From the moment you walk into Hola Cafecito you can feel the warmth and something special about this place that makes you want to come back for another visit, and you haven't even seen the menu yet. I'm visiting in town and someone local recommended this location sharing that it's the BEST COFFEE SPOT in Merced and I now that I've visited, I AGREE! I love visiting local, family owned mom and pop shops on my "adventures" near and far and I use Yelp and Google review to help me when I'm out and about on my journey beyond my local community. Hola Cafecito has the BEST AVOCADO TOAST I've ever had, and I try them at little breakfast coffee houses everywhere I go! I added feta and bacon to my order, but it would have been delicious even without those addons. They have a homemade chili based oil that they drizzle on top of it that is absolutely amazing. I could not decide between any of the drinks b because I wanted to try five of them...so Greg helped me narrow my selection down. I ordered the Cafe Con Leche with the vanilla cream and it was perfect... It was so good.I think I want to take an Iced Dirty Horchata to go! I highly recommend this special little spot on Main Street, anytime you are in the Merced area. I personally think they should open up a second location near UC MERCED because we all know college students need an extra dose of caffeine on those late nights and early mornings. I tried this spot for their coffee since it popped up as somewhere to go on Yelp. The coffee was super fresh and it was sweet, but not too sweet if that makes sense. Service was really quick. The actual location is packed the day that we went. There was a bunch of people here there's plenty of seating for everyone. There's also a cute photo opportunity kind of towards the back that has this really cute sign. The workers were friendly and were really quick surprisingly. They also offer food here which I don't think I saw when I first looked it up. A few people had Chilaquiles and they looked really good. Dare I say the best coffee in the 209??? Hola Cafecito is the most perfect addition to main street Merced. The coffee, the culture, the vibes, the service! I have zero complaints. I try to make it here every trip home because it is so damn good. Let's start with the goods: the dirty horchata is done very well. Not overly sweet but you actually taste the rice & cinnamon and all the things that make horchata wonderful. The only thing that would make it better is if they offered this dairy free but minor detail! I will suffer lol The cafe con leche is delic! Brown sugar & cinnamon, another unbeatable combo. You really can't go wrong with any drink here. Not only is the space beautiful but the staff is super kind. I can tell that they make their syrups in house which is great but it seems like in this case their brown vanilla tastes more like burnt vanilla. When making their syrup they must've let the sugar burn a bit. They may be thinking the "brown" in the name would disguise the flavor so they still put it out this way?? As a matcha connoisseur, and a merced native who hasn't lived in merced for years now coming back to my hometown and see quality resturants is so refreshing ! The matcha was amazing and the barista was very good, I can appreciate that it's not pre sweetened or light green. Hola Cafecito is a new Specialty Coffee shop in the heart of Downtown Merced. As a second location to their refined Hanford, CA location, our growing town loves this new location! Being a first time customer, the staff was very kind and helpful in helping me choose my drink. I went with the Iced Mazapan Latte (20oz) with Oat Milk, which was highly recommended by friends and staff. The drink was delicious! I paid $10 including tip and honestly, I would pay more for the great taste, high quality coffee, and smooth finish! Hola Cafecito provides Almond and Oat options in addition to their standard milk and cold foam. The ambiance of the cafe is so beautiful! I went at a fairly busy time in the afternoon, and I was still able to get a table to sip my drink.
