Visited for the first time on Tuesday for ladies night. There were definitely a lot of ladies... chill vibes, friends and couples out for cocktails. Music was good... eclectic and perfect for a Tuesday night out with the bestie. We sat at the bar... had a couple drinks and were given a number of shooters on the house (since it was ladies night). Each one was better than the next and we were sampling Julia's tequila which was surprisingly smooth and flavorful... bartender was sweet and friendly and tasted her drinks as she went... a sign of a great bartender. I've been to The Se7en on a few occasions and each time it's been a fun time. This latest visit was on a Sunday. It was around 10pm and the crowd had already died down, but the dj was still doing his thing. We danced to classic dancehall, afrobeats, old and new school hip hop and sang our hearts out to some classic r&b. Desire aka Des was behind the bar, killing it! She made me some really yummy mocktails. Since it'll be getting warmer out, I know they're going to be even more popping so I can't wait to return this summer! read more

This is a hidden gem revealed! Wednesday's are the night. They have open mic and the talent is there! I went to celebrate them carrying the McBride Sisters wine which I love! They did a promotion for the night. I ended up buying a bottle and staying all night! The vibes were incredible I almost grabbed the mic. This was the perfect location to unwind and relax with amazing people. The service is unmatched! The way everyone works in unison is commendable! See you next Wednesday! The food!!! The Seven gave me throwback lounge vibes from a late 90s/early 2000s show. There was good music, steady Afrobeats, early 2000s hip-hop & R&B, and people up dancing. It felt like a neighborhood spot instead of a mega club. These days, that's the kind of atmosphere I appreciate more. The space was cozy. Seating was very limited, and there was only one bathroom (though spacious and well-maintained). Still, it worked for the energy of the night. The bar was packed, which was expected on a Saturday night, so I didn't get the chance to try the drinks. The DJ's mix was on point. Lighting and volume throughout the space made it easy to either hold a conversation or dance. It struck a nice balance. Some of the seating is available by reservation, although that wasn't immediately clear. Thankfully, the waitresses were kind and respectful when they asked my group to move for an arriving party. I'd like to return on a quieter night to get a better feel for the space. There's definitely potential for a great time without the overwhelming crowd. read more

Had a great time at Se7en! I've gone a couple of times for different occasions like as an after flex for my birthday dinner and for after work Happy Hour followed by a performance. Both times were cool. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The space is decent sized. Not too big but not too small and there was a good enough seating but also a lot of standing room. I'd recommend driving because there was a bit of a walk to get there from the train. We had the Suya wings to eat for appetizers and I really enjoyed it. Like it was a perfect level of heat and was served basically fresh off the stove. The drinks were also pretty good too. All in all, I'd recommend especially if you're in the neighborhood! read more

tl;Dr: Very chill venue with excellent drinks. The space is a large open room with a bar along one of the walls. It has living room vibes, with two or more couches positioned facing each other in the middle of the room. As a bar, the layout is a bit weird to me but it works for other purposes. The music the evening I went was mellow afro beats so it was a laid back, grown affair. Bar tenders serve up some excellent drinks so if that's the vibe you're looking for, check it out. read more

Se7en was an amazing lounge in Brooklyn. They checked for ID at the door, it was a Friday and free to get in at around 1130pm. Babbby it was live when we walked in, beautiful adults everywhere , with great energy, bar was packed but flowing quickly. The music was just the right variety of hip hop, r&b and oldies. Gratefully there were some gentleman in the building that bought us drinks (they run about $15 a piece, typical) , unfortunately we didn't get to try their food. My friend and I danced and sang with other gorgeous woman & some handsome men. We stayed until closing, I will definitely be back. read more

The reason for the 3 stars is the Drinks The cocktails are too pricey to not have a buzz after 2. My friend and I had 4 cocktails each which was about $80 per person after gratuity and we left underwhelmed and underwhelmed buzzed. First time here and I was very well pleased. From being greeted on the walk in by the amazing staff to the lounge like ambiance I felt like home. The space is a nice sized, with couches and lounge chairs. They had Martin playing on the projector on the wall which I enjoyed. The servers were very attentive and informative which was very nice. After 9 pm the dj arrived and turned things up and it was amazing the music selection had the crowd rocking and engaging which was very cool. I wasn't crazy about the seven 75 which was my first drink but the zen sodas were very well made and refreshing. I also tried the jerk wings and personal pan cheese pizza the wings were tasty but small in size. The pizza was pretty basic but after so much drinking it did the job of soaking up the liquor. Having to get my drinks neat because their mix drinks are subpar. 4. Leaving the place claiming that I won't go back. Went to The Se7en for the first time over the weekend with a girlfriend and we had a good enough time. I was really taken aback by the interior because I wasn't expecting such a a large, yet inviting, space! I was a huge fan of the light fixtures, the artwork displayed throughout the room, and the large, comfy couches. It gave off a good vibe. The issue I had was with the drinks (and maybe even the bartender). Our male bartender with braids or locs (and really stylist glasses) who served us seemed as if he didn't want to be at work that day. He was probably feeling having an off day or overwhelmed at the crowd seeing as how he was the only bartender when we got there. However, it's a customer-facing job, "fake it til you make it, bruv." Now for the drinks, I'm no bartender by trade, however, I've traveled and patronized enough bars to know what drinks should (and should not) be like. I ordered a mezcal cocktail on the menus called Black Oaxaca. There were 3 MASSIVE pieces of ice in a whiskey glass. There was barely any of the liqueur and mezcal in the glass. I wanted to say something, but the bartender didn't stick around after passing me the drink. After he assisted me in operating the Square machine to pay, he was gone like a thief in the night. Plus his energy was off so I wasn't trying to say anything to add another in his side. I felt maybe that wasn't the drink for me, so I ordered a rum punch afterwards. It was very chalky and I instantly wanted to barf when I got it. I am a Jamaican rum drinker so to see the rum punch looking like strawberry Nesquik was a huge turn off. That is not how we do rum punch in Jamaica (or any Caribbean island for that matter). I guess they were putting their own twist on this famous beverage but I was not feeling it and it made me feel sick. Even with the 4-5 glacial ice cubes, the drink was still bad. STILL! I decided to hang in there with them and get another drink. Kept it simple this time. I asked for pineapple juice with rum. This was not too bad. I don't think they could've messed this one up as I didn't ask for anything fancy. I just wish they'd cut back on all that ice. The drinks are already expensive and it just feels like the customer is getting cheated out of a proper drink when it has so much ice in it. By the time you take 2-3 sips, the drink is over and you're left with a glass full of ice. Not cool! All in all, I'd come back for the ambiance and DJ. There was a female DJ who had me out of my seat for most of the night. Her mixing was smooth and exceptional. I wish I'd gotten her name. Anyhow, I am wishing The Se7en much success! read more
