My recent visit to this establishment, intended for the drop-off of an old grill and dryer, was deeply disappointing and profoundly unprofessional. I cannot recommend this business and, were it possible, would rate it zero stars. During my approximately 20 minute visit, two employees a white male and a Hispanic coworker engaged in a loud, heated, and public verbal argument right in front of me. The dispute became particularly unsettling when the white male employee began disrespecting his coworker. The owner's attempt to manage this volatile situation was inadequate and ineffective. She simply told the aggressive male employee to "walk it off," a directive he visibly ignored. This lack of managerial control and the obvious toxic work environment were alarming. The experience was so distressing that I briefly offered "Leo" a job on the spot as a hot shot driver, purely based on my observation of the gut-wrenching professional circumstances he was enduring. I chose this location as a temporary alternative because my preferred shop was fully booked, but the negative experience has ensured I will not be returning. Potential customers should be warned the unprofessional behavior and apparent lack of workplace control make this a business to avoid. I am just glad i didn't have my kiddos with me. I've been in this business for roughly 20 years, so suffice to say I know what I'm talking about and I know what I'm doing. They don't keep their display where the customer can view them which is ALWAYS a red flag nor do they have pricing posted (that I noticed). When I spoke to the manager about some items in question he explained he wasn't interested because they just sell them to another scrap yard and he wasn't interested in doing actual work to earn money. Good to know. I didn't make a scene or explain who I was or what I knew because I figure that's to best way to see if someone if honest and worth dealing with before I bring in a full load. It was a test run. As an owner of several facilities of my own, I've never seen a manager so clean in this business. New boots, new pants, not a spot on him. (I realize I'm knit-picking now). His demeanor was very dismissive of me. He wasn't rude or abrasive, just not interested in speaking with me. He had better things to do apparently. After reviewing their prices I would recommend going to somewhere else where you can verify weights and pricing. I felt short changed but better to lose a little than a lot. read more

I went here with like 7 bags of aluminum cans to recycle, the guys who helped us get the bags out of the car were really nice and helpful, they just rip open the bags and put them through a machine and put them in a bag like thing, and then weigh them. It was a fast and easy process! read more

I came here with a bag of aluminum cans to recycle, so my experience is small and limited. Pull into their facility, the friendly man quickly unloaded my bag, weighed it, then you go inside with the slip he gives you and get paid. Now, I don't know what aluminum is selling for as no prices were posted. I imagine this fluctuates daily, and frankly, I just want to recycle, not make the rent. The place is quite clean and neat for being a recycling place. It's a drive-through operation, so that's nice. Convenient location at the NW corner of Hempstead and Tanner. read more

DO NOT COME HERE !! THESE PEOPLE ARE RACIST AND RUDE ! We had came in with a full set of wheels and a couple other things and at first the gentleman helping us was extremely friendly don't get me wrong , after weighing it and everything out total to receive back was going to be 43$ and some cents and we decided to not take it because these wheels were worth more than 600$ . The owner then proceeds to laugh at us and also the front desk lady , as we then exit and start putting them back in our car the white owner starts to yell at us to "hurry up and put all your shit in your car , you have wasted my time " after that we thought he was gonna shut up and go back inside he began to insult us and call me and my mother I law fat bitches and that we should go back where we came from as we are Hispanic. He was completely out of line and racist !!! If I could give zero stars I will DONT COME HERE TO WASTE YOUR TIME BECAUSE YOU WILL SURELY GET CALLED OUT FOR IT !!! read more

Great experience at Coastal Metal Recycling. The company that I work for generates scrap on a weekly basis. The warehouse employees are always courteous and efficient. We drive into the facility with our big box truck, the guys promptly unload us, weigh our scrap metal and we are paid cash and out the door in minutes.
