Besides price, the owner Mike was by far the reason we chose Dreamscapes. His demeanor, professionalism, and attentiveness to our needs paid great dividends as the project moved from the planning stages all the way to completion with all the ups and downs you would expect from such a large project. When we first received Dreamscape's bid we wondered what the catch was since all the other companies' bids were so high even though it was an apple to apple comparison. To say it's the wild, wild west in the construction business is an understatement. The price of materials is the price so once you boil down costs you can see if someone is charging too much. It was refreshing to have a business charge a decent price while being able to make a profit for itself that wasn't going to end up with me sending their kids to Stanford. We had received a separate quote for outdoor lights that Mike was able to undercut significantly. Once work started Mike kept in constant communication with us to let us know what the status of his crew was for the day or week so we could plan our days accordingly. His general labor crew was extremely courteous and professional and cleaned up after each day. His stonework guys were the same and I was so impressed with their work that I added a new mailbox to the contract. Mike also has a crew that does topnotch pavestone work that created the design we were looking for. As with all large projects, not everything went according to plan but this is where Mike's professionalism took over. Mike never asked for more money if an item was over budget or his guys had to fix mistakes. He always accepted responsibility as a business owner which says a lot about his ethics and it's evident he takes pride in his company. Dreamscapes turned our yard into a wonderful place to hang out and enjoy during any season. Don't hesitate to call Mike and have him bid on your project. You will be treated professionally, honestly, and will not be ripped off. **********Update 15 September 2017******** Had an issue with our fountain light and Mike fixed with no questions asked and without any of the usual contractor BS. Some areas of the yard were a little sparse on the mulch due to settling and Mike came out with a full pallet of mulch and took care of the problem. Some of the irrigation lines his sub installed were having issues and Mike made sure they were taken care of. He has a good working relationship with his subs which is reassuring. It's great to finally work with a business owner who actually gets that by treating his customers fairly he will get more business and referrals.

Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. I specifically asked for them to call me when they were on the property so I can open the gate. When the appointment week came and went I started to reach out. Despite multiple attempts over the course of two weeks, I didn't hear back. Finally, when I reached someone, I was told they couldn't find the parts needed to complete the job. Oddly enough I was also informed that they completed the job and didn't need to call me because it was done outside the privacy gate (which I had never been made aware of). After a month of unanswered calls, I managed to get a hold of them again. This time, I was told they came to my property 4 times and called me, yet there was no sign of them on security footage, nor any missed calls from them. When I asked if I should just find another company to complete the job, they agreed that I could--at that point, it was clear they had no interest in resolving the issue. This company is unreliable, unprofessional, and doesn't follow through on promises. I would not recommend Cody Irrigation and Landscape, LLC to anyone.

Earlier this winter, I properly winterized our irrigation system using the blowout method. Not long after, we noticed unusually high water bills and suspected a leak. We brought in a plumber to inspect the house and Cox Irrigation to check the irrigation system. The plumber ultimately found the issue--a water heater problem--but Cox Irrigation told my wife (while I was out of town for work) that they found no issues and left. A few weeks later, Winter Storm Fern hit. Shortly afterward, we discovered a major irrigation leak. That's when we realized Cox Irrigation had turned our irrigation system back on during their earlier visit--and left it on--meaning the system was no longer winterized going into a freeze. We had them return to provide a repair estimate. They identified cracks in our previously intact above-ground backflow preventer but completely missed the larger leak. My wife approved a $1,300 repair based on their assessment. As I became more involved, it became clear that Cox Irrigation's actions may have directly contributed to the damage. I contacted the company to raise this concern and ask for a reasonable adjustment to the bill. Instead of any attempt at resolution, I received a call from the owner, Joe Cox, who responded with a profanity-laced tirade. He dismissed our concerns, claimed we couldn't prove anything, and hid behind the fact that the repair had already been approved. He then escalated things further by threatening to come onto our property and remove the backflow preventer--despite me clearly stating multiple times that we intended to pay the invoice (that actually breaks three laws in Texas). This was not just poor service--it was deeply unprofessional and aggressive behavior from the owner of the company. At no point did he attempt to listen, de-escalate, or provide even basic customer service. Between the apparent mishandling of our irrigation system, incomplete diagnostics, poor communication, and the owner's conduct, I cannot recommend Cox Irrigation to anyone.

He was able to diagnose the issue quickly while the guys from the company that takes care of our lawn were clueless, came out unannounced while I wasn't home, said everything checked out fine (it was not fine) and when I called them back told me it would be six to eight weeks before they could come back. Fidel was outstanding to work with, explained the issue in a very understandable way and quickly went to work. When he finished he set the timer in my system to irrigate in a couple minutes. Presto! The system works once again! Fidel returned the settings to where they were and charged what I consider to be an incredibly low fee. I highly recommend LaRaza!

One guy came and fixed the leaks but we had more problems and he said it would take 2 guys 6-8 hours at $180 per man per hour to fix everything. He said that we should probably redo the whole system. We just spent $38k on our backyard landscaping so there's no way we were going to do that. We wanted them to come back with the two guys to fix everything but after 5-6 phone calls, they never responded. What a terrible way to do business!! We called bluebird and they sent someone out the next day and charged $150 an hour. What a huge difference! And he spoke English! The guy from Taurus didn't speak English and we couldn't understand what he was trying to tell us. The guy from Bluebird fixed a broken pipe and replaced a value in 2 hours! We couldn't be happier. $300 as opposed to $2160! Don't use Taurus irrigation
