    Burger and fries

We went here a few times during our visit to Merced. The first visit was for breakfast which was really good. I was very pleased that they were able to make me an iced latte. And the selection of pastries was mouth watering. I highly recommend the pumpkin bread. Not sure if they offer it as a side for breakfast all year but when they offer it, just get it. So gooood! Second visit was for lunch. The burger was decent. Not the best burger I have had but it did the job. Their sandwiches looked amazing. If I had to do lunch over again I would get one of the sandwiches. And of course I got the pumpkin bread on the side for lunch as well lol. Our friend that recommended this place mentioned that the courtyard is super cute. It was not great weather during our visit so we didn't get to experience that. Maybe next time!

All I have to say is OMG!!! The pastries and breakfast here are amazing. I basically love anything churro related, so when I saw a churro cheesecake bar.....um yes please!!!! I also love eggs Benedict, which did not disappoint. It was raining the day of our visit, but they have a wonderful little courtyard to sit outside in. And service was spot on, very accommodating with any adjustments to the menu items you need.

Mediterranean chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries

I was in town visiting and wanted to get brunch. I found Toni's through a Yelp search with great reviews. Was seated outside since it was nice and the restaurant was pretty busy. Got the Mediterranean chicken sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries and blackberry iced tea. My friend ordered the breakfast burrito. It was hard to choose since all the items on the menu looked really good. Our waitress also let us know that the size of the dishes are fairly large and if we wanted, some items keep well to the next day if we couldn't finish. I was amazed by how large our plates were. I don't regret my decision for the Mediterranean chicken sandwich. It has feta, chicken, pesto, sun dried tomatoes and spinach on a focaccia bread. Also got ranch and a sweet chili dipping sauce to go with my fries. The chili sauce was an interesting combo to dip with the fries but I'm a sucker for ranch, and appreciated the waitress for providing me with dipping options! The fries were large and crispy which is nice as some places make them mushy even after they have been sitting for awhile on the plate. They definitely held up as I was finishing my sandwich. My friend's breakfast burrito was pretty large and filling as well. She enjoyed her meal and didn't have any complaints. I can see why so many love this place. Great selections of food options for brunch and lunch which includes light, medium and heavier fares. I forgot to note down the name of our waitress but she was attentive, knowledgeable and didn't make us feel rushed to eat & pay. The atmosphere was just nice, inviting and relaxing for Sunday. Next time when I'm in town again, will make sure to stop by for a visit.

I am so glad I was finally able to give Toni's a try! I went on a Saturday afternoon and even though it was a little busy, I was not disappointed. There are plenty of seats inside and outside. We decided to sit outside and it was beautiful. There is plenty of shade so you do not feel the heat at all. The breakfast burrito was bomb! I got it with both chorizo and sausage, but I liked the chorizo more. The cheese crust on the outside makes it different from other burritos. I just wish it came with a spicy aioli or something.

I've been to numerous brunch spots in the area and this was by far the best. The breakfast burger was flavorful and delicious. I also order the Tri tip sandwich, which was delicious. The country potatoes weren't the best they don't taste homemade but were decent. The portion sizes are ginormous! The services was amazing, they checked on the table and brought the food out quickly. The ambiance of the place was cute and hipster vibes. Overall, would recommend.

This place is a gem in Merced. It is conveniently located near Main Street and the outside is basically an oasis away from the city. The food is good and the pastries are even better!

The chilaquiles were dry. But service was very nice. Maybe I need to try something different in the menu.

My family and I enjoyed a weekend brunch here when we came to Merced to helped my niece return college and moving in dorm. I had the chorizo special, pumpkin bread, and sweet tea. I wish I had ordered the blueberry lemonade, as that was homemade and fresh squeezed! I got dispenser sweet tea, not homemade. The fresh, homemade pumpkin bread was very moist and yummy! I did not love their chorizo dish. It was all potatoes. There was hardly any chorizo on the plate! I literally had to dig and look for any chorizo remnants under the pile of potatoes and feta. It was literally a plate of breakfast potatoes and feta cheese, with a side of avocado. The special came with eggs, but I do not eat eggs (allergic) so requested a substitution of spinach. I appreciate that the staff was willing to make the substitution. It was the complete lack of chorizo, what should have been the main ingredient in the dish, that made this dish such a disappointment.

On Saturdays, what's the time cutoff between breakfast and lunch menus?

I think they are in the process of making some changes about this. Last time I went, mid October 2024, we ordered breakfast around 10:45am and waitress mentioned they may open it all day soon. Long time coming so I hope they do.

You could easily share them between two people and they let you choose a sauce for the pancakes, whether that's syrup Nutella or condensed milk. The espresso shots were actually really good. I was shocked because they are literally shots of espresso. They are not alcoholic unless you ask for alcohol in them. This spot actually offers complementary soup before your meal. For us Mexicans, it's called Sopa de Fideo. This soup was actually authentic, and it was really flavorful and good and was basically an appetizer to the breakfast. The espresso shots did come with a side of bread. Personally, I'm not a big person on espresso by itself however, these espresso shots were really good! Now the actual service here was great. Our waiter was attentive She was constantly refilling our water cups and she was able to give us recommendations for what to eat. Also I will add her recommendations were spot on. The inside of this restaurant is really aesthetically cute. There's a bunch of green anywhere outside. They have a cute patio area where you can eat. If you decide to do that! Anyways, I would definitely come here again. It was reasonably priced and it was really good for a breakfast spot. I will say that and the soup was a nice touch because I love soup!

We asked if they could do a special order: a burrito deconstructed, with over-easy eggs and the tortillas on the side. They were totally accommodating, and it was exactly what I was craving--fresh, filling, and seriously delicious. I went for the blueberry pancakes, and wow: they were enormous, fluffy, packed with real blueberries, and basically the perfect pre-hike fuel. And the coffee? Amazing, as always. I meant to take a picture of my food, but honestly I accidentally didn't--because everything looked so good that I dug in immediately. And even without the photo evidence, the presentation and plating were incredible, just like they always are. This place has my heart. I'd give it a hundred stars if I could--highly, highly recommend.

Staff here are friendly, there's a solid bit of history and kitsch in the very back on the way to the restrooms, giving character to what is otherwise a decidedly local, low-frills experience. The steak salad (was it a steak taco salad?) looked quite tasty but also ordinary so I skipped it and stuck with breakfast; the sausage and eggs were very much unremarkable, but at least the hashbrowns were nicely pan fried and the eggs were a large portion. Biscuit and gravy reinforced the former impression, but again, hard to complain-- did the job. This place is super affordable and the overall verdict is a solid local place that's easy to appreciate but hard for me to say I would actually get excited about.

I wasn't very hungry, so I opted for a bowl of soup with a side of cornbread and a slice of pie to go. The soup was hearty and plentiful. I could have gone for a cup instead, but instead took what I couldn't eat to-go and enjoyed it later. The corn bread was delicious--slightly sweet, and moist enough to not fall apart when I cut into it with my fork. I usually love butter with corn bread, which they offered me, but it didn't need it. I wasn't sure which pie to get-they have so many to pick from. Checking out the options in the bakery case didn't help because they all looked so beautiful. I ended up selecting peach, and it was amazing. The peaches were perfectly caramelized but still maintained their texture. The bake of the pie brought out their ultimate peachiness. The crust was just the right thickness. Even though it was a cold slice, the crust remained flakey. The cafe had ample seating. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. Pricing is on the high end, but I'm not sure how much that is because food is so expensive now-a-days. I was a bit surprised to see sandwich combos (with a side) all starting at around $20, and going up from there. It was after 2 in the afternoon, so the bakery had several 50% off boxes of baked goods to select. Four large cookies for I believe $12 or so (I could be wrong). There weren't too many options left in the bakery cases. I would love to see what this place offers when it first opens. Stay tuned for an update once I get that chance.
