I brought several items to this location... I will not be back. 1. I brought in a horse halter to have a name plate put on it. It was put on upside down. Fine, not common knowledge and it was fixed the same day while I waited. However, not even a week later, it detached. Now I have to bring it back. As a person who works 9-5, the hours are not ideal, to say the least. 2. I brought in a pair of riding boots. The toes were coming unstitched and the outer sole was coming unglued. I told them they didn't have to polish the boots. However, when I got them back the glue used to reattach the toes was all over the boots. Never seen anything like that. And, they still leak if they get wet. 3. A pair of Cole Haan boots. The workmanship seems fine, but they were not cleaned up at all. read more

This time I decided to support local business and brought several pairs of high-end designer shoes to repair. The result is shockingly disappointing! Photos can speak more than words. My shoes are ruined!! The leather was scuffed during the repair, glue marks a lot and very visible, the resole part was chopped poorly. If you have luxury designer shoes, DON'T BRING THEM here! I have rarely been this disappointed with a business. The cobblers themselves seem to be very nice and completely incompetent. I took my favorite pair of boots to them to be re-soled, as both soles had gotten cracked and were leaking. I requested very rugged, thick soles, if they had them. When I got them back, the soles were not that thick, very smooth (dangerously so on any floor surface) on the bottom, and not very flexible. Oh well, I thought. Then I had to take them back as the cobbler had not apparently done anything about the inner side of the cracks, which were now poking painfully into my feet. They had instead inserted thick removable insoles to cover the problem -- so thick that my toes were going to sleep due to lack of space inside the book. Took them back, got that fixed. OK, surely that's the end of it, I thought. Now the new, thicker sole -- less than two weeks after the repair, with no heavy use of the boots at all -- is actually COMING UNGLUED from where they stuck it to the old sole (instead of re-bloody-soling the things), apparently with Spirit Gum. I went here years ago, had several pairs of shoes re-heeled, so I was feeling confident when I dropped off a pair of boots. Now, they weren't expensive boots, but I did not anticipate that after they attached the new heels and filed down the sides of the new heels to get them to fit, that they would actually carve in to the heels themselves. They had actually filed down the actual heels themselves, I could hardly ever where the boots again after that, they look a dog chewed on them! Needless to say that I have never been back again after that last experience. read more

$35 for new heels for husband's shoes. Less than 3 months later, they are coming unglued. Even when I first picked them up, they looked sloppy and not well repaired. The owner was rude and defensive when I asked about a pair of sport sandals I was having stitched (those are another story.... I've been back 3 times to try to get that rectified). It wouldn't be quite so terrible if the owner wasn't so incredibly rude. Another few reviewers commented on the same thing so I am clearly not alone in this. read more

I was so happy when I first found Eagle Shoe Repair. The father daughter team there on Saturday was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I needed soles and Velcro closures replaced on some specially made molded shoes and they said they could indeed do the work. Last Friday I picked them up. The was another man there, much less friendly who greeted me by saying " you're lucky you made it I'm going to close at 2. (The posted hour are 9-4). But the real shock was the cost. The total cost was $332.00! Furthermore, once home I realized only half the Velcro was replaced, only the hoop part not the hook side. When I questioned the price I was told that's what it costs, cash or check only. Maybe this is what it cost to replace soles on molded shoes but I was shocked at the price and feel I should have at least been warned of the cost before the work was done. I really wanted to love this place and promote it but can't help feeling I was taken advantage of. read more

I wish I could give zero stars!!!! Avoid this business like the plague. My story. I brought a pair of Johnson & Murphy shoes to be resoled. The first repair didn't take and the second one turn them into Frankenstein shoes. They totally ruined a $200 pair of shoes and wouldn't refund the cost of the repair so I was out another $50. I couldn't wear the shoes because they looked like lifts so I donated them. Out $50 and a pair of shoes. read more

My wife's boots started to lose coloring in the toe and heal of the boots. They matched the color and buffed the pair of shoes. They were almost like new. The soles were getting worn and they were able to add on an additional layer that was very thin but definitely gave them back tread. The boots were from Aldos, not very well made to begin with, but the repairs were only $35 and gave them new life. The repairs were done within a few days. read more

The gentleman who helped me was very nice. I brought a pair of boots that needed the zipper replaced and a pair of shoes that needed a new heel. He did a nice job on the heels and you can't tell that the zipper was replaced on my boot. They only accept cash or checks. When I went to pick up my shoes I was unaware of this and was $5 short in cash. The gentleman told me not to worry about it. I thought that was so nice of him. Great work and kind people. I happened to be in the area so I stopped in to get my favorite boots repaired. They ripped on the seam and honestly, I wasn't sure if they could be fixed. They were able to fix them and did an amazing job. They now look brand new and for a great price price of $15. This is a truly wonderful find. Three generations of this family have put there heart and soul into shop. Which explains why they're not just the last cobbler in Norwood, but the last for a about a 5 town radius. They can do it all, new sole, new heel, or even just best cleaning and shine you've ever had for just a few bucks. read more

I brought a pair of my husband's shoes in for repair. They needed heels and I questioned the cobbler as to whether he felt they needed soles to which he replied "NO". I paid $25 and dropped of a second pair which did need heels and soles for $55. Within 3 wearings of the first pair, a hole appeared in the sole. I brought them back and asked to have soles to which he replied would now cost me $40. When I questioned the cobbler, he became very defensive and rude. Needless to say, I took the shoes and left. Hello, I get shoes repaired about once a year here for that last 5 years with no problem. Usual task involves stitching or gluing shoes and uppers. The price is right, the turn around quick (2 days) and the folk are polite and respectful. They do not try to up-sell shoe products which I appreciate. All in all, I will continue to frequent their shop with all my shoe repair business. read more

They do nice work here and are very pleasant. They recently saved a pair of shoes I like by fixing the tips and heels.
