Had a wonderful shopping trip at the farmers market this week! There was a new Thai vendor selling desserts, drinks, salads, and more. I tried a few of the desserts, and they were delicious with a perfect balance of sweetness. Highly recommend checking them out. I also picked up a fresh Guinea fowl for only $18 and two razor clams (over 1 1/2 pounds each) for $18 each. I was lucky to get the last two! The vendors were incredibly friendly and provided excellent customer service. The poultry vendor recommended the Guinea fowl, and it was my first time trying it. I made soup with it at home, and the broth turned out rich, flavorful, and naturally sweet. The razor clams were exceptionally fresh as well. The market had a lively atmosphere, fresh products, great prices, and friendly vendors. I left with some amazing finds and couldn't be happier. Fresh, delicious, and a great value. Smaller Farmer's Market on Saturdays but they had the California Bakeshop vendor so I could purchase my Mushroom Empanadas!! I usually get them in the Thursday Daly City Farmer's Market but this is one of the Peninsula locations that sell on Saturdays. It was a very busy Saturday as there are surrounding businesses that are open on a busy street. I was able to find parking in an adjacent public parking lot so lucky me. I walked to the market and there it was so I snagged 10 Mushroom Empanadas. I asked the employee if they're made in-house or from another vendor and she said they're made in-house!! No wonder their crusts are so buttery and tasty! Afterwards, I walked next to their stall to Som Tum and saw a couple of packaged desserts. One was young Coconut with Coconut milk that you can pour on top and the other was the Mango Sticky Rice that you can top with the accompanying Coconut Milk and toasted Coconut. There are chilled Thai Iced Teas, Thai Iced Coffee and Thai Coconut Milk and a Thai salad on a bed of ice. I wanted to try the Mango Sticky Rice so I bought that for $7. The vendor was very friendly and told me that they use Champagne Mangoes if they are in season as they are sweeter. She mentioned another variety but I forgot what that was called. I saw some veggie vendors but didn't venture further in as I had to meet a friend. read more

A very straight forward local farmers' market. It's simply produce with one or two other specialty booths that have bread, flowers, and seafood. Pretty decent, but nothing worth going out of my way for. I would say that 80% of the vendors are fresh vegetables and fruits. Lots of Asian produce, which is always appreciated. We finally went to Millbrae Farmers Market after all these years seeing it across the street from where we stay when we're back in the Bay. We always wondered how it was as we love farmers markets. Too bad it took us this long to finally check it out. We made arrangements with coworkers who live in nearby Daly City to meet there with their kids. We bought a variety of things. I bought peaches and blueberries for my coworkers. My lady got a couple of desserts from Ube Galore and some banana walnut bread and pizzete flatbreads from the baker who was at the market. We also got some kalua pork empanadas from him. All the pastries and desserts were good. The empanadas were just ok. The kalua pork couldve used some more smokiness to them. There are a variety of fruit, vegetables, seafood, local honey, bread, pastries, etc for you to choose from. Although small in scale (I believe it was bigger before) there are still some good options. Currently occupies a parking lot just off El Camino... You cant miss it if you drive by Downtown Millbrae on Saturday mornings. read more

Really hope that they have some other type of product as well, such as diary products or seafood or meat. It would also help if there are some more food stand for light bite and drinks. read more

A very cozy market and a popular destination for Asian moms (my mom comes here every week). The veggies and fruits are all fresh and local which is a huge plus! My mom and I go every Saturday except when they're closed!! There is street parking but the driveway is also blocked off on Broadway street, so people are able to diagonally park on the driveway area. There is usually a stand that sells focaccia bread, cheesecake bites, green onion pancake, honey, eggs, strawberries, orchids and more. I don't think strawberries are in season so he hasn't been around. One of the most popular stand is the one near the sign in the front on Broadway side and there is always a lot of people buying there. It's pretty reasonable priced, a bunch of veggies like yow choy or bok choy for a 1 dollar... Or some things $2 per pound. The other stand I like going to is closer to the El cAmino side near Cheung Hing (next to the stand that sells fruits), they have nice fresh veggies and the guy always cuts our sugar cane for us, in pieces, usually he cuts them big. Almost every Saturday my mom and I are there ! I've seen some coworkers there that live elsewhere come here, so it's. Pretty legit! I love Farmers Markets mainly for supporting the local vendors and getting fresh produce and baked goods that are not readily available in your large franchise grocery stores. The Millbrae Farmers Market is small enough to walk through in 5 minutes, and the vendors are super friendly, and offer top notch quality goods. My favorite vendors are: Made out of Dough Scones (different flavors every week- sweet and savory like sundried tomatoes and artichoke, blueberry apricot, strawberry and sour cream, cheddar and bacon!), also Cuneo Bakery offers great fresh focaccia breads (rosemary garlic, white onion and black pepper, green olive tomato to name a few). Huh? A farmer's market in Millbrae? That's right folks. This is held on Saturdays in the early morning till about 1 pm or so. Look for the parking lot adjacent to The Kitchen (formerly Seafood Harbor RIP) dim sum seafood restaurant. Pitifully small, but this particular market appeals to those into Chinese groceries. Here's a breakdown of what to expect here: First stall nearest the El Camino side is a stall that sells only fruit. Almost always navel oranges, with some grapes. Today there were large dark plums, persimmons, something that looked like satsuma mandarins but more bitter and strong flavor. The oranges are usually nice here. A 10 lb bag of baby navels will set you back $4 to $6 depending on season, but today they were $4, or 60 cents a lb for self pick, bigger kind. Great for juicing too. Stall next to it sells mostly Chinese veggies, generally for $1 a small bundle, but practically fresher than any 99 Ranch or Marina market (as well as SF Chinatown). At least I don't taste that nasty pesticide and sewage from these farmers. Stall next to that a bit further down is a Mexican farmer who sells things from tomatoes, various fruits, few kinds of melon/squash. Across the stall from him is another Chinese farmer family that sells also fairly good variety of Chinese veg/produce (and also nice quality). And right across from them is Cuneo Bakery and their killer lineup of focaccia's (see review below). Next to the bakery stall is a stall that sells bottled honey...not terribly interesting. Next or across from them is a guy selling flowers from his van. The remaining two stalls nearby are one person selling only strawberries, and the last stall is a Mexican farmer who sells some of the best grapes. Last week he had persimmons (tasty too). Offerings are always seasonal, but the Chinese veggies look like they are offered practically all year round. Support your local farmers and smaller farmers markets! read more

Hehe, the college kid working at that "The Hummus Guy" stand was so cute and nice. Their artichoke hummus and 'Pure Baba' baba ganoush are truly outstanding. He offered me their 'Super Bowl special' pricing, even though he said I didn't seem like the Super Bowl type. (He was right, of course, but the assumption made me feel even gayer than usual...what tipped him off??) The farmer's market itself is rather small, with limited selection, but what there is is generally of high quality. I've gotten delicious fresh grapes and citrus here, and the stand closest to Broadway has great bell peppers. read more

Great place to buy groceries for the week! How do I know? Because that's what my wife and I have been doing for the last several months. It also motivates us to get up early on Saturday morning. Fresh fruits and vegetables for cheap! Way cheaper than what we could buy at Lucky's, Safeway, or even Trader Joe's. The vendors typically remain the same, but the vegetables sometimes changes a bit. Usually $1.00 for a bundle of veggies. Most fruits have been $1.00 - $1.50 a pound and most vendors let you mix and match. They also provide samples before you buy! Strawberries and other berries are $2.50 for a small basket or $5.00 for three small baskets. There are fresh eggs, but we've never bought... too expensive... There's a honey vendor. Bought once and tastes good, but a bit expensive. There's a vendor that sells breads. Bought once or twice. Tastes good. Not something we regularly buy because of price. read more

I'm used to bustling and packed Farmer Markets with an abundance of vendors to browse from but i'm in Millbrae so I guess as Farmer Markets go, this is A-OK! I walked through all the stands and bought a bunch of zuchinnis and veggies for two bucks! Actually, it was just supposed to be 2 zuchinnis and 1 veggie (chinese gua) but the seller through in 3 more zuchinnis for free! Another two vendors down, the voice calling out "free smoked salmon samples" lured me to his stand like a siren lures unsuspecting men at sea. At least 8 different varieties of smoked salmon flavors ranging from lemon pepper, garlic, to your regular plain old smoked salmon for sale. The "brick" type smoked salmon this vendor had definitely had the smokey flavor infused into the salmon. The other smoked salmon (non brick style) was a little bit fishier but makes better for a lox & bagel. If my intentions were to buy this salmon for a salad, I would have definitely bought the "brick". However, I was in the mood for a lox & bagel so I bought the other style salmon in the lemon pepper flavor. I'm sitting now at home writing this review and enjoying my lox & bagel that I made with the delicious smoked salmon I got at the market. I love that I live in Millbrae and that a quaint, little Farmer Market is so close to me. Friendly vendors, cheap and fresh produce...what more can you ask for? But we did get some nice blood oranges and a big juicy pomelo~ they had a hummus tent and one with flowers but mainly I was just happy about the blood oranges. read more

Some items are priced lower than Lucky or Safeway (cherry tomatoes at $1/lb! very sweet too!), some the same but better quality ($2/lb grapes that are literally sweet like honey!). I've been to this Farmers Market on and off for the last three or four years. It appears to have gotten smaller, if that's possible. I was there yesterday and there were about 10 vendors total. The majority of the vendors carried Asian veggies, there were 2 strawberry vendors, 2 or 3 flower/plant vendors and I think that's it. Cuneo's bakery was a mainstay back in the day, but apparently no more. I picked up some bittermelon and daikon radish from a quite surly woman. I don't know why it is that Asian vendors treat me so badly...I suppose it's might be because I don't speak the language. Hello....not my fault!!!!! My father's Asian, my mother's Polynesian. We were raised speaking English. Not my choice. My parents shared a common tongue and that was English. Again, not my choice...I wish they would have taught me their indigenous languages , but they didn't. read more

I like that this farmers market doesn't open too early, but I wish they were open a bit later, and on Sundays too, not just Saturdays. With that said, they have a delicious assortment of fresh local produce, including both fruits and vegetables, which tastes so much better than if you were to purchase it at your local supermarket or grocery store. read more

My new go to for fresh fruits and veggies brought in from Central California. What I love about this FM is that it is down to earth and for the community. It certainly menans something to see all the local chinese grandmas come to the same place to shop. Most veggies are only $1 for an entire bunch. right next to "The Kitchen". the parking lot as people said is awfully small. you must find parking elsewhere in order to get out and walk around. the food such as vegetables and fruits are really fresh. We usually come here to visit this guy who sells orchids. then we go right across from him to the farmers to buy fruits. i'm not really sure if these guys sell pure organic or they have pesticides used. this place is definitely a great visit on a nice and sunny day when your free in millbrae. i think it takes place on saturdays SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL FARMERS ! read more

Maybe the best small farmers' market in the Bay Area. You can find a wide range of both typical and unusual range of produce, especially Asian and Latin American varieties. Vendors are humble family farmers, and their kids are on hand to help out. Very authentic and honest place to buy produce. read more

About a dozen vendors, mostly fruit and vegetables. Many of the vendors have organic food, but not all. There are also a couple of flower vendors and one guy selling plants. Recently (July/August) it's been great - fresh juicy peaches, nectarines and plums for $1/pound; organic tomatoes for $2/lb. Year-round, there are squash and greens and basic vegetables, and there's always some kind of new in-season asian item to try. (what do I do with bitter melon?) Came down here to have brunch today and noticed the Farmer's Mkt so i stopped by after brunch. A bit small, as all the others already mentioned. I did notice that the prices seem lower than most Farmer's Mkt, at least the ones in SF! And i noticed alot of Chinese shoppers here.... I bought a lb of cherry tomatoes for $1.50 /lb. I also bought raisin bread. I got 2 bunches of orchids as well. I wanted to buy more but there wasn't much here. I saw a vendor selling sugar cane but my teeth are so bad i can't really work them. If they juiced them, I'd definitely have some!! I'd come back next time when I come back for lunch. I should explore the other Farmer Mkts around. read more

This is a great place to come for cheap produce as well as a few booths that have specialty items. If you come last minute, stands will drop their prices and you can get really good deals. The only trade off is that the selection is limited at this point and there are booths trying to convince you that certain produce are organic when it's clear that they aren't!! read more

Very limited organic options (I've only seen organic strawberries), but reasonable to cheap prices for local produce. Lots of Asian vegetables that I don't see at other markets, like bitter melon, endless varieties of bok choy, and others I'm not as familiar with but want to try. Don't come expecting to have lunch at the market, but you'll only need to walk a few feet to hit some great Millbrae restaurants. read more

I am a Farmers market junky. I love the SF farmers market - even if that place is so expensive!! I found Millbrae FM and they have great fruits and Veggies. small family type atmosphere!
