The captain was great at answering our questions, pointing out seals and telling us about the area. He showed us a lighthouse and overall he was great to just let us enjoy ourselves and talk while he cruised along. He is very flexible in his scheduling and such a great host. Was really cool being able to see Fort Knox and the Penobscot Narrows bridge from the water. Wildlife was abundant, from Bald Eagles to Harbor and Gray seals. You do pass through Ellsworth Falls, but the falls are really small. The tour is narrated, which is good and they do pass old telegraph lines. I would recommend this tour to people with children or people that are interested in historic trains, not for people looking for a lot of pretty Maine views.

It would have been better if there were more places visited and a better storyteller. I definitely would have appreciated learning more about the Wabanaki Nation and the Great Fire. Surely there's ghost stories hidden in that history somewhere. In short, for the price we paid it definitely wasn't worth the cost.

The Harbor They Fall…read more 1.6-mile out-and-back trail that outline the City of Belfast's picturesque harbor. The Good: *Very easy flat trail that's good for everyone, even kids. *Dog-friendly *Free! *Restrooms (see trail map for locations) *Adjacent to lots of food and shopping, if that's your jam. *You can connect to the Belfast Rail Trail to make it an even longer walk. *Picturesque views of the harbor, bay, and a working shipyard The Meh: *The trail is almost too easy and flat. You'll get your steps but not your cardio. The Ugly: *Parking can be a bit difficult during certain days and seasons, but not impossible. Conclusion: Fantastic trail with great views and a must-see if you're visiting Belfast, Maine.

You can find the Belfast Harbor Walk at Front St, Belfast, ME 04915 - it basically extends from the…read moreBelfast Armistice Bridge along the shoreline to Heritage Park in the East. There's a small lot where you can park right at the Bridge, which allows for foot traffic across the Passagassawakeag River. If you park at that end, there's a portapotty conveniently located by the lot. We parked, crossed the river to get in sights of the river, then moved to the West across the Belfast Rail Trail - you're rewarded at the end with a small station, caboose and a car or two before turning around. Returning and going the other direction takes you into Belfast where you can experience a small New England town that's been there pretty much longer than the US has been around - the area is hilly which makes for some neat adjustments to the architecture - along Belfast Harbor are massive boat lifts and boats/ships of all sizes that are being worked on by the local marine establishments - this is an active harbor with lots to see, a local brewery or two and stuff you wouldn't normally experience as landlubbers. The whole like totaled up to around 6 miles with the Rail Trail, bridge, visit to the town plus a lookaround. Neat place.

It was so intriguing finding out all the little details about the town that otherwise we would have never known. I really liked that this was not a hocus-pocus, over fabricated "Halloweenie" ghost tour. It was full of history and stories of the past that have made Camden what it is today. It made the town take on a whole new perspective for us; pretty amazing stuff when you think many of those interesting facts would have gone unseen! We loved Sally so much that when she told us about a Haunted Lighthouse tour she was doing in conjunction with the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, ME, we made arrangements to attend that as well. Once again, we were not disappointed. Any lover of lighthouses, like myself, would have gotten enjoyment from this trip. We took a boat tour aboard the Pied Piper, to 7 different lighthouses and got to hear the stories and hardships of the keepers that manned the beautiful towers. We also got to meet her husband, Greg, an investigative reporter whom has written two books in conjunction with Sally, about uncovering the history behind seemingly unexplainable mysteries and ghost stories. I highly recommend Red Cloak Haunted Tours! I can not wait until our next trip to Maine, as I absolutely plan on working in as many locations for tours with Sally that we can!!!
