The last time was the cheapest, just under $800 to replace the boots on the vents in the roof that they said were the actual cause of the problem. Then it rained a few days later and the roof leaked in places it had never leaked before. Sometimes I have had to call several times to get a response, and then weeks go by before someone actually comes out. Each person who comes out has a different idea about the leaks. They do not seem to talk to one another or to review the photos or other evidence other workers have collected. They do assure me that it's fixed and they do bill me. The billing is fast. I suspect someone calls when they have nothing else going. I realize this review makes me look gullible and stupid. That's my excuse. But the roof still leaks.

So I called Dr. Roof to come and install two cages over our roof vents which we had already…read morepurchased. Squirrels were accessing our attic through the roof vents. An appointment was set up for a week later and that morning, we get a call that the technician was ill and would come the following week. He showed up and was literally here for about 5 minutes and proceeded to tell us that he needed to order shingles and bring his crew and we would get an estimate the next day for the total cost of the work. My husband said to him "this is not going to cost me $2000 dollars is it?" and the guy looked at him in shock. Fast forward a week later and we have no estimate. I called yesterday and suddenly I have a bill for $250 for this technician's service fee to view the job (for 5 minutes!!!). When I call to ask about the estimate as this $250 will apply toward the job if I hire them, I am told that I do not get the estimate until I pay this $250. That was never mentioned to me on the initial call or by the technician when he was here. So I basically told them that I am not paying for this until I see the full estimate. I'm not stupid -- I know a pack of shingles costs between $35 to $45 and he's telling my husband he needs to come back with his crew? It's two small little vent covers which I've already purchased and they were not cheap?! I don't get this, but particularly the bait and switch tactic and nobody told me I had to pay to get my estimate. I fully expected to be upsold or told I would need a roof replacement because that is what these guys are in business for, but to withhold an estimate on a tiny job -- and I told them at the outset -- this is a small job and I don't know if you even do this type of job and the guy who answered the phone said he never heard of covers for the vents before -- so how experienced can these roofers be? I'm still waiting to see if I see the actual estimate and will share the amount for laughs and giggles because I'm sure they saw my house and figured they could charge me a fortune, but I'm a New Yorker and am very street smart so I don't get taken advantage of at all.

They did flooring, a brand new kitchen and bathroom, tile work, painting, electrical, plumbing, and several custom carpentry projects, including a large banquette facing the ocean. Everything was first class. Brooke is a great communicator - she responded to every email promptly and thoroughly, and we always felt listened to and taken care of. When questions arose, we would get an email or a call, asking us how we wanted things done. Brooke and Matt would meet with us at their office or at our condo to go over details. Matt is an artist at what he does, and an absolute perfectionist. When our shower tile was halfway complete, Matt was not satisfied with how it was turning out. He had the subcontractor take the tile off and start over, and the end result is beautiful. Were there hiccups? Of course, every project has them. But the bottom line is how those challenges, surprises, and changes are handled. We always felt in the loop, and all the challenges were met with quality (and sometimes very creative) solutions. Every detail of our new place is just to our liking - we could not be more pleased. You might be able to find cheaper contractors out there, but Matt and Brooke will treat you like old friends, and will do the job as if you are family.

When a squirrel chewed through our vents (outside of warranty), they offered a fair solution to the problem. Sabel and his son Julian came back right away to fix it--no questions asked. I was blown away by their responsiveness and care. It's rare to find a company that stands by their work like this. Highly recommend!

The work was done quickly and on time. My husband picked up nails and then more nails and then shingles blew off. The local manager assured me this was a "common inconvenience." The crew was told by M to roof right over three vents, including the flapper vent over our shower fan. When we alerted the business, this was corrected and the flapper was put on, but the shower fan blew back into the bathroom. The company owner (in Arizona) yelled at length at my husband when he tried to explain about the shower vent not working--not his problem; his crew were not entering our house etc. etc. I finally got him to stop screaming and assured him that we wanted to trust that everything would be made right, but the crew covering over three vents had made us understandably cautious. He apologized. The following week our electrician pulled the fan and found the vent stuffed with debris from the roof. All is well now with the fan. There was a course of shingles flapping up and down in the wind. That was repaired after we forwarded the video sent to us by our alarmed neighbor. G, the man who did the original measurements and oversaw the corrections, came out once more when shingles blew off the roof. He fixed the immediate problem and told us that the roof was still not properly nailed in some places and the crew needed to come back. They have not returned to do that. We were billed extra beyond the bid price for flashing our skylights--why? The skylights were always there and I assumed would have been included in the bid. But the roof seems to still be on.
