A friend of mine once told me that it is hard to find bad coffee in San Francisco, because there are so many coffee shops, the bad ones will go out of business quickly. The opposite is also true, as I learned today. There is one place in Lincoln where nail techs actually care, regardless of what they have assessed your income to be. It is not here. Now if you have money, and walk in looking like you spend a lot of it on yourself, this place will treat you right. In fact they will split up a mother and daughter who came in early for an appointment they made at the beginning of the week in order to make sure you get your favorite nail tech. A year ago, this place was nice. Today I paid way too much money to sit in an overpacked (two back to back rows of nail desks) nail mill, not even able to talk to my daughter and share her first nail job with her. I almost got up and walked us both out. I think the nail tach was upset that she had to work with the lady who didn't come in with an LV bag. I almost tipped her like the lady she thought I was. When they saw my tip (I have a hard time leaving bad tips even when I should) and realized she hadn't finished the job they got her back and she cleaned up the underside of my nails. She also managed to ground one of my nails to the skin and file me until I bled in several areas. She heaved and sighed a lot. I was exhausted from a hard day's work and couldn't have been more disappointed in my experience, but it is not one of the places where I ultimately feel really bad for the employees, and not the worst I've seen so I will give this place two stars (which anything lower than four is pretty rare for me, but people should know). I don't believe this was a Covid impacted experience. I think that nail salons in Lincoln prioritize a certain crowd and look down on the rest of us, as if that's how money is made. These nail techs missed out. I'll take my money elsewhere and the friend I like to bring who likes to tip more than I do will never even hear about this place. By the way the technique used for this job is about two years behind the other places I have been. I will plan on making the drive to my favorite places from now on. On a lighter note. They have princess chairs. Something I have not seen in any of the other salons I have been to, many of which were way nicer. My daughter watched the experience and how the girls were treated, and the how their mother treated them, and never even asked me about it. I'm so pleased. It was worth the wait to have a mature experience and I'll treat her to a nicer salon next time (which, for the price I paid, is what this place should have been, trust me). read more

I came in loving the place, I left with the intentions of not ever going back. I got a mani (fill) acrylic with gel as I always get and a pedicure with gel. Generally this takes me 1.5 hours and costs around $70 designs and all at the other nail shops I go to. Here it took 3 hours! I had to reschedule plans with friends because of this. I'm not sure what took so long as I was being worked on the entire time. I got a simple design but have had more intricate elsewhere that didn't take near as long. I don't like my toes at all sadly, I wanted them to match with my nails but they do not look as well done. I'm not sure the price of anything except the pedicure which cost $31 according to the book, they did not tell you any prices as they did anything else. Overall I ended up spending $106 ($10 tip included) I heard them speaking of a reward system to every person who came and left as I still got mine done, but since I was now the last one there and they all wanted to go home I was not asked if I wanted to join. Overall I am dissatisfied by the amount of time and money I ended up spending while going here. I was so excited to try this new place and am sad the work isn't worth the price. I would highly suggest VIP or Philly Nails if you're wanting designs and a cheaper price. read more

I have been here before and never seemed to have an issue only minor inconveniences such as it always being packed and services being rushed to get to the next customer. I am one to not complain or let little things bug me, I love supporting local businesses and very thankful when I get services and understand they need the support. But what a HORRIBLE experience and will be my last time stepping foot in that establishment. I walked in and stood at the front desk to stare at the man sitting on his phone which took several minuets till he noticed and looked up to ask what service I'd like. I then went to use the restroom and returned shortly to sit down and wait since it was clearly going to be a wait. When I sat down I went to adjust by crossing my leg and felt something uncomfortably sharp, I then sat up quickly and noticed a shard of glass on the seat that punctured me and created a hole in my leggings. I politely let him know that there was glass on the seat and gave him the shard, he just dusted it off and said sorry. I was bothered that it didn't seem like a big deal to him. I was sat at a pedicure seat about 10 minuets later and he then apologized again as he sat me and asked if I wanted a drink. Beyond that no other words from him as he sat on his phone at the front again. The lady then proceeded the service and mentioned it was $15 more for the gel that I asked for and at the end of the service wrote my price. Not to mention people constantly asking if I wanted to add on another service for a manicure. Not like I expected anything crazy but atleast some sort of true apology and for them to inspect the area and make sure I was okay so no one else got injured. If you were to go to a restaurant and they mess up your food or have a hair in it they always replace it, discount it with no questions asked to ensure you are aware they are sorry, and show they care for you while being able to correct any mistake. It's called CUSTOMER SERVICE which this place clearly doesn't follow. I went to pay and he charged me full price and asked if I got hurt, I then told him I did and had a hole in my leggings since it punctured through. He then just proceeded to charge me and said sorry as he handed me the receipt. I say the overcrowding and rush they have at that place is not worth your time or money. Now I'm upset having no care from them over the incident and now out more money having to go buy new leggings. I can see the lack of cleanliness and quality every time I return and now with this incident I will not return nor ever refer a friend. *Update* Well I gave a subpar review prior, but I want to take it all back! I think overall we just had a big misunderstanding and for that I decided to delete the original post. After my review the manager (?) reached out to me and apologized. I could tell he truly cared about my overall satisfaction. He offered to have me come back the next day to accomplish what I came there for initially, which was a pink and white ombré using powder. My experience was absolutely pleasant and the lady did a wonderful job on my nails. I will return and recommend this business to more people! read more

ABSOLUTELY PAINFUL AND DISGUSTING I came here to remove my grown out acrylic nails. I showed up a half hour earlier than the appointment I had made to walk into a not very busy salon (implying there would be an extra 25 minutes to my already booked appointment and no rush since there were not the many people). The technician (don't know her name) proceeded to barely grind down my acrylics and used another nail to pop off my nails (normal procedure, needed to be done more). However, she managed to RIP 3 nails completely off causing it to be BLEED. 2 nails were broken and cracked from her not properly spending the time to loosen the nail by grinding it down (abnormal and CARELESS). She did catch my skin with the grinding tool and that hurt even more. She removed the nails, leaving all of my nails at different lengths, severely busted. She looked at me like it was done, I told her there was no way I could leave to go to work like this, so I had to ask her to cut it down, buff, and shape. All of them are uneven, the glue was still there, still bleeding. She looked at me like she was done, I had to ask her to put on a clear coat. Its been burning and bleeding on and off since then. I could not work properly. Might get an infection, who knows? If they are trying so desperately hard to impress you with their special packages, membership, "luxurious decor", and ambiance, why would they feel proud of this work to represent their salon? As "professionals" this should not have happened in the first place at all. In retrospect, I could have done this at home and still had my fingers. read more

Hi So I made a appmt for a gel pedi here after a few years of returning- the nail tech came up to me with a smile, I sat down and then asked about the pedicure options and obviously I get gel so I asked is gel $10 extra and the other lady said no $15 extra. That's inflation. I said okay it better be a good one. Then the lady sitting right next to me snarled - I looked over and said excuse me- she said I was being rude to the nail tech- I told her to keep her judgement to herself. I've been going here for a year and the guy I went to doesn't work anymore so I thought I would try someone else. They Burned my nails when taking off my old polish. I had to ask the lady many times to fix my nails, they ended up being so short. They tried to charge me for having longer nails which they have never charged me before, but they need up being so short. They made excuses for my nail when I asked them to clean them out more. My daughter and I jus got our nails done, and we really enjoyed it every body was very friendly and everything was super clean, that is a big deal for me. They are also kid friendly. Also, quite a bit of polish on my cuticles & skin that will come off in the shower- I just wanted my nails to look nice from salon. My pedicure/mani was rushed & steps were missed. I found it odd that the type of pedicure I requested (milk & honey) & was denied, told I should do the lavendar instead, that I do not want the milk & honey. I did appreciate the sterilized implements individually packaged on my 1st visit however, 2 other visits the technicians used unsterilized implements & files on me. As a cosmotologist I know better & expect safety to come first, followed by quality. Lastly...I love my natural nails- if I want GEL I will definitely let y'all know. No means no. Not saying I'll never come back, but I would like to try other places. I will walk out tho if y'all try to use unsterilized implements or crusty polish on me again. I went in less than a week ago (on a Thursday) and got my nails done before my wedding by Sunday I had lost two thumb nails and they've been steadily falling off since. I got acrylics put on and they were uneven and bumpy but the worst part is that they didn't last more than a few days of looking decent. I am happy with the gel pedicure I got from Han. I loved my nails especially when it was my first time getting my first acrylic nails or going to a nail salon. But some of my nails were uneven. One of my nails were longer than others. After they were done my nails were in pain, to the point where i had to take an ibuprofen in order to relieve the pain. They also didn't cut my actual nails right, some were still long. read more

It was my first time here and Lisa did an amazing job on my nails! My nails were in bad shape after my usual nail shop was lazy and put two coats of powder on my nails plus another gel color. They were thick and not looking too good. She took her time making my nails look perfect and was able to do the metallic color that I was looking for. My girl had an okay first visit here so she wanted to have them bling her out for New Year's Eve. She had the mani + pedi and bedazzled assortment on her fingernails. The toe clear polish came off overnight as well she lost some bedazzled jewels from her fingernails. Went back the next day and got the usual "your fault " but my girl overcame that and they replaced her toenail polish and replaced the bedazzled items that fell off overnight. It's New Years Eve and bedazzled jewels came off. I'm giving them 2 Stars for the first effort but not really deserved since 2 trips and the hassle. We asked if they could put on a clear coat to insure the jewels would stay on. They should know if your nails are durable enough for 48 hours. I'm sure they can satisfy some patrons but they may want to smile a little more when some one drops a Benjamin. read more

They get a 2 for being a pretty looking salon on the inside, but the two times that I've been here I left disappointed. There's gel all over my edges, and when I pointed them out, he started filing and clipping my skin away to try to remove it. The end result is ugly cut cuticles and polish still on my skin. It has been awhile since getting my nails done, not only due to COVID, but I haven't found someone that is good or always trying to up sale me on getting designs. I tried out coco nails and I was more than pleased with my nails, the customer service, the atmosphere, and how clean it was in there. I didn't get the lady's name that did my nails but she was amazing and didn't try to up sale me on what I wanted. She was super caring too (I jerked while she was filing my nails and she cut my cuticle causing me to bleed), but she made sure I was okay and wanted to keep going. I've had a few experiences at Coco now and am overall really wow'd by the place. One issue I've found is that each technician does nails their way. My advice is if you don't like the way one does the job, try another technician. When you find one you like, make appointments. I'm always able to be seen as a walk in, but I've found different techs have a big impact on quality and longevity of the product. The salon itself is beautiful and very comfortable. Clean and well appointed. They also have 2 spots for kids' pedicures. The staff is always very friendly and I've found good communication from my technicians when they've done my work. They always double check the color selection and quality. I also never feel rushed out of my chair or station. Bottom line, try a few techs to find someone you 'gel' with (see what I did there) and enjoy your experience! read more

Left wanting to cry because our nails look horrible. We got our nails done as a cute little nana and grandchildrens day or whatever. Me and my sister got fills and my nana got dip. First of all the place was dirty. Ripped up chairs, and massage chairs. And the manicure desk or what ever it is was disgusting there was nail polish all over it. The place was not like the pictures. The lady who also did my toes cut them weirdly and digged the heck out of my toe it hurt so bad, then it got to my fill.. she filed/drilled my nail acrylic so much it burned. She was like "tell me if it hurts" i went okay. Then i jumped because she drilled my cuticle off basically and she said are you okay and i kept apologizing and was like yeah and she said tell me if it hurts dont jump tho. Like how do i not jump?? If it hurts and i jump thats my natural instinct!! She did my french tip halfway down my nail and was not cute or natural and i asked for coffin and usually its not so sharp and a lil rounded but looks sharp. She made it so sharp i keep on scrapping myself!! Then my sister got a guy and she got her nails reshaped to be a birds beak! He said "doesnt it look better i fixed it for you" he made the almond shape she had to a sharp pointy nail not what she asked! The female that was sitting down with me started with the process of soaking off the acrylics and the male came over and started to remove the acrylics by yanking them off while the female worker looked at me apologetically. We went in early last Saturday, the place was already busy and was getting super busy as we were there. The owner was working on my gel manicure, and simultaneously answering the phone. He did an ok job on my nails but only did one top coat. Within 7 days 3 of my nails chipped off. I just went in today and they fixed them up for free, but since I wasn't paying today it was a super rushed job. It'll probably last me through the week, but I don't think I'll be going back. I keep trying to like this place because it's close to my home and they have an adorable chair for my daughter to come with me and get my nails done... Unfortunately every time I come in they do something that turns me off and makes me not want to come back. Today took the cake. I was impressed when this place first opened because they wrapped their chairs with plastic and brought out clean implements in packages to your pedicure. Today I went and got my gels removed and wanted a manicure and a nail buff. When the lady pulled out my implements she pulled them out of a box underneath the nail table. This included a pusher that looked clean, cuticle clippers, clippers and an emery board. Much to my surprise, the nail clippers had a left over nail on it from the previous person, the emery board which was supposed to be white was tinted pink probably from the previous person as well. I should have walked away at this point but didn't want to cause a scene. I let her continue and she. Scrapped down my gels all the way to my nail bed with a coarse emery board scratching the nail bed left a mark when all was said and done. I feel like it was careless and this did not happen the last time I came in. The worst part is when she was done, she just wiped the implements off with a towel and placed them back under the table in the implement box. This means there was zero cleaning in place. All implements should be washed and disinfected in between clients. Clearly they do not do that here. They do it with the pedicure tools as far as I could see but not the manicure tools. I'm disgusted and advise against this place unless you want a crazy infection. read more

My sister and I have gone here multiple times. First to have our nails done. They never understood our nail shape and tore my sisters nails apart. After taking a break we decided to go in for our toes hearing they got better. They cut into my skin making me bleed and cut my toe nails at an angle. My sisters toes were not done correctly. Horrible experience, came here to relax with my friend from out of town we both have young kiddos and rarely get to treat ourselves we came here unfortunately and I was sweating the entire time apparently their ac was broken, rude demeanor for sure from the Asian chick who collects payment from you she charged us $15 more for gel which is $5 everywhere else even in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and Orange County where we moved here from. I've been to this nail salon multiple times and am usually very pleased with my nails, I went this last weekend with my mom to get my nails done before I went back to collage and am not happy with them at all. I went for acrylics and wanted medium-long coffin shaped nails. They look bulky and are not the shape I wanted al all I asked multiple times to get them thinner and more coffin like because they looked completely square but almost nothing happened every time.one of my pinky's also is crooked and the nail polish dosnt go up to my cuticle, overall disappointed. read more

The one time I went to Coco Nails, I saw Hana. She recommended I get all new acrylic tips. I've had acrylics for about a year and have never had new tips. She ripped my old tips off using the sharp edge of new tips. I now know this is the worst, most damaging way to remove tips. It caused me two days of intense nailbed pain and I'm sure my nails are damaged. The salon was also dirty. Never again. read more
