We've been to Wright's a few times, it was okay. Yesterday we stopped in for breakfast. My husband's plate arrived, he looked at it and pushed it toward me. Then he pointed at it .....a red hair across the plate. I motioned the waitress over, pointed to the plate and the hair and voiced our concern about the hair. She quickly pulled the plate off the table and took it to the prep area. She returned to tell us it was from a cooked egg white strand. We both had observed that it was red hair. GROSS!!! The food was over priced, to begin with and then we were lied to. And the bill was close to $40. So yea, no tip for lying and no more patronage!!!! We decided to visit during Fort Sill's Family Day. Glad we did. The customer service was absolutely amazing. From the time we arrived southern hospitality rang supreme. They were very fast with getting us seated and serving us. The food came hot and quick. Everything was very tasty and made fresh. The bacon was very good. It was not salty and was well cooked. When there is good bacon restaurant then you can drop the mic. The mic has been dropped . Everything overall was splendid. I highly recommend Wright's Family Diner any day of the week. My husband and I went to Lawton for an eye appointment, we stopped at Wrights for lunch. My husband ordered the chicken fry, it was large but thin. He said it was okay. The mashed potatoes and gravy were lacking. You could tell it was packaged gravy and potatoes. The okra was good I ordered the Philly cheese steak. Comes with mashed potatoes and 2 other sides of your choice for $14.99. Very tender- you could cut it with a fork. Service was good. We were in and out in about 45 minutes at lunchtime. A friend of mine had told me that their chicken livers were awesome and a huge pile so I was intrigued . Had lunch there today. had chicken livers that were burned to a crisp and certainly not a heaping pile of livers. I put them in a box took them home and fed them to my dog. Good food, nice facilities, great service. Worse policy in town. It is 2020 and they do not allow debit or credit card. It is Oklahoma and they demand concealment of a licensed open carry self defense weapon. There are a plethora of out of state tractor trailers, and all manner of passers by off the interstate. I take the ol' lady and 3 girls below the age of 10 out to eat. I am forced to carry our defense in a manner that is more limiting, and am unable to use plastic. I otherwise enjoy the place greatly as do the girls, but we will not walk in the door again if we show up and have signs demanding legally open carried firearms be concealed and I am required to carry cash. read more

Nice little place. The food was good enough. First night I had chicken strips, nice fresh salad, real mashed potatoes, & black eyed peas. The strips were very good, 5 or 6 really big strips. The menu said they were breaded on site, I believe they were. Second night I had hamburger steak, onions and brown gravy. It was ok, but nothing special. What did impress me was the two waitresses. Famous for the chicken fried steak. Had the ham steak and egg to stay made a to go order of the chicken and fried steak for the next day. I didn't bother looking at it until the following day when I was ready to warm it up for breakfast. It was burnt, the meat was like leather. I went to return it because my hotel is just around the corner, and when I did one of the waitresses proclaimed that wasn't from last night, that's weeks old. She described exactly the way it looked. I get it sometimes cooks make mistakes, but being called a liar by a waitress is above and beyond rude and there is no way the cooks didn't know they were putting this piece of garbage in my to go to container. They ended up cooking me a fresh chicken fried steak dinner to go. Yes the chicken fried steak was large, yes there was a lot of food, what was it worth it? No. It lacks flavor.
