I came here after my last dentist office had a very rude manager (at Hanbury Dental) and was delighted. First thing is it was a bit hard to find because the trees cover the sign but it's super close to the freeway exit. Not a big deal. Everything so far was very good. The desk staff are decent but not overly personal. The wait room and office are comfortable and clean including the bathroom. The wait time for the dentist was not long. The dentist was very nice, gentle and fast, I barely felt his anesthesia shots. The dental assistants were very compassionate and sweet. It was very hard to get an initial appointment, and I waited a long time to get in. That being said, both my 23-year-old son and I had good experiences. So far zero complaints. Everything including my request to avoid bpa was very respected. The appointment ladies in the back are very polite and helpful. I will for sure return. read more

I used to absolutely love Edinburgh Family Dentistry 100%. So much so I recommended them to everyone I knew. Sadly, over the past two years customer service for the adults in our household has declined significantly. I'm going share as 4 stars, at this point it's really closer to 3 1/2 but they don't give you an option for that, which I'm torn since they do take great care of my children. Let's start with the positives: The hygienist and Doctor who work with our children are wonderful. They are gentle, kind, and patient. They have never pushed unnecessary treatments. They simply do their cleanings, make observations, and offer suggestions. Never had an issue with how our kids are treated. They even allow you to sit in the room with them. This part of their practice has always been excellent. The wait time once you arrive and check in is never long, I don't believe we've ever waited more than 10 minutes to be seen except one time when someone called out so they were short staffed. The office is also very clean. However, our experience as adults has been very frustrating. My husband was essentially "Ghosted" as a patient. He was contacted about moving his appointment earlier, which he agreed to only if his original appointment could remain in case he couldn't make it ( He was traveling for work that week). They canceled his original appointment anyways, and then later canceled another appointment because insurance was "asking questions" but no one ever followed back up with him like they said they would. In the end they dictated his schedule instead of working with it, and he never got his mouth completed after starting a deep cleaning. Recently they repeatedly kept contacting me during work hours asking for insurance information even though I had told them I did not have it on hand and would send it as soon as I could that day. The constant texts during the workday feel excessive and stressful. Another limitation is pain management, they only offer injections for numbing. If you don't numb well with needles like me they can't accommodate you. They won't even do my teeth cleanings until one tooth issue is resolved elsewhere. Scheduling is also a bit difficult, appointments are typically booked close to a year out, and although we tried to switch to their newer location, they told me they are still working on insurance coverage there so we're stuck at this office. Today was another example of the disorganization. We had a 2pm appointment and arrived 15 minutes early. The staff was in a meeting and kept all patients waiting outside until exactly 2PM. As more and more patients arrived for their appointments they eventually put a sign on the door telling people to return at 1PM even though it was already past that and they still weren't available until 2. It was confusing and frustrating especially for those who arrive on time and early. During cleanings you won't see the dentist for more than 5 minutes unless you have specific concerns. Overall, this used to be a 5-star office for us. Now it feels very inconsistent. Excellent for children so far. read more

The office staff is horrible at scheduling and notifying you. It took several months to schedule my wife's first appointment in 2025. After that appointment and becoming an established patient, Edinburgh Family Dentistry in Chesapeake could not schedule her next appointment until 2026. She asked them, aren't cleaning supposed to be every six months? This office said yes, but they do not have any availability, and my wife could be put on a cancellation list for an early appointment. When it came time for my wife's appointment this February 2026, this dentist's office called my wife three hours before her appointment and said her hygienist was out sick and they had to cancel her appointment. She asked about seeing another hygienist, and they told her they are short-staffed. Edinburgh Family Dentistry makes sure to inform you that you will be charged a late or no-show fee if you do not give advance notice within 24 hours of canceling your appointment with them. My wife asked when they will be able to schedule her for the next cleaning appointment, since this cancellation by the dentist's office, they said February 2027. My wife said that would be two years without seeing a dentist, but the office staff didn't seem to see a problem with that. If you are an established patient, you would think you would be accommodated after the office canceled your appointment, which you made a year ago. This is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. Maybe Edinburgh Family Dentistry should have thought twice before opening their Moyock office until they figure out their staffing problems, or maybe pay their hygienists a better wage to keep their attrition rate down. My wife did like her Dentist, but hates that she must deal with an office staff that is clueless to patient needs. In response to the owner's response. This is not a misunderstanding. It appears to be an ongoing issue with Edinburgh Family Dentistry. See Traci Gray's & Anne Buckner's one-star reviews from one & seven months ago. They both had to experience the same one-year extension befall them. It was our first time at this dental practice and everyone was super friendly. The assistant, Alyssa that cleaned my kids teeth was very friendly and patient. She explained everything before doing anything so they weren't left with any surprises. She also asked them what flavors they wanted for the cleaning and for the fluoride. They had lots to choose from. There was lots of rooms and each room has a TV for the patients to watch TV, very relaxing and accommodating. The dentist, Dr. Sagun was friendly and answered all our concerns. We didn't feel rushed at all and he took his time with my kids. So happy we found a great dental practice. I've been coming to Edinburgh Family Dentistry for about 2 years now. It might be a long drive commute for me when I come from work, but I just love the environment. The office is "spa like" and is clean. I love the TVs on the rooms. I love how they have toothbrushes in the bathroom, just in case you want to brush your teeth before your appointment. The staff are very welcoming and will accommodate your questions -even my ridiculous ones. My hygienists - Alex and Jen - are very knowledgeable. They are very friendly. Even the doctors are nice. I've met Dr. Conrad and Dr. Curling. They will give you options instead of letting you know what needs to be done. I will continue to recommend this practice to many people, even though they always tell me that "it's too far," because I know that they will get a superior service and treatment. read more

Let me preface by saying I HATE going to the dentist. I've had some trauma to my teeth due to sports injuries in high school. I usually need the laughing gas to get through the appointment. For a couple of years I even avoided going to the dentist from bad experiences I've had at other dentists. I had an appointment for a cleaning yesterday and it was by far the most relaxed and stress-free appointment I've ever had. Briana was my hygienist and she didn't hesitate to address my nerves and make it quick and painless. She also did a wonderful job on my teeth. She even helped me find out the price of their whitening kit ($110 for custom top and bottom trays + 3 syringes of whitener). She was gentle but efficient and would highly recommend her. Dr. G was also great. I asked him about my jaw since I am waking up with headaches. He said I should try an over the counter mouth guard at night before investing in a much more expensive one from their office. I appreciated his honestly. Additionally, the previous dentist I went to told me I had a very bad cavity that needed to be filled. However I felt no pain on the tooth they said needed to be filled. Dr. G told me I had 0 cavities. I think it's funny how sometimes dentists try to upsell services. I appreciated his true professional opinion. Highly recommend going to Edinburgh. I immediately had a very pleasant first impression when we first walked in. A very friendly & professional staff greeted us. Our appt was in the morning & it wasn't extremely busy but I have a feeling that the fairly quiet & calm atmosphere is the "norm". I have had 2 different appts in the past week with 2 of my children & just made an appt for myself. So very happy to have found Edinburgh Dentistry. I woke up in intense pain this morning, so I called my dentist, who I haven't seen in 2 years because we were on the west coast, and they fit me in right away. How grateful am I? Dr. "G" saw me and immediately concluded that my wisdom tooth was causing the problem. He and his team made sure I was referred to the right oral surgeon to remove the trouble maker from my mouth. Everything ran like a well oiled machine. One, it was great to see everyone again. I love this dental practice. They are knowledgeable and very kind. Two, Dr. "G" made sure the surgeon I was referred to could see me within 24 hours. With the amount of pain I was in, that was super important. Of course the doc gave me a script for pain meds, but it is pretty hard to get ahead of pain this bad. The issue needed to be dealt with ASAP. Just knowing that his staff took the time to call ahead to make sure I would be seen quickly, going that extra step, shows how much patients are a priority. And you can trust that the person you are being referred to is good at what they do. This dental practice has high standards and they want to refer you to someone who has equally high standards. I cannot thank them enough! (sidenote: the oral surgeon they referred me to saw me within hours and my wisdom tooth was extracted with no issue) read more
