Walked in on 4/1/17 to grab drinks for a buddy's BDay. I pulled up a chair to the bar so my friends and I could sit together. Before I could even sit down the bartender ask me ""am I making executive decisions?". He was so rude I thought he was joking. Then he comes from around the bar and takes the chair and told me to ask him if I want to move a sit like I was a kid. He seem to have one too many shots. Wow! I barely write reviews, but this experience is worth noting. A friend and I went to the bar for a beer and a shot; we had 2 rounds and left $80 lighter. We live in the neighborhood and come to this bar and other Bed-Vyne establishments frequently. It seems like Stephanie the bartender is there on again off again. I had the great fortune of attending a Yelp Christmas party here last year and was really amazed to see that such a cute bar existed within a mile of my house. So I decided it would be a good idea to come back when the drinks and food weren't free. Awesome decision. Can we just talk about the $10 cocktail menu? I was so impressed that for $10, you got some very tasty, well-made drinks. If you're a gin lover, Corpse Reviver #2 is a fresh, tangy cocktail you'll enjoy for $10. Did I mention all the drinks on the menu are $10? Lol. Okay I'll stop, but seriously? When's the last time you got such a good deal? I am looking forward to going back for a Happy Hour, when the drinks are even more inexpensive. Ambiance is great too...giving me hipster dive bar vibes, which means it was designed to feel trashy without actually being trashy. You know what that looks like. The crowd is friendly and diverse. I came in here on a Saturday night and wasn't too sure what to expect. It was full but not too crowded. There was very good energy all around. Everyone was talking, laughing, and just having a damn good time. I love that shit. I wish I could've stayed all night... I was being very indecisive but, thankfully, Neal, the bartender, just offered to make me a "bartender's choice". It was got dayum delicious! It tasted like an end of summer sunset dropped into orange juice. I didn't even ask what was in it...I respect the mystery. He also made me a Moscow mule which was probably the best one I've ever had!! My friend/business partner loved her cocktails as well! I was so thrilled with his skills and demeanor. Accidentally went here a day early for an event but I'm not disappointed in the slightest. 1- Ambiance - I can't quite figure out if this bar is going for a dive bar feel, but it sure does feel like the neighborhood watering hole for the residents of Bed-Stuy that can still afford the dam place. Plenty of seating and a backyard area make it excellent for events and groups, and there is plenty of bar seating for those who drink alone 2- Drinks - It's a bar, but they are more of a cocktail bar. In terms of beers they have Ithaca Flower Power IPA, Sagres Lager, Sagres Mini, Red Stripe, Heineken, and Empire Black Magic Stout. There is a frozen Cocktail of the day that's fun if you're looking to try some new flavor combinations in the form of frozen Margaritas 3- Music - Classic and modern Hip-hop that's sure to speak to any connoisseur of good music. As a recent transplant to Bed-Stuy, I've been making my way to all the local bars and restaurants within walking distance. I was excited about this bar based on the reviews, so my boyfriend and I stopped by on a Friday night. On the plus side, cocktails were 10 bucks, it was basically empty, and they had a nice outdoor seating area. However, the main point of going to a cocktail bar is to drink good cocktails, and that's where things fell apart. We both ordered the gimlet, which was not only on their menu, but is also a very basic, classic gin drink that isn't particularly hard to make. We took our drinks outside and started drinking only to discover that the ratio of lime juice to gin was way, way off. Basically we were drinking straight lime juice with maybe a drop of gin. Truthfully, this was one of the worst gimlets I've ever had. No need to return here anytime soon. read more

Came here on Saturday after everything in Bed-Stuy seemingly had a line because of the Building Black Bed-Stuy party at Sincerely Tommy. The manager was able to seat our group of 5 quickly, and we were eager to drink since they have Happy Hour every day ($8 drinks from 4-7pm). They require you to order a pizza from Tipoli Pizza in their backyard in order to be accordance of NY law, and our group was actually sooo hyped cause we love Tipoli from our indoor drinking days at the Bergen. I highly recommend the dencey pizza and the garden gimlet. Unfortunately, our excitement was dampened because our drinks took quite some time to come out. This remained consistent as we ordered multiple rounds so I'm assuming they didn't have much help at the bar. The manager was so nice though and gave us a free shot when we got the check to thank us for our patience. All in all, I'll definitely come back, but will hopefully catch them on a less busy night. read more

I absolutely love this place. This is my go to neighborhood bar to meet with friends. The bartenders are always friendly and attentive. The drinks are mixed well and The Halsey is a must have! It's my favorite cocktail to have here. I also love the ginger beer they serve when I'm not in the mood to drink but just want to take in the atmosphere. In the summer time they open the back yard and it's the perfect place to chill and sip a summer cocktail with friends. If you can grab a seat at the bar you won't be disappointed the bartenders keep them coming without you having to remind them. The happy hour is great too! Saturday night was cracking. Treated my sister to a birthday cocktail here: she had the Cuban Stuy and I had the Macon Mule. Both were delicious, well blended and perfect for a nice lil turn up. First time here on 4/27/18 came here from another spot,small place but nice and cozy,not to many people was there,they had a Dj couple of people at the bar we sat in the back near the stools we was standing at first because they had no seats near the stools to sit on where we was standing another couple was there we just waited til they left to sit at the stools they had...we was hoping a staff member would bring us some stools but that didn't happen,they have a backyard but it wasn't open,the weather wasn't that great to be in the backyard anyway,the Dj played good music no one was dancing but you could dance there I believe...the drinks was ok..for my first drink I had a jack and coke,I usually drink it straight but I decided to chase it for whatever reason,the second drink was an old fashion,I had that because that's what he was drinking,I didn't enjoy that at all,we stayed there for awhile the small crowd was fading so we left as well,I would definitely go here again,nice cozy place,love the ambiance read more

Okay, I know I usually review food but sometimes you just got to appreciate and recognize local businesses. First, welcome to Brooklyn, specifically Bed Stuy. While I'm born Crown Heights chick, I do love the vibe and flavor of Bed Stuy (why is is called that? Google it). Both Bed Vyne Brew and Bed Vyne Cocktail have the Bed Stuy flavor. This spot was very local. Kind of like your neighborhood bar next door. It wasn't quite what I expected but my girlfriends and I had a good time. We selected this spot because it had an outdoor seating area. You can't hear the music outside which was a plus and a minus. We were able to talk and actually hear each other but after a while we were bothered by the cigarette smoke of other patrons and we wanted to hear a little music so we went inside. Beware, there is no food served at this establishment (we were shocked lol). I don't think I've ever been to a bar that serves no food whatsoever. They did however allow us to bring in food which will lead me to my next review of the spot next door. Anywho do yourself a favor and have the watermelon rum punch it was amazing. This is a great neighborhood bar with a lot of ambiance. I came here with a friend early on a Friday evening for pre-dinner drinks. We were happily surprised by the list of cocktails on the happy hour list and the interesting array of bottles on display - lots of interesting spirits I had never heard of, as opposed to the old standbys you see everywhere else. We were the only two people there so service was quick. We were able to have our own conversation, but the bartender was also open to talking about the bar and her previous experiences. All in all it was a good time, and the menu was so intriguing and the drinks so good, we stayed for a second. If you go in the cold, I highly recommend the hot toddy. read more

came in thursday around 9pm, the first thing i noticed was the good music. bar was crowded and other seating is tucked in back, kinda disconnected from the bar area-- happy hour got 2 guinness and 1 specialty cocktail for my sister before she headed home and the tab was $20! i tipped $10, that's my kinda hh-- crowd was a mix of my age group and some older, everyone was super chill and even made conversation at the bar with others.. bartender with short blond hair, beautiful chocolate skin had the nicest personality. i live in queens, but can't wait to move to brooklyn, i'll be back here asap. tip: the male staff( tall thin me with the pearl choker) could use some personality and manners towards patrons, even if you're not serving, at least engage and assist in helping people grab the bartender for even distribution of attention across the bar area. read more

Yoooo I came out here to support a friend that hosted an event out here and honestly it was dope as fuck ! The lighting was nice and dim. The space was well put together and I know I shouldn't judge based on the bathroom but it was nice and clean! When I walked in the bartender greeted me as soon I crossed the bar. I love that kind of stuff, say hello. That makes me want to sit down and buy a drink LOL. But I just got there I didn't want to seem OD. So I took off my jacket and say down. I wanted to check in to the place but the service in the place wasn't really up to par, so I scanned the spot for some wifi. I found one for guests under the establishments name. So then I asked the owner if he had wifi and he flat out said no a bit rudely. Call me petty but that's the real reason that their losing a star. The owner was a bit of a dick. I asked a few of the people there and they said they had the same kind of experience when they ask. If you own an establishment and are not personable, don't come out into the front lines. Because there's people like me who just want to have a drink and have a good time, but if you push me I'll thumb thug on Yelp. #youknowhowthatshitgo But let me get out my bag real quick. The bartender was phenomenal, he kept a full bar of about 40 pleased. It was dope as hell watching him go back and forth at seemingly light speed to quench the Brooklyn masses that came out. Unfortunately, one of the bartenders was extremely rude when I stopped in last week; arguing with a friend of mine after having misplaced his credit card. The manager was graceful in trying to mitigate the situation, until said bartender asked security to remove my friend from the bar. Such an great time up until then. So this review is primarily based on customer service. I came here on a Friday night for a quick drink with a friend. I came here previously for a Yelp event and decided to give it a try. So the space is a bit awkward because the bar takes up most of the space and then it opens up a bit where the bar ends. So when it's crowded, literally there's no space to even walk to the back which was the case when I came in. No biggie.. I'm a trooper. Me and my friend was able to score a seat at the bar towards the middle. After a few minutes, I decided I wanted the frozen cocktail. It literally took as wayyy to long to get the bartenders attention. Mind you, they weren't serving any patrons at the time. So I finally got his attention, he was very crude like as if I was bothering him. I let it go. He said there is no frozen cocktails at this time. Cool, I decided to order what my friend was getting which was on the menu. I guess they didn't have that cocktail either so he was like I can make you something similar. At this point I was a bit uncomfortable because he was visibly annoyed. I literally chuckled to my friend because I'm like how am I nervous to ask for something I'm paying for. Like literally annoyed with me because I asked for something that was on the menu. Should I have known that you didn't have it? Anywho-- what did it for me was when he came back for a drinks. Dude literally dropped our drinks off and just have us the death stare. I looked back at my friend to make sure I wasn't going crazy. One of the best lounge/hang out spots in Bedstuy. I love that its so close to me. They have the best DJ so prepare to dance and have a good time. The drink specials are great as well. I particularly loved the samurai statue and their back patio (with pop-up food vendor). DJ was playing good music. The service was cool, although they could probably use one more bartender on a Friday night. During happy hours, specialty drinks are $8 instead of $12. However, our cocktails were nothing to write home about. If cocktail is in your name, then your cocktails should be exceptional...so, room for improvement. read more
