The desk staff are decent but not overly personal. The wait room and office are comfortable and clean including the bathroom. The wait time for the dentist was not long. The dentist was very nice, gentle and fast, I barely felt his anesthesia shots. The dental assistants were very compassionate and sweet. It was very hard to get an initial appointment, and I waited a long time to get in. That being said, both my 23-year-old son and I had good experiences. So far zero complaints. Sadly, over the past two years customer service for the adults in our household has declined significantly. I'm going share as 4 stars, at this point it's really closer to 3 1/2 but they don't give you an option for that, which I'm torn since they do take great care of my children. Let's start with the positives: The hygienist and Doctor who work with our children are wonderful. They are gentle, kind, and patient. They have never pushed unnecessary treatments. They simply do their cleanings, make observations, and offer suggestions. Never had an issue with how our kids are treated. They even allow you to sit in the room with them. This part of their practice has always been excellent. The wait time once you arrive and check in is never long, I don't believe we've ever waited more than 10 minutes to be seen except one time when someone called out so they were short staffed. The office is also very clean. However, our experience as adults has been very frustrating. My husband was essentially "Ghosted" as a patient. He was contacted about moving his appointment earlier, which he agreed to only if his original appointment could remain in case he couldn't make it ( He was traveling for work that week). They canceled his original appointment anyways, and then later canceled another appointment because insurance was "asking questions" but no one ever followed back up with him like they said they would. In the end they dictated his schedule instead of working with it, and he never got his mouth completed after starting a deep cleaning. Recently they repeatedly kept contacting me during work hours asking for insurance information even though I had told them I did not have it on hand and would send it as soon as I could that day. The constant texts during the workday feel excessive and stressful. Another limitation is pain management, they only offer injections for numbing. If you don't numb well with needles like me they can't accommodate you. They won't even do my teeth cleanings until one tooth issue is resolved elsewhere. Scheduling is also a bit difficult, appointments are typically booked close to a year out, and although we tried to switch to their newer location, they told me they are still working on insurance coverage there so we're stuck at this office. Today was another example of the disorganization. We had a 2pm appointment and arrived 15 minutes early. The staff was in a meeting and kept all patients waiting outside until exactly 2PM. As more and more patients arrived for their appointments they eventually put a sign on the door telling people to return at 1PM even though it was already past that and they still weren't available until 2. It was confusing and frustrating especially for those who arrive on time and early. During cleanings you won't see the dentist for more than 5 minutes unless you have specific concerns. Overall, this used to be a 5-star office for us. Now it feels very inconsistent. Excellent for children so far.

For one thing, he yanks your cheek around instead of buying a vibrator. 3. Speaking of too cheap to buy equipment --- You'll freeze your wisdom teeth off on a Monday when it's cold outside. The heat has been off all weekend, and they won't install a programmable thermostat, or have someone come in early to warm the place.

I cannot say enough good things, especially about the pediatric department and Dr. Spruill! Late yesterday afternoon, we called to get our daughter seen following a playground mishap. They graciously agreed to fit us in at the end of their day. Dr. Spruill evaluated our daughter and was glad we brought her in immediately. Though we had initially been told any procedure may have to wait, he stayed well beyond closing to make sure she received the surgery she needed. He and the assistant made sure she was comfortable throughout and called back today to check on how she was feeling. They communicated easily with my husband and I, ensuring we understood what was being done as well as follow-up precautions needing to be taken. We absolutely love this practice and I have frequently recommended them to friends and family! It is clear that they truly care about their patients.

When I schedule with them, they're ALWAYS accurate and 100% sure ... I have to juggle appointments for three kids (plus myself) and I get super frustrated when an office is constantly canceling or rescheduling appointments on me. This NOT an issue with Vacendak Dentistry... if they schedule us, that is when we will see them! As an extra bonus - they always run on time!! Love it. When it comes to payment, they're ALWAYS up front with us about what the cost is before they do any work (barring anything unexpected, of course), providing a written estimate before they even go back. We have Tricare and our Dental recently changed VERY MUCH for the worse... they have been wonderful about maximizing our coverage and making sure we understand the costs of appointments and procedures before starting. I see Dr Dan, and he diagnosed my TMJ, suggesting we try a mouth guard as a potentially simple and less expensive solution before I spend a ton on orthodontics. The custom mouth guard (which was affordable for us) has helped a lot, relieving my jaw pain from clenching at night and I wear it during the day while working to prevent my jaw from locking. We are grateful to have finally found a wonderful dental office here in Hampton Roads that is so close to our home and cares so very much for each of their patients.

Dr Kyu is the best! I went in for a root canal and felt great 4 days later!…read more The day I had the appointment for the consultation, I had many questions about a possible root canal. I was apprehensive as I had only heard painful stories about root canals. Dr Kyu was very knowledgeable and put my fears at ease. Also, knowing that I had to get this done, I put my fears aside. The day of the procedure, Dr Kyu made sure to ask if I had any other questions. During the procedure I was always expecting to feel some pain but it never came. Other than a few pricks from a needle to numb the area I didn't feel any pain at all. And even those weren't that bad! Also, throughout the procedure he made sure to check if I was doing well. I had the same experience with the follow up cleaning and finishing of the root canal. Overall, a very painless experience. They also accept Delta Dental along with many other insurance providers. I was referred to Dr. Wong by an old colleague when we were stationed here the first time. I don't keep in touch with that colleague anymore, so it's funny how life works. She connected me with them and I loved my time with them from the last time so much that I looked them up again this time around, even though we don't live as close to them as we used to, I've chosen them to be my dentist again. I could have easily gone to the dentists downstairs from my ortho for convenience, but I don't mind the drive. They've gotten a new look with a refresh of the logo, more visible on the building. They are right next to the Car Spa. I'm so happy to find my previous dental hygienist, Tricia, is still there too. She is absolutely fantastic and she always makes you feel at ease. Edwin is always so helpful with any insurance questions. I had to get some extractions done at the end of last year in preparation for my braces. Dr. Wong did a great job. I went back for a cleaning for the first time with the braces on recently and Tricia was great. You're most likely going to see both docs, depending on what day you're in because the parents take days off now. It's nice to see the the mom and dad taking some time off from the practice! They are old school and Anne will call you the day before to remind you of your appointment, so that's nice. The email would probably get lost in my inbox. I love that they still call people LOL.
