I chose well for my first ever chiropractic experience! Though it took me some time to build up the courage to see a chiropractor, I'm so glad that I chose this one. The thought of someone adjusting my neck, for example, freaked me out because the only time I ever see that happening is in action movies (and you know what happens after that!). Ultimately, I decided to see a chiropractor because my posture needs correcting. With that being said, I was pleasantly surprised upon walking into the office. Though the office isn't technically located in Coconut Grove, rather it's on the outskirts and right across from the Petco/Nordstrom Rack/TJ Maxx, etc., it's still a great spot because there's plenty of street parking. The location doesn't matter anyway because this is the most coconut grove feeling office ever--I'd coin the decor "holistic quirk" in the best way. The staff was excellent. I was promptly greeted when I walked in and every step of the way was explained. My expectations were uber-managed which helped to ease any nervousness I had. In the first exam room, there's even a whiteboard that outlines what to expect and an educational video (though seemed like it was from the 80s, I loved it) that provided a foundational lesson in spine health. Many AHA moments were had. Next, Dr. Eddie came in with excellent bedside manner. Welcoming, sense of humor, explained everything, used words I could understand. I am a fan through and through. I have gone for two visits. In the initial visit, the doctor took some xrays and a scan of my spine and showed me the problem areas and went right to work on them. There wasn't anyone there on my first day so I went right in and out. The second visit on a Saturday had a line of people but he was aware I had a appointment right after so he let me right in. SO nice of him. They have parking right next to them which is free. Its conveniently located right on Coral way. The office was very clean and had an adjustment room which I liked a lot. When I first visited Coconut Grove chiropractic it was basically out of desperation with my ailments as well as exasperation from trying to find a good chiropractor. For nearly thirty years I'd suffered from a significant neck injury which had caused a host of problems from lack of mobility, to numbness in the extremities, sciatica pain, plantar fasciitis, etc. Getting a good night's sleep was increasingly becoming a problem and I was 40+ lbs overweight. The first 6 weeks of treatment were a combination of relief and discomfort. My body went through a sort of cleansing as a result of the adjustments, perhaps as I released all the stress that was weighing me down, and which eventually left me 15 pounds lighter. My restful sleep returned and I gained full mobility in my neck, which I had never thought possible before. It was like lifting a weight from my shoulders that had been discouraging me for years from bettering myself in other ways. I soon started going back to the gym and adopted a ketogenic diet which has helped me to further my weight loss down to a very healthy 195 lbs.
