As a comparison, my husband regularly had new soles put on his leather Johnson and Murphy shoes at Charlies in Braintree, now closed, for 40.00. I went to Vincenzo Shoe Repair, Weymouth Landing and had them done for 35.00 and they are beautiful. The owner is a true craftsman and pleasant to work with. I'm sure they do a good job just be prepared to pay big OR you can look around like I did.

When I went to get them on the 26th, I was told that they were not ready. I indicated that we would need them by Nov 5, and was assured that they would be ready. I stopped at the store on the 5th, and discovered that they were not ready as promised. When I complained to somebody who I presumed was the owner, his response was 'this is the first customer service problem we've had in 96 years of business,' as if that were supposed to reassure me. I was promised the shoes by 2:00 that afternoon. When I returned to pick them up, they were finally ready, and the young man working there all but threw them at me. I have experienced bad customer service, but this was a cut above bad-it was rude and showed no consideration for me as a customer. I am now a former customer of Larossa Shoe Repair and will never do business with them again. The rudeness and negative attitudes on display there were unforgivable.

I recently brought her a beautiful brocade skirt I got a crazy good deal on but was way too small on me - brought her the matching top that was also too small on me and asked her to use that fabric to make the skirt fit. You can't even tell where she added the fabric - it looks flawless. Brought her some other delicate items like embroidered pants that I didn't even know whether cutting and hemming was possible - she did it no problem. Shortening the sleeves on a massive knit sweater - no problem. She does such a great job and is very sweet and has an excellent memory. Highly recommend!
