WARNING TO ALL PET OWNERS!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!…read more Between the dates of November 2nd and the 10th 2022, I entrusted WARREN MOONEY'S company, FINAL JOURNEY, in NH, with the care of a beloved pet that had passed. I was advised by the East Boston Animal Hospital to contact Warren Mooney the owner of Final Journey in NH, to discuss a request. I then contacted, Warren over the phone, I introduced myself to him and told him that my family and I have been long-time customers and have been doing business with his company for over a decade. Specific instructions were given to Warren that involved dispersing the remains into two individual containers and that he would put some remains aside for an amulet. Additionally, I was told that there would be no extra charge for my specific requests and I took their word for it; considering that I have been doing business with them for a decade and never encountered any issues, I obviously trusted them. Upon receiving the remains of my pet, I was given two separate boxes but never received the small portion of the remains for the amulet I wished to fashion. I was also charged additional fees even though I was told that no extra charges would come up. When these matters were brought to WARREN'S attention via text, I was immediately met with a careless and arrogant demeanor. WARREN initially instructed me to utilize a hair dryer to melt away the wax sealing in order to retrieve remains for the amulet, something I was not going to attempt nor was it my responsibility. When asked about the extra charges Warren contradicted himself and just waved it away and continued to ignore this issue. I asked for a refund for the unknown fee and for not fulfilling the service as promised. Warren clearly shooed me away when he said he is "now going to spend time with his family". Warren seemed to be done discussing business with me and made me feel his word is worthless and he is a thief. I was appalled at his condescending responses, arrogant tone, careless and unprofessional way he handled my situation. I was upset at how he treated me and told him I did not care who he was going to hang with and not to forget that the pet owners are the ones that pay for his services, NOT the animal clinic. I then blocked him because I felt I would be met with greater hostility.  I contacted the East Boston Animal Hospital and explained my experience with Warren and that I did not want anything to do with him. Due to his severe lack of professionalism, I told them I would let all my friends, family, and colleagues know and warn other pet families NOT to use his services. I told the staff at the East Boston Animal Hospital that my family and I will NOT go through them for end-of-life pet care as long as they continue to do business with Warren and his company.  For over a decade, my family and I have been conducting business with Warren's company. This was my first encounter with him and I am extremely sad to now know this is what we've been dealing with. Warren's poor attitude was nothing short of rude, careless, and arrogant towards my questions and myself, he was completely uncaring and unempathetic regarding my situation and my requests. I do NOT trust Warren and I question his integrity. Throughout the years my family and I have been paying for our pets' end-of-life services, did he ever fulfill our wishes? After this encounter, I feel he did NOT. Unfortunately, there isn't much (if any) quality control or regulations for pet cremation services, which also explains his horrible demeanor, like he can and has gotten away with things.  I deal with customers daily and I would never respond to any of my new, long-term, past, or potential customers with such carelessness and arrogance. Some pet parents choose end-of-life services for their pets, and I truly respect that decision, so please take this as a WARNING and do NOT entrust your beloved pets with this shady guy and his company. I regret ever doing business with WARREN MOONEY and FINAL JOURNEY in NH. By the way, I saved all the text interactions between Warren and me!  The good news and to end on a positive note, there are other end-of-life pet service providers that have integrity, are professional, and actually care about their customers! Be sure to ask your pet's clinic to ensure they don't use this company and do your research to find a quality service provider. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Good luck!

He was a gentle neutered boy but he had never been separated from me or his twin brother and was sick and afraid. They told me he would have to stay overnight to be hydrated, which seemed odd since I know they can do subQ fluids without it needing to be overnight, but they insisted. The vet tech was handling him roughly and they took him away to "examine" him. I heard him literally screaming. When they came I asked what the heck had happened? She said he was "a nervous cat." No one ever called him that. I reluctantly left him--telling them please not to give him any sedatives because they were indicating they might have to sedate him to give him IV fluids. I said PLEASE just give him subcutaneous and get him stable and we'd re-evaluate the next day. I called them later because I had a very bad feeling. Sure enough. They had given him a sedative and he wasn't "coming around" and I said "WHY did you DO that?! I told you not to sedate him under any circumstances" First she said "It is our policy to do so." When I said "Why didn't you tell me that when I asked you to assure me you wouldn't?" She said she'd get her supervisor, who got on the phone and shrieked at me "So you're saying you want to put my staff in DANGER?!" I said he had never attacked or bitten or even hissed at vets before. And the supervisor bellowed: "Your cat is FRACTIOUS!!!" Again: my gentle fellow had never been "fractious" but if you treat any animal roughly and without respect they'll like struggle. Being 18 he'd had lots of vets and none of them ever said he was a "nervous" cat or "fractious." I was going to drive up there at 11:30pm to rescue him but being NH it was snow storming and I'd have to drive thru the mountains to get him. The next day I picked him up and he was so traumatized he didn't know who I was or where he was, they shaved his entire arm. In the past 20 hours he had lost 1/2 his life force. He came to recognize my family, his brother, and me but he was now not only SICK--which he was when I brought him to SAVES (ironic name)--he was now actively DYING. He was in such shock from having been so badly manhandled and being sedated nearly to the point of no return. He died 3 days later. As they say "If I could turn back time." The memory of what they did to him--and how they treated my dear kitty--haunts me to this day.

He arranged for us to bring her remains to Nevins Farm's shelter on Sunday. When we attempted to do so, we had a very distressful situation with a member of the shelter's staff and, therefore, did not leave Scully's remains at the shelter, (see my review of Nevins Farm's animal shelter for more information). Dave personally went to the shelter Monday morning to address the issue. Meanwhile, we went to the shelter and met with Glen Gaccione, who was also very respectful and understanding of what we've been through. Due to what happened the day before - although it wasn't any fault of theirs - Hillside Acre gave us a refund for the cost of the burial. Hillside Acre staff also demonstrated sympathy and compassion three and a half years ago when my cat Mulder passed, as well as several years ago with my parents' cat Lego. Hillside Acre cemetery is large and well maintained. Glen was outside attending to the grounds when we arrived yesterday. The area has a fence. They have an office area for business that's apart from a functioning kitchen and a viewing area with comfortable seating. You can now buy grave stones through Hillside Acre. They also offer grief support and memorial tributes. Burials are free for dogs who have served this country in the military.

Kedron Valley Veterinary Clinic - My bad boy's first visit here, a success :)

I've been bringing my dog to Kedron Valley Veterinary Clinic in Woodstock for nearly five years,…read morebut my most recent visit left me extremely disappointed and concerned. I took my 9-year-old dog in for her annual physical, expecting the thorough exam we've received in the past. Instead, the vet simply handed her a treat and asked if I had any concerns--there was no physical exam whatsoever. No skin check, no ear inspection, no dental look, not even a stethoscope placed on her chest. She never laid a hand on my dog. The vet then took my dog to the back for bloodwork. When a vet tech brought her back, I asked, "That's it? No ear or heart check?" His response: "That's it." I was then charged $129 for what was labeled as an "exam and bloodwork." I've since heard from others in the community that this clinic has changed significantly, and unfortunately, I now feel I've fallen victim to what seems like a disappointing money grab. The standard of care has dropped, and it feels like integrity has taken a backseat to profit. I won't be returning--and I urge others to look elsewhere for a veterinary clinic that values both your pet's health and your trust.
