Went on the sunset kayaking tour and it was the BEST experience. The views on the tour are stunning, the guide was knowledgeable and fun, and the group was a blast! They give you a big "dry bag" for all your stuff you want to bring. And even though I went alone, there were options for me to not have to be in a solo 'yak if I didn't feel comfortable which I loved

We booked online for two people and it was super easy. They had us in a tandem kayak which was easy to steer since their sea kayaks had a pedal rudder. Our guide, Alison, was awesome and very informative. We got lucky with our weather with only a little bit of rain so I recommend reading their Website so you're prepared with what to bring.

This was without a doubt the highlight of my Canada/New England cruise in the autumn of 2022. I booked this kayaking tour through the cruise line as a shore excursion, so it was just the company that the cruise line works with, but they picked the right one. Our guide, Mark, was an extremely good communicator with our group, which consisted of experienced and rookie kayakers. (I was the latter.) He was prepared for any situation, but our situation was that it was a lovely fall day to boat around the Porcupine Islands. He knew a lot about them, including the specifics of all the animals we saw (or could potentially see). It felt like we were doing everything very safely and properly; this meant that while I was able to bring my phone with me in a dry bag, it was pretty hard to get to. I was able to find one brief moment to dig my phone out of there for a couple of pictures, but I felt a little hurried and wish I could have been indulged a little more selfie time. Other than that, though, I wouldn't change a thing about this experience and I highly recommend it!

Justin and Amie were great! I'd recommend this company but look for a shorter tour. 3 hours can be rough for folks just looking for a novice activity to do in Bar Harbour. I was dead by the end.

This was fun. We were a party of 10 with seniors, adults & kids. Everyone was very capable. Andrew was our guide & he made everyone comfortable with being out on the ocean in skinny ocean kayaks. It was nice to get a different perspective of Bar Harbor & learn some history of the area. We also saw porpoises in the harbor. Personally I would have liked to do more kayaking & go further up the coast but I was the only one in the party who felt that way. Your butt is going to get wet so dress accordingly. And you don't need shoes/sandals. Everyone just kicked them off & left them on the dock.

Fantastic evening on the water for the sunset kayaking tour! Tim was so informative, fun and patient with our group. (His wife & dog who greeted us on our return were awesome too, and we got a fabulous recommendation from her for dinner...the Side Street Cafe that was spot on!! (Recommended by the wife, not the dog...LOL!)) Highlight of our trip & money we'll spent. If you have the opportunity, DO IT!

Here are a few tips to get you started. 1. Get there early…read morefor parking (in yellow) pic incl. Pay at the meter for 5 hours which is about the length of the Whale watch trip and back, costs $20 bucks. There are other parking areas available. 2. Clothing, Long pants, with long sleeves shirt windbreaker jacket maybe even a hat, Sunglasses. Pack shorts to change into upon return temperatures will be warmer. *Trip out to sea is windy and chilly. Point here is to feel comfortable. 3. You can pack your own lunch and bring a backpack. There is a Galley on board the ship for food purchases. 4. Bring a camera (i brought my Insta 360 5X camera and a 3 foot selfie stick) and Cellphone and be ready to take pictures. *I have Boost Mobile and I did get cell service out there. *All in all be expected to pay a little over $100.00 per person for slightly over 5 hours ride. Two boats can go out at the same time depending on the crowds. Lines will be long and they will take your picture before you board, (A novelty idea by them to get you to buy a photo of yourselves after debarking). We opted out politely. *Note: We went to the top floor which was all seats. Expect to be chilly. Standing by the rails on top minimal room. Downstairs more room but more crowded, an enclosed area, 3 co-ed bathrooms and Galley. *Final thoughts: Having a physical crew member narrative at top on the microphone was actually a good way to pass the time and learn a few things about what we would encounter. We have a whales "Tale" to speak of when we get back home. The Review Guru* Long Island NY

We also did the puffin cruise, which was great. I just wish our whole group wanted to do the whale watch because we heard they saw 7 whales the night we went! Honestly, any cruise you choose is worth it -- the scenery is incredible. Family tip: they have bathrooms on the ship and nausea medicine if needed. Bring hoodies, extra layers, and blankets for the kids because it gets chilly out on the water. We would definitely do another cruise again!

I'm no stranger to parks and beautiful natural places, but Acadia is like a dreamscape. There's…read morestunning ocean views from crumbling gorgeous cliff sides. There are lakes, streams, ponds, scenic lighthouses, boats, bikes, trails, gardens, crazy hikes with vertical iron rungs, rolling forest hikes, lighthouses, and more! The main issue you'll run into is crowds.. lots of people want to come here, especially in July and August. Best thing to do, go in as early as possible, do some things, take a break, go back again after 3. If you're early, you can get a parking spot then work from there. If you are flexible on time, take advantage of the shuttles, but be warned, they may be full, and they don't run every 10-15 minutes, so plan accordingly. I would be in the park by 7, have plans maybe on a tour in Bar Harbor late morning or early afternoon, then head back after 4, and I got to all the must-do's, ie hiked the Beehive, the Bubbles, Cadillac Mountain sunrise and sunset (reserve this early as spots sell out, I booked mine 3 months in advance the minute they released and they were sold out shortly later, especially sunrise tickets), Jordan Pond and popovers, Bass Harbor Lighthouse, as well as some boat tours in the area, including very successful whale and puffin watching. For more hints and tips, I watched some YouTube videos, there's great info out there, especially the videos from Ash, a former park ranger, who has loads of helpful tips to get around and not spend your trip sitting in traffic or waiting in a parking spot.

Did we go in a wrong entrance or something?!…read more I was underwhelmed for sure. We walked a few trails and took some photos but ??? Im very glad we hit Cadillac Mountain - that's where it's at!!!
