The wine came within 2 minutes and the burgers arrived 3 minutes after that. I had the David smash with poutine and my husband had the Sacre Bleu with onion rings. Both were fantastic. The David smash was exactly the right size for me and the poutine was great. The onion rings were crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. My husband loved his burger too. My friend and i underestimated how much food we ordered and the were kind enough to move us to another table and assisted with us getting seated seamlessly without being responsible for carrying anything over. They really know how to describe what eat dish was and what to expect when ordering the specific items. During the summers they have a cutie patio where you can enjoy your coffee brunch and just enjoy the outdoor air and feel the sun it's such a nice feeling. Don't be intimidated by the french, the menu still has english on it but if you need a better description that's where the server fills in the blank. Our server, Max, was doing his best to respond to all our questions and requests. I ordered the poutine with duck confit. We split a great Caesars salad, punctuated with anchovies and grated cheese. It was fresh and very good! This was my first time having poutine and I was not disappointed. For $46 CAD, this was a great value and perhaps the best value of anything I experienced in Montreal while attending the Jazz Fest. I can well imagine this would be best during the cold of winter, because this will stick to your ribs and you will not need to eat for another eighteen hours. The components were good individually: crispy fries with fluffy interior, savory gravy, rich cheese curds, and crisp duck leg that pops with savory flavor matching the gravy. You will be challenged to eat it all in one seating. That confit remains in my culinary memory. It all comes together nicely and the ensemble of flavors and textures is very satisfying and many would find this great comfort food. At $85 CAD and change, this was a great value and leaves one with great satisfaction in a beautiful bistro. It is one of those places that delivers above its weight and will have you return. I went for the traditional mussels as Andrew said this is a thing to get in Montreal, they will do it well. He was right, the bowl was huge and the mussels and sauce were excellent. The only thing I would change is I like a baguette with mussels more than fries so if that is an available substitution I would be all in. I loved this place, I would go back again when I return to Montreal.
