Just finished a trail ride with David and his team. So much fun! David was very gracious with my last minute call. He did not make any promises but said he'd call me right back to let me know either way. He fit us in and we had a great time. Horses are well taken care of, they are healthy and not overworked. Company no-showed 2x in one day! We had a 12 pm horse ride confirmed with several reminders via texts and email. Our party showed up 30 minutes before the expect time, as instructed. There was no one there. I called the company. Brenda answered. I stated that our party is at the gate and waiting for a member or further instructions. She insisted that there was no booking for 12 pm. I had several confirmations, including an email. I had a difficult time trying to explain this as she kept insisting that there was no booking . I could not get a word in. When i tried to state my case, I was told that I was interrupting and was persistent about the booking mistake as though we were at fault. She gave us the option of rebooking. Since we were from out of town and had driven a distance, we said that 2 pm same-day would be okay. And that we would be back. She recommended a couple of areas to see, which we appreciated. We came back before 2 pm. No one was there. Called 3x, left voicemails, sent an email, sent a text. No answer until perhaps 2:45 pm with a text stating that a text-notification was sent. When I reviewed the text, it stated that we can reschedule or get a refund. However, it made no reference to what needed to be rescheduled: the 12 pm reservation (which was already rescheduled) or the 2 pm reservation. There was no further explanation. No apology for a second same-day cancellation. I understand if an emergency situation arises. But the least they could do was communicate BOTH of the cancellations better and more clearly. Answering phone calls would have also been a good business model. Several calls, voicemail, an email, texts from a customer only to be deflected. The owner needs to take accountability. I do not appreciate the gaslighting. read more

My boyfriend and I went on a trail ride today with David and Maria and it was a wonderful time. They are both very nice people, and have very nice horses. We saw lots of wildlife on our ride, took lots of photos, and overall had an amazing experience with them! We will definitely be coming back here in the future and recommend it to anyone! read more

I had a great ride with Dave on May 21, 2026. I have patronized a number of trailride outfits in several states and two overseas, and I'd put Coastside at the top of the pack. The horses looked to be in the peak of health, their hooves were in excellent condition, and the horse equipment was clean and in fine condition. Dave was an excellent host and we really enjoyed sharing stories and local knowledge. I would not hesitate to bring my grandchildren, none of whom ride, to go out on the trail with this organization. Highly recommended. A word to visitors new to the Bay Area: There's fog at the coast every month of the year. Bring layers. read more

My husband got me horseback riding with Coastal for a Christmas present. It was one of my favorite experiences that we have done together. Dave and Brenda were great. Dave took the time to talk to us to get to know us so he could pair us with a compatible horse. He gave great instructions. The horses were lovely and well trained. The trail was fun with beautiful view. Dave was fun and engaging. He made sure to keep an eye on everyone while we were riding. Just an all-around great experience. If you are a novice rider and want to go riding for the first time this is the place you want to go. read more

I have a bit more experience riding horses so I got a ride, the lovely Georgia. The owner David knew so much about the land and the history of the place. This was truly great trail ride! read more

My 9yo and I had a fantastic ride with Dave and Julia on a Saturday in November. We are beginners and they were so patient with us. They are truly kind people who know who to work with kids who need a little extra help. We also loved our horses Whiskey and Blackjack! It was a great day. Had a great time on our ride yesterday. We had beautiful weather and just an overall great day. We have done a few other trail rides with different companies in the past and have been put off by their care of their animals. That was not the case here. Clearly, the owners love and care for their horses. They take the time to match each person with the appropriate horse. David is clearly passionate about the area and the animals. We had such a great time. The hour flew by so quickly. It's clear that the horses are incredibly well cared for and truly loved by their owners. My partner and I were both nervous at first since it was our first time riding, but David and Julia made us feel completely safe and comfortable. They thoughtfully paired each of us with a horse that matched our personality, and I got the calmest and sweetest girl, Pocahontas.
