This is the best bakery I have been to. I am from out of town and I have been to several bakeries that do not compare to this one. The Quiche Loraine is the best I have ever had. The crust was so good. It had a perfect thickness to it. Also, what I really liked was the filling. The egg was a custard, not a a dried out scrambled egg. The egg custard enhanced the flavor of the onions and bits of smoked ham. Again, not dried out. Going back to the crust. Honestly, it could have been it's own breakfast or treat. It tasted like a fresh baked shortbread cookie without the sugar. I can not say enough good things about my experience here. The Executive Chef came out to talk to us too. She was incredibly humble, personable, and professional. She loves what she does. You can tell it's not a "job" for her, but a calling. You only hear about places like this being in fine dining magazines or on TV in France or Italy lol! However, it is so wonderful to know that St.Clair can lay claim to having one of the best bakeries in the world. Also, the decor of this place matches the food. It is beyond beautifully decorated. Always seen pictures people post on Facebook and I decided I had to try myself. I love European pastries and just a European feel to the business. Decided to have lunch, which was a ham and cheese croissant, it was so good. It was light and fluffy each layer was amazing. Then for dessert, I tried their Japanese cheesecake as well as their peach dessert, which had a like custard, cream filling and in the middle it had peach fruit filling. The place is easy to get to. It's off the main road. You can't miss it. Service was wonderful, friendly, after I explained how long I drove to get here. And I have to say, sitting inside is so relaxing. The music is not so loud, very clean inside, and just looking around you feel like you're in a Paris café. I really wish they had one closer to where I live. I know it would be a hit in grand Blanc, Michigan! I would definitely recommend, nice drive for the afternoon. read more

I decided that it would be a perfect Mother's Day breakfast treat, so I set out early and was able to select everything that I wanted. This place is a gem. A French-inspired bakery with an elegant interior, filled with the rich aroma of chocolate as you step inside. Be prepared for long lines on Saturdays, but if you're planning to visit, the week is usually a better time to avoid the crowds. The tiramisu dessert and chocolate flan are absolutely divine. From what I gathered, this place is brand new. So let's all give them a bit of grace as they figure out their daily routine and managing so many customers in their line at any given point. I got a white chocolate pistachio bread, it was excellent. Pistachio flavor comes through at the end of each bite and I really enjoyed it. The orange tres leches was amazing. That was really special. I got a coffee, the cranberry white chocolate one, it was extremely sweet. I'll try something else next time. This place is beautiful! Kept seeing in online and had to make the 45 minute drive to check it out. Friendly staff that gave great recommendations. We enjoyed both the lemon blueberry waffle and crepe in the restaurant and that got several pastries to take home. The pain au chocolat and apple danish were delicious. read more

Amazing desserts! We got a box for a birthday, and couldn't decide what to get so we got a bunch of delicious pastries! While I haven't had the pleasure of visiting the property itself (the pastries were brought to our location) they were so beautiful and creative (and we didn't want to eat them because of how beautiful they were!). We went back again! Tried a couple new selections from the Bakery. The Four Berry Croissant and the Fruit Flan Tart. My husband only got takeout this time. He did buy the Caprese Croissant as well but unfortunately, we didn't get a picture of this. Ate it too quick! Yum. Everything tasted spectacular. This place is charming! Be prepared to wait in a long line to order. But, there is plenty to look at while you are waiting. The decor is almost over the top, but you find many details to admire. Once you get to the counter it will take you a while to browse their selection. Everything is beautiful and fresh. I decided on a sandwich made with a whole wheat sourdough baguette, slices of cheese, lots of roast beef, pickles and a grainy mustard. My beverage of choice was a mocha espresso with almond milk. First of all this business feels misplaced, like it should be in a high tourist location as opposed to sleepy St. Clair. I expected it to be much more expensive than it was however it was very reasonable for the quality. We bought an egg nog tiramisu, goat cheese & persimmon croissant, some kind of small cake, a potato sandwich, and some sort of chopped chorizo and onion sandwich, matcha tea and a cold brew for around $50. The sandwiches were absolutely amazing and I would totally come back from out of my way to order them again or try more. Neither sandwich was something you could really order anywhere else in the area nor would it be easy to make at home. Truly reminded me of bakeries ive visited in france... only thing that would have been better would have been for them to have served Jambon-Beurre sandwiches (I would have bought the place out) Definitely worth a try! read more

Sorry to say - went in to purchase cakes etc. person behind the counter was cleaning up a dropped cke behind counter floor asked what I wanted, then took one glove on right hand grabbed paper for the bottom of the box - used both hands (one gloved one bare) to situate the paper (at this point whatever was on her bare hand is "in the box" then put two items I wanted in the box on the third one was placing in the box and pushed one of the baked goods with the bare hand. I asked why did you only put one glove on? She said "I only use the gloved hand to put the baked goods in". I said how about when you set the paper? Answer: "Oh well". read more

Visiting my son in Michigan, I got an ad for this bakery, and I figured it would be a nice treat after his game. So we went, and made it about 20 mins before they closed. It was so much more than I ever dreamed. Absolutely gorgeous. This place is perfection down to the smallest details. We tried an array of treats, several different croissants, a desert pudding apple (forgot what it was actually called) lattes and crepes. Everything was amazing. The staff as welcoming and helpful, and treats were perfection and the gifts options were fun and unique. I don't think anything I say about this place will really capture how amazing it is. I don't even want to throw out the box our pastries came it, it was so lovely and special, but sadly wouldn't fit in my luggage. Can't wait to take the rest of the family back. read more

How anyone can give this place less then 5 stars is crazy. From the coffee to everything they they offer is just outstanding. Fresh, tasty, and awesome atomisphere, it transforms you to France! Lines can get long, but it moves fast and worth the wait. The staff is friendly and you can watch pastries being made in a huge window inside the building. This place is awesome! Coffee is solid and the pastries have all been great. The bread is the best part. Loaves of bread for less than $3 a piece, perfect for soup season. The staff are really nice and it's cool to be able to watch the chefs in the back through the huge windows. I'm so happy this place opened! read more

This place is beautiful however you just don't come here for the ambience. I was there today at approximately 11:30 am and most of the pastry cases were empty! They certainly have adequate staff so I think their time management needs improvement. I consider 11:30am early and those pastry cases should have been replenished by then The few items I did purchase were good but I wasn't wowed like I was with the decor. But then again I was there for the pastries. They need time for getting over their growing pains in my opinion. I will try them again. Also the prices were in line with any upscale bakery so don't expect donut shop prices. Go and see for yourself. read more

I don't care how far you live from St Clair in St Clair County, because let me just tell you, this place is worthy of the drive! I've been waiting FOUR YEARS for this place to open (the building was built that long ago, I live in the area so I drove past it quite often) & it definitely surmised my wait! They're open every day except Tuesdays from 7am until 4pm (Sunday's till 2pm). BUT, I will tell you this..........if you want a good chance of seeing AND trying their items, you'd best be there right after the doors open because they do sell out quite fast. This also could be because they've only been open since the week of Thanksgiving. Anyhoo, the inside is absolutely STUNNING! Last time I've been to a bakery that looked like this was when we were in Vegas inside one of the resort's bakeries on The Strip. The decor is beautiful & they even have a full window view of where all the baking takes place. There's even a cute little room where your little ones can play "bakery". As far as their items, everything from buttery croissants to delectable sandwiches on home baked bread to macaroons to cakes, I could go on but you'll have to go there to see for yourself. They also offer a variety of barista style coffees & other beverages, which were delish. I got a Caramel Apple Butter (I forgot the rest of what it's called!) hot drink, which was yummy. I also got one of their croissants filled with chorizo, caramelized onions & cheddar cheese, which was also yummy. The croissant was SO flaky & buttery! They were pretty much out of most of their other baked items, like different cookies & pastries, as we got there around 10:30 on a Wednesday. I felt their prices were fair, considering the quality of their items & it's reflected as far as the taste, as I could certainly tell (I'm a foodie, have tried all different bakeries & like to think I can tell the difference between mass produced & specialty goods). They also have a large social media presence, so I recommend following them on Facebook & Instagram. As far as their employees, super friendly, patient & helpful. We had a beautiful experience today at Cocobella's. The service was great even though it was packed when we arrived at noon. They still had plenty of pastries to choose from. Our favorite was the pear. It's just sweet enough but not too much. Same with the pear croissant not too sweet just perfect. We ordered the Quiche Lorraine and it was delicious too. The decoration is exquisite and unique. It was definitely worthy the 40 minute drive to this place. We will do it again for sure. read more

I would like to review only to share my opinion during this fragile stage of growing. This place is stunning for sure!! The coffee is amazing. The crepes were way over done and the staff I am sure are still learning, however there were 7 people behind the counter and it took a very long time. We will be back for sure. I think this place has a lot of potential. I don't want to be negative but more constructive. I've only visited once but I would go again to try the sweets. I got a loaf of bread and a hot chocolate. The bread was delicious. The hot chocolate was unfortunately not hot or even very warm. I also like mine a little more chocolatey but that's my personal preference.
