The prices are too high. Last night, I stopped by and was offered only one side for my small curry chx platter. I am accustomed to "two" sides. I had two additional side orders and a small corn bread and my grand total was "$33.09". I concluded that they are open until 9pm for a reason with all of the other businesses being closed on the block. They need the revenue to keep up with expenses. Times are hard and I get it. Food wasn't even that good and it was overpriced, I purchased a medium stew chicken over white rice with a side of sweet potato's and was charged over $30s I had previously tried to get oxtail but the lady said medium oxtail would be close to 40$ at that moment I felt like she was just trying to overcharge me so I ended up purchasing the rice and stew chicken , I honestly believe the lady charged me more money then there listed prices because she saw that I wasn't paying attention. It's okay if you overcharge me aslong as the food taste good but they overcharged me and the food wasn't good at all, the sweet yams was nasty, the stew chicken tasted like broth and if I could give it a 0 star I would. I stopped by on Friday after work around 630pm. I had to wait 10 minutes for a $25.00 Oxtail Platter. I was shocked to find 4 Large Slivers of Meat around bones that were so tough I couldn't even chew them. I called the Manager the following day after some friends kept pushing me to follow up & allow them to try to make it right. I spoke with the manager who only responded with.."I am Sorry". Needless to say they do not have to worry about my continuing to support this particular business & I just thought I would share my experience with anyone that is interested in being treated fairly when spending time & money with a restaurant that does not respect their customers. I had a hankering for Jamaican yesterday after reading a Facebook review on this place (shout out to Delco Restaurant Review on Facebook). I went for a large jerk chicken platter with a heavy dose of mac and cheese with yams. I also got a chicken patty to try out. The jerk chicken is tremendous. The jerk sauce is tangy and spicy. It cleared my sinuses for sure. That's a good thing. The mac and cheese along with the yams were both wonderful. The jerk sauce mixed in with the mac and cheese which made it a flavor bomb. The yams had a great sweetness without being overbearing. The portion was insane. No way I could finish them. The chicken patty fell a little short in my mind. I think next time I will try the beef. I've tried this place twice and wasn't satisfied however, decided not to write a review until now. The first time I tried the stew chicken with rice and peas, plantain and a beef patty. I thought the stew chicken was just ok, rice and peas a little spicy. I would've preferred some oxtail gravy on it. The plantain wasn't as tender or sweet as I would've liked. The beef patty was amazing. A little spicy not overwhelmingly spicy and baked to perfection. Second time I decided to get delivery. I ordered the jerk salmon with rice and peas, mac and cheese and a beef patty of course. Forty five mins later the food arrived. The salmon was a very nice thick piece however the jerk was extremely too spicy for me. The jerk seasoning was also all over my rice without my request. After two bites of the rice I was very upset I couldn't enjoy my meal due to the spiciness. The mac and cheese was tasteless I've had better kraft boxes smh. I couldn't take it anymore I felt robbed. I got in my car and drove to the restaurant. I explained the situation to the owner; He was nice and told me they generally add the sauce to your rice. He offered me an entire new meal. I just asked he replace the rice and peas and add oxtail gravy this time and I'd keep the salmon. Considering, I did order the salmon I didn't want it to be a total waste. Tonight was the final chance. I ordered the stew beef with white rice and broccoli and again a beef patty. I was unsatisfied yet again. The white rice was a better choice for me than rice and peas. This evening, my husband and I placed an order online as directed by the recorded message when we called. I don't use the option to order on-site because they have a small location with no seating available. According to the receipt we received, we placed our order at 6:01 and was instructed that our order would be ready by 6:30. We didn't leave our home until 6:30 because of last experiences of having to wait despite instructions that our meal would be ready for pickup at 6:30. We were still waiting for our order to be completed at 7:15 when we were told that they needed another 10 mins. At this time we asked for a refund, which initially they refused. My husband insisted and we were provided with a refund, less the tip we paid online. This is lack of customer service is unacceptable. Yes, I'm used to their lack of timeliness in completing our orders, but our experience this evening simply reflects their lack of respect for the customers that support their business. read more

Oxtails with rice and peas and steamed cabbage.. I typically go to them because I feel like you get what you pay for, a great portion but that wasn't tonight's dinner. I paid $19 for a medium sized oxtail meal to only receive 4 tiny pieces is mind blowing to me. The oxtails were missing their usual Lima beans which is typically my favorite part of ordering it. Instead it was garnished with uncooked and very distasteful piece of green pepper and a raw carrot, which I HAVE NEVER received from them but hey maybe it's new on the menu, sorry but not a fan. To top it off the oxtails are typically very flavorful but this time lacked every bit of that. My side of cabbage was barely cooked and too crunchy for my liking and had no seasoning. This whole meal wasn't what I was used to and definitely not worth spending $19 on. Not to mention that I gave them a call about the portion size and they were the least apologetic. But today I experienced subpar customer service and most importantly the chicken was cold, dry and burnt. I barely could eat the chicken. We have eaten take out once and eaten in once. Both times we loved the ox tail. We enjoyed the curried goat a lot with sautéed cabbage, plantains-& the stewed chicken with sweet potatoes, rice 'n beans. The collard greens are good there two. With three platter sizes, they adjust to your appetite. The small chicken platter with one side is $6.50. The most expensive item is the snapper at $16.75. Next time i want to try the jerk chicken or the curried chicken and the boiled, salted fish. The fluorescent lit dining room is a little busy, with a soccer game and music playing at the same time. A steady stream of walk in and, call ahead and delivery customers filled the dining room as we took a table under the flat screen. Many of the entrees and sides are ready to eat and on display in a case where the diner can point at items, ask questions, and try a sample, the staff and clientele there was super friendly both times.
