Widely known as having the 'best crepes in Paris', Epicerie Breizh certainly lived up to the hype for us! We came for a weekday brunch and ordered some cappuccinos and crepes. Our service was great, and the food was outstanding! Their menu is so creative - I wish we were able to try them all. Definitely make the stop - this place is amazing!
- Locale Destination - It's on rue Vieille du Temple and rue du perche, in Marais Nord, Paris. Ambiance: small, busy, modern Menu: crepes, drinks Price: not so cheap for the quality Service: fine - Gluttony Expedition - Rhubarb & strawberry crepe w vanilla ice cream: crepe was thin, rhubarb was a bit too sweet for me. Good vanilla ice cream. Overall, for the price, I'm not impressed. - Conqueror's Deduction - For the price, I prefer to go to "Le Soufflé" for a better dessert (soufflé, not crepe) with the similar price. I wasn't impressed with this, but wanted a crepe once in Paris. I'll find a better place next time.
This was a great place. I recommend you visit. You can sit outside or inside. They have products from Britany. The galette was great. I don't eat pork and they made it without pork. Ask them for their special spice salt. Service was friendly and welcoming.
I just can't get enough of this crepe place! One of the best brunch meals we had in Paris, and to be more specific, probably the best crepe we've ever had in our lives. Location is just perfect, there are so many things to explore in the Le Marais area. Including shopping, supreme, artistic shops, art galleries, and so many more. Some may say it's Paris' arts district. It's def unique! All in all, a must in Paris. Both savory and sweet crepes were so on point, especially the Campagnarde. They were to die for! There was a little bit of a wait, but it's 100% guaranteed worth it. It's also a local favorite & def on my to-do list when I go back to Paris (hopefully soon). Bon appétit!
Last year on a visit to Paris I tried craperie suzette and this time around I wanted to try something different. A few different "must try" lists led me here. Our first visit was underwhelming, our server never put in half of my order so I was only able to try the galette that first day. He seemed mildly uninterested in our table and it felt awkward to ask as my companions were finished eating, so I resigned myself to come back later and try the crepes. Thankfully, the food itself is fantastic. When I came back for a salted caramel crepe with a little scoop of glacé he was kind of enough to give it to me on a little to go plate. I know that isn't how you are supposed to eat and enjoy this amazing French staple, but I had leave town! This is a really lovely way to start your day; I imagine if I lived here it would be a Sunday morning staple. Watch the crowds; it's a small place with tight seating.
when in paris, we had to visit breizh café, known as the "best crepes in paris." we came for brunch on a friday and luckily there was no queue. they have a variety of sweet crepes and savory galettes. the service was efficient and helpful (we originally were going to order the andouille sausage galette but the waiter kindly recommended us to order something else such as the chorizo as he thought we may not be familiar with the sausage) each item on the menu seems to use high quality ingredients and call out where they were produced/grown which is a nice touch. // complète chorizo du pays basque (13.50) // this galette had chorizo, sunny side egg, comté cheese. the spicy chorizo was nice as well as the egg, but i felt like the galettes here are very scarce on the filling themselves. this galette specifically was very thin and did not have much inside. additionally, the buckwheat crepe itself was very plain. // complète oignons (13.50) // sunny side egg, ham, comté cheese, candied onions with cider. i liked this galette more out of the two. the ham and onions went well together, and overall this galette had more filling inside.
We oredered CHOCOLATE CHAUD and DOUBLE ESPRESSO They were out of the charcuterie plate so we ended up getting the ASSORTMENT OF ARTISINAL ANDOUILLE (chitterling sausage from Guémené and Dinan) €10.50 - - it's made of innards and smells like it. I wasn't a fan but my husband said he would have liked it better with better bread (he's not a fan of buckwheat bread ). (€10.50) BRETONNE, pan-fried mushrooms, raw milk comté cheese, sunny side up organic egg, bacon, raw farm cream from Bordier creamery, Espelette pepper (€14.50) - - my order. Overall it was okay. I wanted it to be tastier and have more bacon. The mushroom was overwhelming but the cheese was good. The buckwheat crepe itself was not really tasty to me but th crunch is good. PAYSANNE (Sunny side up egg, andouille sausage from Guémené, candied onions with cider (€16.50) - - my husband was okay with it but he already ate the andouille sausage as a starter (didn't realize we ordered it twice oops) so he was sausaged out. BRIOCHINE - - Banana. Salted caramel sauce. Vanilla ice cream €10.50... This saved the meal. It was delicious. I think what detracted from out experience was the presence of tiny flies that we kept having to swat away from us and our food. It was very distracting. Food is about 2 stars but I gave it an overall 3 for the nice servers.
Although we didn't have a reservation, we were seated almost immediately next door in the small cafe, which was actually such a better dining experience... quieter, peaceful, attentive service, and guaranteed views of Parisian passersby through the large glass windows. We shared 1 sweet and 2 savory. Some of the lightest and tastiest crepes I've had! A terrific David Lebovitz find by M :)
First time eating buckwheat crepe and was excellent. The chef had Japanese influence. The crepe was soft yet crispy. Very tasty. I ordered a cappuccino and a Bretonne crepe. The portion was just right and I felt full. The food came quickly after I ordered. The restaurant is small and when I got here at around 12pm Tue, it was full. I was seated next door at the bakery which has some seating but more of a shop atmosphere. Will come back again.
The most authentic and amazing crepe in Paris! Every dish is home made with farm fresh ingredients. From sweet to savory and even the wines, all are locally sourced and made. We ordered 2 savory (Bretonne & Montegnarde) and one sweet crepe (think Tarte Tatin on a crepe ...with every ingredient coming from their very own farm...and yes that means cheese!). They are known for the buckwheat style crepes which are both crunchy and delicious with just the right amount of buckwheat flavor. The locals rave about this restaurant, which has 2 locations in Paris and one in Tokyo. You can walk in, order to go (but why do that?), or make a reservation. The service is amazing and friendly yet attentive and detailed. Yes the staff speak English well but do try your best to greet and/or speak French. Merci beaucoup goes a long way! Add this restaurant to your must eat list and enjoy your Parisian eats in the City of Lights.
3.5 star. basic crepe, very thin but almost too thin that you cant taste the carb. felt a bit like tourist spot. quite pricy for crepe.
The hostess in my hotel recommended me to come to this cafe for crepe. This is a small safe in the neighborhood. Servers were friendly and helpful. I was hungry and wanted something savory. Server recommended me to get the complete chorizo basque. It has sunny side up organic egg, cheese, and chorizo. They have open kitchen and the smell of crepes is throughout the restaurant, which made me hungrier. The chorizo looked like pepperoni in my opinion. The crepe was very crispy, the flavor of the cheese, egg, and chorizo were great match! I almost order a dessert crepe, but I was full. I passed on the dessert crepe. Will come back again!

The staff was very friendly to both French and English speaking diners and had a copy of the menu in each language. Service was fast and exact, so the whole evening transitioned smoothly! I enjoyed both crepes we got, the side salad with wasabi, and especially enjoyed the sparkling apple cider. I would go back for the cider alone as it made a great end to the evening!
Popular crepe spot with buckwheat galettes and sweet crepes. I went for lunch on a Sunday and it was packed, but I was able to get seated immediately. They don't have too many vegetarian options. I ordered the Montagnarde with no bacon in it. The galette itself was super crispy. It had way too much cheese in it for my liking. It was hard for me to finish it unfortunately. I ended with a classic vanilla butter sugar crepe. They put a small serving of the vanilla butter, which I was barely able to spread throughout. It did taste really good, but I would've like some more butter on it. Very filling meal and good service. 23 euros for 2 crepes. read more

We came here because our DIL picked it for its sans gluten menu. The place is small, and we had to wait for a table to open. Eventually, we were seated at a counter facing out the front window. Personally, I was disappointed that the offering here is nearly all Buckwheat Galettes and Sweet Crépes. They did offer a Cheese Board 《Maison Bordier》 that came with three cheeses and gluten-free bread (3/5 12,50€). Not what I considered an adequate lunch. read more

When in Paris, you must go to a crêperie! Breizh Cafe is a popular crêperie with many locations throughout Paris. The cafe is a tight space, but since we came early, it wasn't busy. They have a clean bathroom upstairs, you'll just need to climb the staircase. We ordered the strawberry crepe and duck and asparagus galette bretonne. So there's actually a bit of a difference between a crepe and a galette. Crepes are usually sweet and made with wheat flour, while galettes are usually savory and made with buckwheat flour. Between the two, I enjoyed the strawberry crepe more, the strawberry jam made the crepe a delicious sweet treat. The flavors of the galette weren't as satisfying to my tastebuds, but I still enjoyed it. I would be interesting in trying other galette flavors next time. While my expectations weren't fully realized (I didn't LOVE it), I still enjoyed giving Breizh Cafe a try. We didn't visit enough crêperies on this trip, so it's something I look forward to doing the next time I'm back in Paris! read more

I was really excited to try this galette, but I was honestly not impressed. I got the seasonal mixed vegetables one, but it didn't go too well with the galette in my opinion. I felt like I was eating an odd salad. read more

Absolutely loved this place! There was a good selection of both sweet and savoury crepes. I had to try both! I got the duck crepe and strawberry rhubarb crepe and they were both delicious. Service was quick and friendly. We did reserve in advance, as the cafe was very busy even at dinner time. read more
We were initially looking for another restaurant on our list, but they were closed. Breizh Café was on the next block and open. This is a very cute cafe restaurant with very friendly staff. The fresh pressed orange juice was INCREDIBLE. We shared the buckwheat crepe with smoked herring and potatoes (I can't remember the exact name)... and loved it! Also get the chocolate crepe! Would eat here again. read more
Fantastic crepes! I wish we would've came earlier before the store was about to close so we could enjoy our crepes inside the restaurant. We came before they were right about to close and they wouldn't take anymore sit-down guests. We had to go next door and order crepes from their to-go shop. Although the crepes are from the same kitchen, it just wasn't the same experience. I just got the simple salted caramel crepe and it was delicious. The batter that they used made for a fluffy and delicious crepe! We had to eat our crepes outside the restaurant but had we dined in, I think I would've ordered something with more toppings. Ice cream perhaps?? I would definitely come back... hopefully before they're about to close next time! read more
We stopped by here for an afternoon tea and it was the perfect place. I would say it is relatively tight, especially if there's a big crowd. We ordered a cup of coffee with milk, espresso, and crepes - caramel with ice cream. The crepe was scrumptious! It isn't overwhelmingly sweet which I was hesitant about. The subtle sweetness of the caramel, fragrance of the vanilla ice cream, and crispness of the crepe was a perfect combination!! To top it off, the coffee paired with it was simply delightful. Definitely a place worthy to stop by if you're in the area :) read more
I've been meaning to go here since this place was recommended to me by many people. My bf and I were able to squeeze in on a weekday at around 7:15 pm without a reservation (they told us we would have to finish by 8:30 pm since the table was reserved then but this was no problem for us). We ordered two savory crepes, a side of wasabi salad, and cider. The crepes we had included one of the specials for the day which I can't remember the name of and a ham/onion one. Both were so delicious and went really well with the sweet cider. The savory crepes are about 12-15 euros each and the sweet crepes are about 10 euros so very affordable. read more
The best Crepe place I've ever had in Paris hands down. Luckily I was recommended by a friend who visits Paris for work often and she would come here often. I highly recommended anyone visiting to come here for a savory and sweet crepe. The wait on line outside is well worth it. Btw, their savory crepes are made with buckwheat which is delicious and I would recommend getting any savory crepe with a sunny side egg. That yolk can make any crepe extra special! read more

The Chinese writer Xiaolu Guo wrote that, "In France, their fish is poisson, their bread is pain, and their pancake is crepe. Poison, pain and crap. That's what they have every day." Au contraire, mon ami! Crêpes are wonderful little French gifts to the world and Breizh has mastered the art of making them. This is a charming but very cramped space in the Marais. It's very well run with a young and efficient management who are able to move tables, manage the kitchen and handle an overflow crowd. Most importantly, these people know their craft when it comes to both crepes and cider. We had a variety of savory and sweet crepes. They are beautifully if simply prepared with their corners folded in so the crepe takes the form of a square, but leaving a space in the middle for an egg or some other ingredient to peek out at you. Our favorites were the cheese and egg., the chocolate, and a special Christmas crepe. The table next to us had the flambé which looked amazing (but wasn't set on fire, don't worry). I also appreciate that the management was very kind to us. I made a reservation in advance on La Fourchette but accidently made it for 8:30 PM when I meant to make it for 12:30 PM. So we arrived without a reservation and had to wait. They turned away many parties but worked to fit us in and didn't appear annoyed or angry about it. I'll go back. read more
We didn't know we had gone into the wrong store until we were finished. We went into the merchandise store next to the cafe, were seated and ordered from the menu. I noticed the food came from outside the main door. Nevertheless, the food was great. I had a scallop and leek buckwheat crepe for 19.50 Euro and a Kiwi juice for 6.50 Euro. Bit expensive but we are on vacation and everything was good. read more
Finally got to try a Parisian crepe during our third trip to Paris and this place was the perfect spot! Breizh cafe has this very clean cafe look and if you sit in the front side of the cafe, you can see the staff making the crepes. We ordered both a savory crepe and a sweet crepe and while both were delicious with fresh ingredients, the savory crepe won our hearts. Do keep in mind crepes are a bit $$ and merely filling so wouldn't expect to substitute this as a meal. read more

Let's start off with the wait: We had to wait over an hour outside in the cold which was pretty rough but my friends and I wanted to commit because of how good the reputation of this restaurant was. We sat in the back which was fine because the seating arrangement fit all of us (the place was pretty small). I ordered the banana and caramel with vanilla ice cream crepe and it was very good. My boyfriend is a savory type of guy so he ordered a crepe with bacon, mushroom, onion, egg and cheese. It was "okay". Another one of my friend ordered a sausage crepe which mashed potatoes and I liked that one a lot. It had a "tripe" texture but I love tripe so I would say it's an "acquired" taste. Good though. Another friend ordered a mushroom crepe. I was not overly impressed with the crepes. I did love the oysters though. That tasted very fresh. It came with a vinegar which complimented the oysters very well. I wasn't so impressed with the restaurant but I would recommend coming here for your sweet cravings. The banana crepe was definitely my favorite out of the crepes I tried. read more

I wanted to try a good buckwheat galette crepe and Breizh café delivered. I had the Raclette which had pork belly, caramelized onions, potatoes and scrambled eggs - delicious! The only negative was the Breizh cola which doesn't compare to a proper coke. read more
After a 3 week trip to Paris this place is now on my "Best of Paris" list. Honestly I don't think I ever had crepes like this before... the only other place I had crepes in France was nowhere near as good as Breizh. First Breizh has a large variety of crepes, both savory and sweet, to choose from. Though you can get some simple and classic crepes they also offer some more flamboyant ones that you can't find in most creperies. I would describe some of them like "crepe pizzas" because they contain a lot of cheese, meat and sometimes sauce. The savory one I had here was with an egg and no sauce... but was still delicious. I have never had a crepe before that felt "heavy" like what this place gave me. Besides their crepes, Breizh also offers a lot of cider options! This, I am guesstimating, is because crepes originate from Brittany and that region is known, like Normandy, for its apples. Regardless of the reason I love cider and really enjoyed what they offered here. Most of their options are in bottles for groups but a few come offered as glasses which is great if you exploring this place out alone. The seating in here is quite limited unfortunately. Though its not close to any super big attractions that I am aware of I think Breizh itself is quite popular to both locals and tourists are frequent patrons. I was able to grab a seat thankfully but it can feel a little Claustrophobic inside. Though its a bit far to get to I would highly recommend this place for crepe or cider fans. Perhaps their are closer chains of Breizh in the heart of Paris for tourists to go to but I can't say whether or not the seating arrangements there are any better. read more

We stopped in for desert crepes and weren't disappointed! Both of our crepes were excellent. My friend had a caramel crepe with vanilla ice cream and I had the a crepe with chocolate sauce, pears and caramelized almonds topped with vanilla ice cream. My only complaint is that the crepes were a bit thin for all the sauce and toppings and I would've preferred a little more balance in the flavors. The person next to me ordered a rhubarb crepe and if I come back I will definitely be trying it for myself . Ambiance is chill and they also have a huge variety of alcoholic drinks. Overall the food was good but I would try another place before coming back. read more
A restaurant with a story! Upon opening the menu, you get a backstory of the owner and the passion behind his restaurant with flavors from Tokyo and France. We weren't in France long, so we did a lot of reviewing on local crepes. Savory or sweet crepes, they all had a unique and excellent taste. Highly recommend! read more
Absolutely adored this place. After having some bad luck at a galette/crepe place the previous day, I was a little wary of trying another, but I'm so glad I did! Honestly, the galette bretonne was probably the best galette I've ever had!! It was perfectly balanced, each bite was fantastic. I strongly recommend it! For dessert, I had the carrément caramel, which was also super yummy, albeit messy and a little difficult to eat--I wish they'd given me a spoon, since the whipped cream and ice cream melt quickly, making it a pretty runny dish. I had a fantastic meal, and it will take a lot of willpower to try other places and not return here again on this trip! read more

We didn't have reservations but they managed to squeeze us in with a pretty short wait despite the fact that the restaurant was full and there were others waiting for a table too. The galettes were amazing and the dry cider was so refreshing. Will definitely go back. read more
