Best coffee shop in Merced hands down. Showcasing local art and a wall advertising local events to check out, a book section and plenty of cozy seating. Baristas are friendly & do not disappoint, they're knowledgeable of their products and make a mean drink. My favorite is the iced caramel latte with oatmilk but they have a large selection of delicious teas. The hot lavender tea was dreamy. Also vegan baked goods are a highlight here. I've been here before and I love the calm atmosphere of this place. A perfect spot to come study and enjoy some local art. let me start by saying, if you want an AMAZING bagel and fresh coffee, this is the place for you! Their bagels are soooo good! I got the Sausage bagel with pesto and my partner got the same, but with an everything bagel!! Literally amazing. their coffee tastes so fresh and the service is super sweet and make you feel like you're at home! The food is noticeably fresh and warm. Good portions and delicious. The driver, Beau, with Grubhub went above and beyond duty greeting with the food at the door. Unfortunately our small dog ran out but Beau was courteous and helpful. He even attempted helping with our fur baby. Thank you to him for not panicking, remaining calm and being helpful. Huge space, lots of tables to study at, but the coffee is mediocre. The latte and americana was super watered down, super pricey, and very disappointing. After one sip, I instantly regretted not going to Starbucks. If you are in the area, try ASIP if you don't want Starbucks! It's way better. read more

Came in on a Sunday to get some studying done. The store is in the same building as the movie theater and it's a pretty old building. The furniture was all random and it did not match each other quite well. They also had repurposed church benches as seats among many different types of chairs. The space seemed very random. I then got the Italian soda which was wayyyyy to sweet I wouldn't recommend it. Also had their turkey sandwich which was good but way to expensive. The veggies in it were also kind of wilting which keyed in that the food is not necessarily fresh. The good thing about it is there are so many outlets and the WiFi works pretty good. So if you just want a place that has reliable WiFi and a table this is a good option, just don't order the Italian soda hahah. read more

While driving through Merced, I decided to check Yelp for a nearby open coffee joint and this choice was the first few (of which I had many filters) that was open pretty late in the noontime. Looking for parking was pretty simple, as we found the free public parking within the vicinity. The barista that greeted my family and I was kind and was pretty helpful with giving us deets on how to choose from their menu. They even have other mini menu charts to use in order to help customers pick their own drink. I hope that I can return to this establishment, as they have so many more drinks I want to try. read more

The space is comfortable, quiet very relaxing with plenty of inside seating with two covered patios in front with tables one is fenced in. There are beautiful local art on the walls. They have games that you can hang out and play. They serve breakfast delicious sandwiches, bagels, and my favorite vegan blueberry scones. The coffee is too die for. After picking up a Uhaul trailer I was in search for a coffee shop nearby. I was unable to find a Peet's or a CBTL so I decided to stop by Coffee Bandits. Easy parking on the street right off Main, my lady and I ordered a couple of iced blended drinks to help beat the heat. I had a good (not great) iced mocha while the lady was going to at first have an iced blended mocha. She was talked out of the iced blended mocha by the person taking our order and suggested she have a peanut butter chocolate ice blended. I think the peanut butter chocolate had potential but something was missing...oh thats right, it was missing the chocolate! The drink was yellow in color and tasted like unsweetened liquid peanut butter. After a sip by the lady and a sip by me it was evident that we had just wasted $4 on a drink. I always feel bad to waste anything but this drink was inedible. I was really disappointed with my lady's drink because the other reviews on Yelp almost gave nothing but praise for Coffee Bandits. This makes me think I was probably just unlucky with my experience. So I am not ruling out that I will try this place again. I probably will need to avoid anything with peanut butter. Yea! Merced finally has a coffee place with a nice variety of options. We were traveling through and found Coffee Bandits on Yelp. We went in to ask what they recommend as my husband usually likes a pour over. The barista said, I can do a pour over for you! He explained he had 3 kinds of coffee to choose from. We went with the medium Costa RIcian. While it was a little darker than he likes, it was pretty good. They has a variety of sweeteners including simple syrup and a simple syrup made with coffee so it doesn't water down the coffee. They also had a nice variety of teas. We hope they add a pour over or French press to their menu officially. When we looked at the photo of the menu on Yelp we almost didn't come because we didn't see those options. read more
