We watch all the company's guides on the river and they looked fun and safe from our view on the river. We loved the trip with Tonya, Tim and Bert. The guides were friendly, knowledgable and safe. I changed rafts along the river from Bert's raft to Tonya's to even the numbers and weight. What an experience. Laughed so much and got so wet. We stopped to let people swim and jump off "climbing rock". Later we stopped at McKenzie Bridge campground for a short snack and potty break. Tnt supplied huge amounts of snack bars, chips, nuts, fruit, and bottled water for our consumption. If you want to see the McKenzie River along with it"s class one and two plus rapids, I would recommend Tnt!

Depoe Bay is blessed with a plentiful food source, and a protective environment for grey whales. I've lived in the Pacific Northwest most of my life and have taken for granted just how accessible whales really are in this region. During peak migration months it's possible to view the whales right from your car as you're driving down Highway 101! From the moment we booked our $55 tickets for a six-person, 90-minute whale watching tour along the coast, everyone at Eco Excursions made us feel welcome. It's evident these folks really love what they do, because everything just fell into place. Booking tickets was easy, checking in was a breeze, any concerns about locating and boarding the boat were taken care of. Our guide was friendly and informative, and really went out of his way to make sure we had a pleasant experience. There's something so magical about viewing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Experiencing whale breath, viewing them so closely you can count the barnacles attached to them, and repeatedly seeing them surface and fluke... nothing compares! It's difficult to explain the pure joy I felt out on the water with a team who clearly bring their A-game to work every day! A highlight reel experience along the Oregon coast. Our family of four took a two-hour kayak tour…read moreof the Salmon River and estuary. Finding Three Rocks Road was easy. And it's just a spectacular area with mountain and ocean views everywhere. This is a pretty chill expedition requiring modest skill or fitness. With a tandem kayak, I'd say the workout was moderate (you can always ask for more or less distance). Kendal guided us to towards Three Rocks and back to the estuary. Let me tell you, Kendal is the ideal guide for this Biosphere environment. He loves this stuff and he's an expert. He studied chemistry and marine biology and is a research diver. We learned so much about how the unique geography and weather systems shape this intricate living system of nutrients, water dynamics, and organisms. We met crabs, fish, and a variety of birds, including an osprey, kingfisher, and bald eagle doing their things. If you go, take your camera! We traveled the Oregon coast for a week in late July and this was our top excursion.

My husband booked fat tire bikes for us to ride for the day. For some reason he thought they were…read moree-bikes, which was slightly funny at the time. They clearly expected us to last maybe 2 hours tops. They gave us good direction as far as where to ride and where on the sand to stay. They gave us one bike with an adjustable seat, and one that was not adjustable. They adjusted it to fit my son, but didn't tighten it enough to keep it in place. By the time we got to the beach it was all the way down with no way to fix it. It was a very windy day, which is part of the beach experience, but it was much harder given that we are tall and the bike was too small. I felt like we were not given all the information we needed. I would not rent the bikes again.

He's unpredictable, unprofessional and unhinged!!

The only words to describe the Yurt rental is "magical". Okay, I could probably come up with more…read morelike "amazing" or "private oasis" but you get the point. I am on a 5 week road trip/camping trip with my kids and we have been camping all over the PNW and CA. This has been my favorite stop of the trip and had I known it was going to be this magical, I would've booked a week instead of 3 days. The check in process was amazing. They give you the code and you go to your Yurt which is away from everyone else at the campground. You have your own little dock, backyard, outdoor cooking area, sunroom with a shower, and the Yurt itself is like a home/suite-like hotel room but in a Yurt. After a long day of driving, being able to just go to your room and walk right in, especially with young kids in the car, is such an added bonus. I've literally felt like I've had the place to myself these last few days and it's heavenly. Being away from it all means my kids aren't bothering anyone when they're out playing at 6:00 in the morning, and we've been sleeping like logs by 9:00 because it's so quiet --aside from the relaxing sound of water and birds. I'm pretty sure this is my new favorite place. It's so much better than the website depicts and I am absolutely staying here again. I imagine this place books up rather quickly. I got lucky and booked it 7 months ago with no problems. You can kayak (included) to Siltcoos lake OR the ocean. The added gate to keep kids in and away from the dock is such a thoughtful touch and kept my anxiety at bay knowing my twins wouldn't wander off.

The guides!!! They were amazing, while they made it seem like it was an easy job it was anything…read morebut! First, they did an excellent job caring for our safety, and the set up everyday was beyond what we do at home. We got to a lunch spot and they'd have chairs set up, a full and plentiful spread with choices for gluten free or even just the more picky eaters. Dinners were delicious and they even had dessert every night. They were clean when preparing food, washing their hands often. Of and the first day, they noticed that we were early risers and offered to have coffee earlier if we wanted. The equipment was good, I can't compare to anything since this was my first rafting experience but there were no issues along the way. The duckies were a kick and Drew was careful to give detailed explanations on maneuvering the rapids (although I didn't follow them well, I was still okay). They also brought a ton of water and kept it cool, we could add Gatorade as we wished. 100% A+

I have a group of friends who do hiking trips together every few years, and this year we picked…read moreMorrisons Rogue River hike with support from guides on rafts. Booking the trip was relatively straightforward, but Morrisons highly encouraged us to do trip insurance because they don't offer refunds, which should've been the first red flag. Before I go too far, I do want to give a huge shout out to our guides Drew, Adam, and Johnny. They were amazing, and if I were rating just them, this review would be 5++ stars. They were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely cared about us and our hike. The rest of the Morrison's staff...not so much. There was an active wildfire in the area before we started the hike. We talked to Morrison's several times in the days leading up to the trip (before we flew out) and even asked about rebooking the trip for a different time, when the forest in the area wasn't on fire. We were assured that even though they were planning a few modifications to our itinerary (i.e. at least one day of rafting instead of hiking), they were confident that it would be a wonderful trip. Fast forward to the end of day 2 of our trip...and they had to cancel the rest of the 4-day hike due to safety concerns and, ultimately, a mandatory evacuation. To be clear, I'm not upset that we were pulled out of the woods, as that was an obvious safety decision. I'm mad because we specifically asked about rebooking for different dates and were told no. Morrison's got us back to their main lodge the following morning, at which point they considered themselves done with us. There was no refund, no help finding rooms for the night, and the last lodge we were in literally wouldn't even let us use the bathroom in the hour we were waiting for vans to get us back to safety. Morrison's did at least send us all an official email about the trip cancellation so that we could share that with our travel insurance (if we'd purchased it) to try to get a refund, but that was about it. Morrisons also made the guides tell us, rather than having anyone higher up in the company talk to us. From what we can tell, they also didn't do anything to help their guides (e.g. helping them find lodging) once the trip was canceled. I will also add that I'm vegetarian, and although there was a lot of very tasty vegetarian food available, vegetarian protein was extremely scarce. For dinner the two nights we hiked (~9 mi on day 1 and 15 mi on day 2), there was no source of vegetarian protein for me to eat. (The gluten free and dairy free people fared much better.) It would've been so easy to roast a portobello mushroom the way they roasted salmon, or to do some kind of meat substitute when they did ribs (they did have meat substitute at the lunches, and eggs or veggie patties at breakfast). I had brought some protein powder with me, but not enough to make up for dinners without protein. My friends ended up giving me the protein bars they'd brought for themselves to try to make up for the dinners. To Morrison's: please consider all macronutrients (carbs, fat, AND protein) when planning meals for your guests! Overall, I would absolutely go back to the river with any of the guides, but I'll never use Morrisons again, and I recommend that you don't either.

The visitor's center was just closing when we arrived, but they did have some placards with pertinent information on the back deck with a gorgeous view of the bog. The other area below the visitor's center, where the short boardwalk and dock are located, has a picnic area available. There's an area where you can walk through the marsh to view the wildlife. We visited in early May so it was a bit muddy out there. It would have been fine if we brought our boots. Next time. We did hear many different birds out there, but only saw a few. Overall a nice stop while in the area, but not sure we would go out of our way to stop here again.

I read positive reviews and the brochure ("Bring your binoculars...this soft-packed, moderately…read moredifficult loop skirts the fringes of the upland forests and meadows") online prior to going, expecting a pleasant hike on a maintained trail. This was not that. The Beaver Creek Loop trail was a horrifying viewless bushwacking slog over overgrown blackberry, poison oak, and tall grass (check yourself for ticks). Very clear that trail hasn't been brushed in a LONG time. The trail doesn't even deserve to be called a trail. Also there's a downed tree across the trail with pretty much no way except to duck under into a thicket of poison oak while carrying a small child. Really horrible. Do better Oregon, this was really not OK. AVOID THIS PLACE.
