A truly caring and helpful person that enjoys his job. The best pediatrician ever, in my opinion…read more He was my pediatrician, my sister's, my brothers', and now my nephew's :). We are a family that loves quality, and although we live 40 mins away, we don't mind making the drive because of the high quality service we receive in exchange. His staff is always friendly and polite. There are books, toys, and games for children to play in the waiting area. The entire facility is clean and looks new. Dr. Macias is patient and will actually listen to your concerns and not try to rush you no matter how busy he is with so many appointments. He goes above and beyond in answering questions and makes sure you really understand, even if it means drawing a diagram/picture. He is also fantastic at recommending other medical practitioners. I have tried cardiologists and pulmonologists he has recommended and they have been of great quality also. I've had negative experiences with other doctors, this is why I value this doctor, now-a-days its difficult to find people like this! Highly recommended.

From the moment we met Dr. Macias, we knew our family would be in the best hands! When I was…read morepregnant, we had no idea our daughter would have some health issues. He has been incredibly helpful every step of the way. He caught one of her health issues early. We later learned that many pediatricians miss the early signs. Thanks to his knowledge, we are able to get our daughter a minimally invasive surgery instead of a more major one she would have needed if her symptoms were overlooked. Additionally, we wanted to go out of state for her surgery and Dr. Macias was amazing as he is still supporting us through the process of navigating insurance and getting to an out-of-state specialist that we chose. Through the process, he listened to our concerns and expresses confidence in the choices we are making for our girl. We couldn't ask for more! If you are lucky enough to have Dr. Macias as your child's ped, you will be so comforted by his experience and gentleness. We could not be getting our daughter the help she needs without Dr. Macias! Trust us, if your child ever needs something medically, you will want a pediatrician as wonderful as he is. We are beyond grateful we chose Dr. Macias and would recommend him to anyone looking for care for their child.

Get Them Out Of The Dungeon…read more.. Pros: Well equipped. Reasonable scheduling. Reports ready in a day. Cons: Waiting room (currently in the basement) Ratings: - Overall: 4 - Front Desk: 5 - Waiting Area: 3 - Scheduling: 4 - Medical Assistants: 5 - Technicians: 5 - Scheduling: 4 - Doctors: 4 - Billing: 5 - Parking: 4 I've had periodic problems which might be related to heart issues...so my doctor referred me to Coastal Cardiology for diagnostic tests during the past 3 years - 2 echocardiograms and 1 nuclear stress test. Pros: - Location: Very good. On the outskirts of downtown SLO on the first floor of French Hospital. The lab where tests are conducted is in the basement, but they're scheduled to move to the 3rd floor in the spring of 2026. - Front Desk People: Busy but friendly. - Scheduling: Convenient. A popular place, but they do their best. I get online reminders a week in advance and haven't had the communication problems mentioned by others. - Medical Assistants: Fine. I've waited less than 15 minutes to be taken inside. - Technicians: No problems. They all seemed to be knowledgeable and able to answer most questions. - Doctors: Fine. I saw a different doctor during each appointment...Bandari (he's since moved into his own practice), Niku and Dennish. Dr. Dennish gave the most complete answers to questions. They won't say much unless you ask, but reports are ready in a day. - Billing: No problem so far. Medicare and my supplemental Medicare insurance (Blue Cross) has taken care of everything. - Parking: Sufficient. The lot around French Hospital is big, but there are lots of patients and visitors. Con: - Waiting Area: Okay. It's clean and uncluttered, but kind of dark since they're in the basement with no windows. From what I've gathered, Coastal Cardiology seems to be the best equipped cardiology diagnostic center in the area. Their upcoming move to the 3rd floor of French Hospital will get them out of the dungeon.

I wonder if the name change has anything to do with their previous poor reviews. It didn't help. I…read morehave the same experiences as I did a year ago. No one actually answers the phone, ever. If you get a call back it's a week after you left a message, if at all. The latest is that they call you and expect you to change your appointment at the drop of a hat. The doctor I have is pompous and arrogant. I'm not impressed with his work either. As soon as I get what I want from him, which is clearance for an elective surgery, I'm going cardiologist shopping.
