My boyfriend got a large Old Fashioned burger, while I got a medium Swiss and Mushroom burger. Next time I will be going to a small because the portion sizes were larger than expected, but I had gotten the biggest bang for my buck. A personal rule of mine is when you go to a restaurant and the food is good, the dessert is usually bad and vice versa. This little hole in the wall broke my rule. It's charming in its own way, but not the vintage Route 66 ambiance I was expecting. One thing that deserves high praise is the cleanliness. The café is immaculate, from the dining room to the overall presentation, reflecting a team that clearly takes pride in maintaining the restaurant. The food, unfortunately, was less memorable. The oatmeal was overly thick and dry, lacking the creamy comfort you'd expect. Buttered toast carried an off flavor, suggesting the griddle or butter station could use a refresh.
