Who Put My Catfish in Witness Protection? This place used to be one of my favorite spots in Broussard. Great atmosphere, great service, and my family ate here so often they should have considered putting our name on a booth. Unfortunately, the menu changes have turned this into a completely different experience. Let's start with the catfish. Somewhere between the old menu and the new one, the catfish fillets entered witness protection. What arrived on my plate looked less like catfish and more like a collection of heavily breaded suggestions of catfish. I've seen french fries wider than these strips. If there was actual fish inside, it was hiding better than Bigfoot. The spicy shrimp wrap also appears to have retired from the spice business. It now contains enough pepper jelly to qualify as a dessert, and so much of it that the wrap becomes a soggy engineering failure halfway through eating it. Then there are the onion rings. Calling them onion rings feels generous. They looked like someone lost a ring toss tournament and served the equipment. The frustrating part is that I genuinely loved this place. I live nearby and used to come here regularly. I even tried reaching out through the website before posting this review and never received a response. I hate leaving negative reviews, but somebody needs to stage an intervention for that catfish. This is Acadiana. We have standards. We love Fat Pat's, and this location has always been hit or miss. On our last visit, our 10-piece boneless wings were more of chicken bites, with half the size of popcorn chicken, and more than half of our nachos had no cheese. We love to support local businesses but this business is definitely going down hill. read more

Used to love Fat Pats in Broussard. We've lived in Broussard for 33 years and was so excited when we started to get restaurants close to us. Ate there at least once a month, but more likely twice a month. Last time there about a month ago, we ordered a couple draft beers and sat and waited. They were not busy and everyone looked to have been there long enough to get served. We sat. Two bartenders talked behind the bar and the servers talked in their little area to the left of the bar. I also notice they took the napkin dispensers off of the table. Well 10 minutes is my time limit. Looked at the bar and no one pouring drafts. We left. The manager was out on the parking lot smoking and looking at his phone. Oh yes, that's where he was when we pulled up on the lot. Previous visit maybe a month prior was ok but nothing to praise. And their frozen drink machine it hasn't worked in about two years. So sorry to see this place go down the tubes as it's a great location and used to be a great sports bar and restaurant. Such a welcome addition to the area! I find myself recommending Fat Pat's often, especially this location just based on the patio, but there are many reasons to visit. It's local and supporting local is my thing, it's fun and lively and I personally cannot wait to catch a game here, the pick up process is fool proof and efficient and the burgers will knock your socks off guys. If bold is a taste description you're not afraid of, get a burger here. Any burger will do but the Mile High, the Bae and the Queso are all stellar. The chef here isn't afraid to use spices and that is a definite win! Spicy, bold, unique and always delicious, the burgers here are all stars. Allons, y'all! read more

I've been to a few fat pat pat location's in Lafayette before, but never the one in Broussard. The food here was the best one out of all the other fat pats I been too! I had the three little piggy burger with roasted corn, Spicy fried chicken tender sandwich with sweet potato fries, and garlic parmesan/lemon pepper wings. I would definitely come here to get the delicious wings again and try different items on the menu! read more

Place is very good despite being 4 stars. For beginners the location from this app was wrong, but you can see it while driving so I just turned my GPS off. 2 for 1 beer when I came on Saturday night. The fries were awesome but the pulled pork on them not so much...I got the fat pat burger and it was amazing. Jalapeños, onions, pat sauce..so good, along with the onion rings! My friend had the traditional wings and they were huge. They don't have a wet Buffalo sauce which was a turn off for me, but she said the sauce they recommend as Buffalo was very close and delicious. $66 for an appetizer and 3 beer (2 for 1), mixed drink, and 2 meals. read more

I'd like to say I had high hopes when I googled Fat Pat's - seemed like a typical place but we had a gift card, so we went. Queso and chips - great chips, excellent Queso - ground beef and Rotel tomatoes in a nice cheese. I don't care what the my people got - I got an off the menu fried chicken sandwich. When it arrived the chicken was hanging off the bun. It looked beautiful. So crispy. If people got in fights over Popeye's - this would be straight murder chicken sandwich. If it was me, I'd add this to the secret menu and call the sandwich "Fight Club Chicken"- we don't talk about it, but if you do - there's going to be hands thrown. Service was great. Very happy we know have a Fat Pat's closer to us, love the chips and queso. The wraps were very tasty, and the burger hit the spot, customer service was excellent. Definitely a good place to eat, area very spacious and your own TV. read more

Every dang time I eat here I get sick.. I love the atmosphere but the food needs a lot of help. I ordered the pulled pork nachos and got food poisoning.. I should've followed my gut when the shredded cheese was brought out hard as nails. I should've taken a picture. The pork was dry, it was just awful. It looked like it sat out for a while. We did order the cheese curds as an appetizer, so maybe our main courses were prepared at the same time and then just sat out until we finished the curds. read more

I went to the Fat Pats in Broussard. To my surprise, the eatery wasn't busy on a Saturday night. I was seated almost right away and the service was attentive. I ordered a hamburger with cheese and jalapeño jelly, with a side of onion rings. Not the best hamburger as it was a bit dry and bland. Went there tonight to get a quick bite and everything was going well at first. Got drinks and fried pickles. Pickles were too salty and then our waitress bounced so someone else had to take over for an already short staff on a Saturday night! I dont know who's managing that place but good luck. The atmosphere is really what makes this place worth stopping by. Very family friendly but also with a full bar which is hard to find. There was plenty for the kids to do while we enjoyed a beer on tap. However sadly the food was just not on par with the atmosphere. The fried pickles and the beer was great! Service great! The burgers, not worth the price in my opinion. If you're going for food, maybe stop at Burgersmith or Grub. If you're going for an easy atmosphere and a quick appetizer and beer then this would be a fine spot. This was a cool little restaurant. Each booth had its on TV which we found our selves watching often. The cucumber Bloody Mary was so good! Ice cold beer. The food is basic. On bun or on wrap or by it self. Example Fried shrimp wrap or fried shrimp Poboy or just fried shrimp. No baked or stuffed potatoes. Hotdog had a bun that was hard like it was grilled then heated in microwave. Bbq sauce on chicken wings was vinegary and not good. Service was great. Thankful for our server Victoria tonight. We are huge FP fans. Especially of the verot location. Happy to try your location tonight kids had a blast. Service absolutely terrible. We arrived at 1:36 pm We got sat... fairly quick. Server was no where to be seen for 10-15 mins. 2 other tables sat, around 10 mins of our wait. Finally server shows up. Takes our drink order and as she walks off I said and we would like an appetizer. She gets that order. As we wait and wait the tables that came in after us have already had their appetizers their food and have paid their check and left.. here we are still waiting on food. I went up to another waitress and said hey do you know when our food would be out there's others who got here after us and have already had their food brought out. Before I could even finish saying half of that. She scoff "I'm not your waitress" and I said " ok can you get our waitress" she did a scoff and laughed. So I find the manager on duty... let him know about the terrible service the terrible staff... and he says where are y'all sitting. As soon as we get back to our table the food comes out he apologizes and offers us free shakes. So from 1:36 to the time our food came out it was 2:32... almost an hour wait.
