Husband and I were in the area visiting from Austin, TX on a little road trip. Usually on our drives up to North Texas/Oklahoma, we like to stop at Braums, because we don't have that down in central Texas. But when we saw this place when we were walking around Medicine Park, we decided to forgo Braums, and try cobblestone instead. And it did not disappoint! Trying to understand their handwritten menu took me a little bit of time, but I eventually got it. Their flavors were mostly fruit flavors, but there were a couple of non-fruit flavors to choose from as well. Husband and I decided to try their three scoop combo, with graham crackers and chocolate chips on top, and their bourbon caramel sauce. The ice cream flavors we got were coconut, cheesecake, and I believe something with peanut butter in it. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about their coconut ice cream, because generally, I'm not the biggest fan of coconut ice cream, but I severely underestimated it. Their coconut flavor was probably my favorite one out of all of the flavors! For the three scoop combo, I believe we paid like six or seven something dollars. While that may seem steep to some, like I said, we live in Austin, Texas, and things are quite expensive there. At some places in Austin, one scoop can equal anywhere from 4 to 5 dollars. So when we saw THREE scoops for 1-2 more bucks? Shoot, that was a deal for us. They have little tables outside you can sit at. And it's right across from the lake which is lovely. Christy and kavon were super nice however we got a five scoop pint and the ice cream did not taste good it was icy and had very little flavor. Maybe the ice cream was old because it was the off season I don't know don't understand all of the other five star reviews the workers are super nice but the ice cream was disappointing went down the street to the bakery and the Blue Bell ice cream was much better. read more

I didn't even know I wanted a scoop of icecream until Cobblestone told me I did! I had just finished taking a stroll along the water after a bunch at Riverside when my date spotted this little gem. He had been in the area a couple of times before and never remembered seeing it around. Its ice cream, and since I skipped dessert at Riverside and I was all sweaty from the walk, of course I had to stop in. The shop is small, but cute. Old school dairy and cow decorations everywhere. One of the first things I noticed was that they actually make fresh waffle cones on site themselves! Fresh batter, onto the waffle iron, shaped into a bowl or cone, all right behind the counter. I'm sure other places do too, but I've just never seen it! Anywho.. there was a variety of flavors to choose from (mudslide, butter pecan, mint, banana, coffee, orange creamsicle, cheesecake, strawberry, birthday cake, chocolate, vanilla - that's all I remember, there may have been more). Like most ice cream parlors, they do give samples. They do the coldstone/ marble slab type of deal where you pick your flavor then pick your add ins, and then they mix it all up on a cooled surface and put it in your bowl or come for you. I picked cheesecake with blackberries and fudge. You can tell the ice cream is homemade and not bought somewhere else and shipped in. It was sooo creamy! Ice cream is the way to my heart. No clue if the ice cream is any good as we were so turned off by the rude young person behind the counter we just left. Truly all we asked for was a trash bag to pick up melted ice cream napkin messes. In fact, she said we could carry them back and forth (outside on balcony to inside the store). It was just weird. Pleasantly surprised by this new find in Medicine Park. Ice cream was a tad expensive but worth it. Made on-site, good base with a nice texture. We were generously offered samples when we asked about some of the flavors. We noticed some flavors were more soft set than others and that the marble slab for mix-ins could be colder (or the mixing done a little faster) to slow melting. A good experience, we'll definitely be back. read more
