I had high hopes for Cody Irrigation and Landscape, LLC, especially at first when they were friendly and managed to schedule an appointment within a week. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. I specifically asked for them to call me when they were on the property so I can open the gate. When the appointment week came and went I started to reach out. Despite multiple attempts over the course of two weeks, I didn't hear back. Finally, when I reached someone, I was told they couldn't find the parts needed to complete the job. Oddly enough I was also informed that they completed the job and didn't need to call me because it was done outside the privacy gate (which I had never been made aware of). After a month of unanswered calls, I managed to get a hold of them again. This time, I was told they came to my property 4 times and called me, yet there was no sign of them on security footage, nor any missed calls from them. When I asked if I should just find another company to complete the job, they agreed that I could--at that point, it was clear they had no interest in resolving the issue. They are pretty busy but will answer your call and questions. I've never had sprinkler service or repair so I'm unable to say if they are reasonably priced but they identified the issue and repaired it. They also provided advise on a separate issue so that was above and beyond service for me. Would use them again. read more

Trouble last couple years getting them to respond to phone calls. Then when I would nobody would show up. Gave them another try this year. Been waiting over a month for them to contact me back about fixing something. So had to find another irrigation business. I asked all of my neighbors in Hunters Crossing who they would recommend and everyone said Cody's. I called and left a message two weeks in advance. (I was warned they get booked up) A woman called me back on the same day and scheduled a morning visit the Friday before Labor Day. This was awesome! What great service, I thought. My husband would be recovering from oral surgery and I would be off to manage the visit. This was for an overall check and to fix a zone that wasn't (still isn't) working. The Friday of the appointment came around and Cody's was a no-show. I called twice and left messages. Once in the morning and once in the afternoon. I thought, maybe there was a scheduling confusion with it being labor day. I thought they would follow up the week after, and explain the issue. No. Nope. None of that happened. With my limited time off, this was an absolute waste. What poor customer service. I will continue to spread the word about this...to anyone with an irrigation system in Bastrop who will listen. Next Door. HOA. The neighborhood Facebook page. The hair salon (oh, I did.) Cody's could have called and said I made the mistake and I would have been fine... Nope. No call. Well, I can talk A LOT and I don't like having my time wasted. It. Is. On. TLDR: Don't waste your time. Call someone else. Even if they come from Austin. Worst experience with a contractor ever! After install I Had areas that weren't getting fully covered . So he finally came back and added more heads. That sounded like a great idea but then I had areas getting watered twice. All it needed was heads being moved This caused my Lawn to have fungus issues( new zoysia Lawn). When you question his so called knowledge, this owner gets very nasty, very quickly. This was over a 5k job. I had to pay another company to come out and move heads. We called and let them know the issue we needed addressed. Finally received a call they would come out on a Friday between a certain timeframe, but we were stood up. No call no show. This business used to be good. Over the last year or two, it seems to be falling apart. Cannot keep good people, so the newbies they hire are not well schooled. They don't schedule well and say "maybe x day" and then don't show up and they don't call to tell you they won't show up. Now they are telling people "we are just really busy with a big new job" and after two weeks of waiting, they still cannot promise a date on which they show up. So bye bye longtime customers! Love these guys. We just had them out to install a new sprinkler system for our yard. Charles are his crew are the nicest bunch I've met in a long, long time. They knew what they were doing, were upfront with *everything*, and the price I was quoted was the price I paid. No shenanigans. We first hired Charles Cody of Cody's irrigation to connect our new water well to our existing sprinkler system. Not only did he do a top notch job at that, he also installed hose bibs all around our property. He also discovered several inefficiencies with our sprinkler system and made some changes. Not long after this our property was involved in one of the many Bastrop fires in August and we were faced with having to have hundreds of trees cut down and removed. We called the regular tree services and the bids were staggering. We called Charles and he took care of it at a far discounted price. He has done several homes in our subdivision and everyone has been thrilled with his performance. We have discovered the builders come in and put the cheapest designed sprinkler systems in just to pass the regulation. Charles has been coming in and correcting this by adding more heads/zones as required. For example our next door neighbor had only been in her house for six months but had suffered all summer long with very high water bills and dead grass. In thirty minutes Charles figured out they had connected her sprinkler system to the wrong side of the pressure regulator to the house! We highly recommend Charles and Cody irrigation. They do just about everything. My parents home burned in the Bastrop Complex fire, and Charles and his crew removed the burned out slab and re-leveled the lot in preparation to sell. read more

We called Cody's several years ago and the service was good. Apparently a lot has changed. They came out finally after my husband had left numerous messages with no callback. I called and got a call back. The office manager scheduled a home visit to diagnose the valves that weren't working. They didn't show up. They came finally and marked the 3 of the 4 valves' locations that we already knew were not working, but didn't do the rewiring. We were charged for an hour as show up. We didn't see them again until I called and reminded them. The office manager came out with the technician and it took them 2 hours to dig up 3 valves and 2 hours to try to find the 4th valve. That visit was over $600. More calls as the holes in the yard are still open and one valve MIA. Numerous phone calls and the owner came out and found and fixed the last valve. At this writing, the holes are still in the yard and the work is not complete. The office manager told my husband today to go to Apple Lumber, buy the parts, install them and cover the holes himself. This is after $800+. The office manager is a problem to deal with. She is going to cost this owner a lot of business. read more

I had heard great things about the work Charles and his crew had been doing around our neighborhood, so I made sure I called him when it came time for another sprinkler job. He returned my call quickly, scheduled a visit for an estimate (which was very well priced by the way), and showed up on time to complete the work. They did a great job and did their best to minimize the damage to the yard as they did their work adding another zone. We hired Charles Cody to level, smooth, and berm over our septic filed to keep water from pooling over the field and tank, and to install sod over the remainder of out back yard including the septic feel. We gave hime half done of $4200.00 on 12/20/18 and it took over 4 months for this to be done (some of it was rain time, but by far not all). Finally when we had had enough he came and spread 2 loads of dirt did not smooth the ground, laid the sod and it is so lumpy you need hiking boots to walk in our back yard. As they were doing this I kept telling him there was low spots over the field and tank area for water to pool. He blew me off. And guess what .....our septic is flooded from the rain because the job was not done correctly. I have tried calling several times, went to the office and guess what.....no return calls at all!!!!! He insisted we need sprinklers over the septic even though I told him we would hand water the grass for a couple of weeks. WE did not need sprinkles over a septic filed. Again we can not use of toilets or anything!!!! the yard looks horrible because it is so lumpy. He lives in our neighborhood and we just went to his house to talk to hime and he said we were stalking. yeah NO! He kept telling us to trust him we would not have any more problems. I work for a Major home warranty company in CA and while calling around technicians in the area to join our company to provided Stellar service that we all strive for, I found that the Secretary, and I will use this term lightly...was very rude and unprofessional. The first call made, she hung up...I called back and explained that the call must have been dropped and her reply was, "Yes, purposely", I found that to be very unprofessional so I called back. This time I asked her if she always hangs up on callers that are looking for business? Her reply, very rudely I might add was, "Who are you and who are you with?" I then began to tell her Who I was and Who I was with, when she then talked to me, almost human-like and let me know that they were not interested...not in the nicest professional way that i would have expected I might add. I ended the call by asking, "Now wouldn't that have been more professional than hanging up the phone?" Good luck people!!! read more
