    Poutine, so yum.

This was one of the few places open for lunch on Christmas Eve and it looked inviting and warm. The space is open, airy, and gorgeous. The staff was kind despite our lack of French and the food was also great. Portions were generous with enough to take home. Recommend trying the Poutine Tout Cochon, the Caesar salad with chicken, and the Old Fashioned Hot Chocolate. Bathrooms were nice (and gender neutral single stalls, yay!). Definitely recommend - this was an easy walk from the Christmas Market as well.

I really love what they've done with the space. The restaurant looks beautiful and the seating is so comfortable and inviting. I've had dinner a handful of times here now and the service is great, the food is fresh, and the location is ideal. My favourite dish has been the seafood pie. It is packed with flavour and fresh seafood. The tartare is also good! The seafood roll is good but I wish they had a buttered option. The Kit Kat latte cold is a treat and they also have matcha not on the menu! It's definitely somewhere I would go again.

We love this place and the service was great but last night we were there with a large group before attending an event at Les places des arts and almost missed our show after waiting an hour for our food. Maybe they were missing people in the kitchen or new people are getting trained but we got the sense from what we heard that they forgot our large order until our waitress reminded them? Again, we love the place and a couple of suggestions: A. Showtime: Food took over an hour to get and we made the show by 1 minute so if you are attending an 8pm, would book here for 5 or 530pm. B. Order your food asap and take your time afterwards with coffee and dessert C. Not great for large groups: Would keep your group to 4 max

It's a beautiful place located near places des arts and I'm sure it's a vibe during busy times (thurs-sat) but the food is surprisingly lacking. It looks good, but for a luxury restaurant it chooses to be, it was underwhelming. The salmon tartar is what really made it to three stars....for Montreal it was embarrassingly awful and trust, I am not a picky eater! Otherwise, service was very accommodating considering we came close to kitchen closing time (along with other guests) and they allowed all of us to stay past closing time with no attitude. Very thoughtful. Also, beautiful bathroom design!

Perfect Brunch! I was in Montreal for a conference and was looking for a great solo brunch spot. Cochon Dingue was a winner! I sat at the bar and indulged. The restaurant has a great energy and is open and bright. The bar is spacious and has wireless phone chargers built into the bar and TVs. The servers speak both French and English and they were perfectly attentive. The Brunch Plate is a MUST. It has everything you could possibly want. I loved this restaurant and will definitely go back when Montreal.

Our server was nice and respectful and help us explained the menu well in English and French! The food was excellent for our first time in Montreal filled with unexpected flavors that I'm not used to at home! The ambiance can work as both a brunch space and dinner with friends!

We had a good lunch here on a Sunday. We ate lunch late and this is as one of few places in the area that hadn't closed to prep for dinner service, so we were very thankful for the ability to eat a late lunch. The decor is modern and a bit quirky, with flying pigs hanging from the ceiling. Our server was chill and good. I had the burger and it was good, a pretty standard burger. However, I asked to extra pickles and they definitely delivered! Also they had a curry mayo option as a sauce for the fries, and it was unique and delicious! My dad had the Philly Cheesesteak, which he said tasted good but that it was not a Philly Cheesesteak, more of just a smoked meat sandwich. It also said in the menu that the sandwich would come with au jus, but it was actually more of a gravy. My dad also had a side of poutine, which was a unique version but good. Overall a decent meal and just what we need at that weird lunch hour.

You want to be brought in and it's dark and moody with the BEST craft cocktail list. The theme is duck - which is so fun. Our bartender was OUTSTANDING. The first time, the music was extremely loud, and it seemed like they were short-staffed. The bar was completely packed, and there was only one bartender making drinks, so the wait was a bit longer than expected. We decided to give it another try, and I'm so glad we did. The second visit was amazing! The bartender working that night was incredible--she clearly knows her craft and made our drinks quickly without sacrificing quality. Every cocktail was delicious, and the overall experience was much more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend The Coldroom. My only suggestion would be that, with a space that busy, the bar could really benefit from having an additional bartender during peak hours. It would help keep wait times down and make an already great experience even better.

YES TO EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE…read more You walk in and are immediately immersed in a forest like ambiance. Hanging plants and funky music draw you into the main bar area as you're greeted by the server. Jess was energetic, attentive, & super knowledgeable. She made awesome recommendations and gave us some of the best service we have received in Montreal! We started with the Burrata & Prosciutto which came with some legitimately delicious fresh baked bread that was similar to naan. A lighter portion but enough for 5 of us to pick at. We followed with some pizza - the Mush Pit 2.0, Salsiccia di Vitello, & the Bianca Royale (which Jess recommended). Each pizza had 6 slices and the crust was on the thinner side. Each one would get 10 stars across the board, seriously. Two of us shared the Caribbean Queen which was a rum based cocktail that came with a little ~ razzle dazzle ~! Seriously one of the best meals & some of the best service we experienced during our week long trip. Food and drinks came quickly and there was plenty of seating. THANK U JESS!!

I thought I understood the plan…read more We arrived at Wolf & Workman and I spotted the outdoor tables in front. Ah. Dog seating. I know how this works. But then something unexpected happened. They took me INSIDE. Through the restaurant. And out the other side into this absolutely fantastic hidden courtyard. Excuse me?? Why did nobody tell me we had upgraded accommodations? The back patio is one of those spaces you'd never know existed from the street. There are stone walls, greenery climbing everywhere, strings of lights overhead and some seriously cool artwork and murals. It feels tucked away from the bustle of Old Montreal and, once the lights came on, had a really warm, relaxed atmosphere. Most importantly, nobody seemed remotely concerned that a tiny Italian Greyhound had joined the dinner party. I was welcomed right in. Mum ordered the trout over couscous, which looked extremely impressive. She did give me some of the trout. Dad ordered the steak frites. I repeat: Dad ordered steak. At a dog-friendly restaurant. While sitting next to a dog. He did not share. I feel like we've covered this issue before. Dad had wine, Mum had a Diet Coke, and I spent much of dinner curled up comfortably with Mum while monitoring the steak situation. There were developments. None favorable to me. But Wolf & Workman is exactly the kind of place we're always hoping to find when traveling: somewhere the humans don't have to compromise on having a genuinely great dinner just because I'm with them. This wasn't simply "there are a couple of tables outside where you can put the dog." I got the good patio. Dogba's verdict: 5 paws out of 5. Dog welcome: enthusiastic Surprise hidden courtyard: exceptional Murals: excellent photo opportunities Evening atmosphere: Mum approved Mum's trout: apparently delicious Dad ordering steak in my presence: provocative Wine for Dad: yes Steak for Dogba: I'd prefer not to discuss it Would absolutely return. Although next time, when someone says Wolf & Workman, I expect considerably more attention to the wolf portion of the clientele.
