Pre paid parts and then they vanished. It took 3 months to get my oven fixed, it still doesn't work.

Well I am giving them a two because at least they showed up but they never returned. What is with these appliance repair shops? You want our business but can't be bothered to return calls or texts. After numerous attempts to reach this company for over one month, I have given up and decided to simply post a negative review without giving them a chance to give me a partial refund. Our Whirlpool dishwasher heating element died a year after installation of this brand new appliance in 2021. Whirlpool sent out Cochrane Appliance Repair (CAR) to do the warranty work. A CAR technician named Luke apparently knew what he was doing because the first person CAR sent out didn't resolve the issue. Only three years later and the element failed again. This is the third heating element in about 4 years! My tenant could see the corrosion on the element and that it needed replacement. We called CAR again and asked for Luke, but they sent out another guy. CAR charged me $100 to basically run the dishwasher and come up with the same conclusion that the element needed replacement. CAR came back a few days later and installed a new element and charged me another $100 for 30 minutes of labor (that's $200/hour!) plus the cost of the part which was about $65. I don't know where they are getting these crappy dishwasher elements from or why they don't have a stash of them in their truck. They could have just made one trip to the house and saved me some money. I called them and emailed them many times to ask why they charged me for 1 hour of labor when my tenant told me they were there for 30 minutes. They never answer their messages, likely since I already paid them. I don't even know how my tenant was able to reach them in the first place. I gave them one extra star because they completed the repair in a reasonable amount of time given that they made an extra unnecessary trip to the house. I won't be using CAR again and I will shop around for an appliance repair company who doesn't overcharge their customers and who feels obligated to try and save their customers money for common repairs such as a dishwasher element. I phoned Whirlpool to complain about my experiences with CAR and Whirlpool notified me that CAR is no longer being retained as one of their warranty companies! No big surprise there. Maybe I will go as far as learning how to do this repair myself (when the heating element dies again in another two or three years)! read more

I've tried to use this local business after finding their website. I have left voicemail, email, and online requests for service. The company has not responded to email and has not answered nor returned my phone calls. Their phone mailbox is now full. I hope they are able to put in the effort to build trust with the community they purport to serve. I wish I had the opportunity to comment on the quality of their work. The review is a zero. They don't answer the phone or emails. Brandnew fridge froze up and is on warranty. This is the company they use for warranty work but they don't work at all! Steer clear of this so called company! read more

Just after Christmas, the interior lights, ice maker and water dispenser stopped working on our Kitchenaide refrigerator. We contacted the manufacturer in early January, who scheduled an appointment for us with their designated local repair company, Cochrane Appliance Repair. After taking time off work and waiting all day for someone to arrive, Cochrane Appliance Repair failed to show up for the first appointment. We were told the manufacturer failed to forward the appointment information to the repair company. A second service call was scheduled directly with Cochrane Appliance Repair, during which the technician diagnosed the issue as a faulty control panel. I was required to prepay over $500 for the replacement part, which I did. Despite the part being in stock at the supplier when the technician ordered it that day, it was only after my inquiring two months later that Cochrane Appliance Repair followed up on its whereabouts. Weeks later, during the third service call to replace the control panel, the technician determined that was not the issue, but instead the wiring harness required replacement. He ordered the wiring harness during his visit, which again indicated as being in stock at their supplier, and left taking the control panel I had prepaid for with him. Weeks later, Cochrane Appliance Repair scheduled yet another appointment to replace the faulty wiring harness, and again, after taking unpaid time off work, nobody showed up. No phone call, no email, no text, no nothing except I was out another 4 hours in lost wages and still did not have my fridge fixed. So after I contacted Cochrane Appliance Repair, they scheduled another appointment. During this appointment, the technician did not replace the wiring harness. After over 30 minutes of prying and reefing on the old wiring harness attempting to remove it using his "quick fix" method, he opted instead to try repairing multiple broken wire connections. Not surprisingly, this did not fully restore the functionality of our ice and water dispenser. The technician then left, taking the new wiring harness with him, indicating that he would need to consult the manufacturer and would call us in the morning with an update. That was over three weeks ago and we have not heard from anyone at Cochrane Appliance Repair since. I have left a voicemail and sent two emails to follow up, requesting I be fully refunded for the control panel that was not replaced. All I hear from Cochrane Appliance repair is crickets. Incompetent technician, abysmal customer care and support, and billing fraud is all you will get from Cochrane Appliance Repair. read more

We contacted Cochrane Appliance Repair thru their website to see about getting our fridge repaired but did not hear back from them. Should have left it at that. We left a phone message + they returned our call a week later. Rob diagnosed our issue over the phone + thru email told us that he needed pre-payment for the part before he could come out. I've never had to pay for a part in advance before but whatever, we sent the payment. In about 2 weeks, after a few emails, he finally made an appointment to come do the repair. He was 3 hours late + spent 15 minutes installing the new control board. $189 plus the part we already paid for. The invoiced part price was $50 less than what we had already paid but my wife didn't notice the difference + paid the $189. Realizing our mistake, I called Rob. He actually answered the phone + told me to text the invoice # + details and that he would e-transfer the overpayment to us. I politely reminded him via text and email after 1 week- no response. It's been 2 weeks since that call + we haven't heard a thing from him. Poor communication, overpriced work and pre-paying for a $200 part are good reasons why we will never use this service again and we recommend that you don't either. read more

Our ice machine stopped working the middle of May, I contacted the manufacturer and we were just out of warranty but they gave me a list of appliance repair dealers that were able to fix it. I contacted Cochrane Appliances to come out and assess the problem. A technician came out took a look at it and said that they'd have to order parts and that he would follow up with a quote to estimate how much repairs would be. A month later and we still haven't heard back from anyone and I have followed up with 2 emails and never gotten any response. Bad service. Would not recommend at all. read more
