Coffee Beanery in Owings Mills is my daily go‑to spot -- truly my favorite takeout place ever -- and the reason is simple: Farouk and his incredible team. Every day, I order my caramel crunch swirl drink with whipped cream and an extra shot of espresso, plus both a mango smoothie and a strawberry‑banana smoothie. Their drinks are exceptional -- and their smoothies are honestly the best I've ever had anywhere. I recognized Farouk the very first day I walked in, even before I knew why. He used to serve me at Rita's across the street, and he's one of those rare lights of a human you never forget -- not because of what they say, but because of how they make you feel. When he looked up and said, "How are you, my friend? I used to serve you at Rita's!" everything clicked. He remembers my name. He remembers my complicated daily order to the letter. He greets me with warmth every single time -- even when I walk in two minutes before closing. And unlike so many places these days, he never shows irritation or rushes me. He makes me feel valued. One night, I accidentally called 30 minutes after they had already closed -- and Farouk still answered the phone, cheerfully, by name, and took my order anyway. Only after confirming it would be ready did he gently mention their Sunday hours. He still insisted I come pick it up. That kind of customer service is almost unheard of today. There's also Yani, who is shy but incredibly talented. She listens with her whole heart and makes drinks that feel like little works of art. She puts genuine care into every cup. And the kindness doesn't stop there. I've been surprised with freebie drinks when there was extra smoothie mix, offered a mistaken drink for free, and even had two drinks remade after I dropped them in the parking lot. Farouk saw it happen, took the empty cups from my hands, and recreated them without hesitation. Moments like these create customers for life. Came here a year ago and loved the potential but not the food or service. So I'm Back to see how it's going. Some change. Place is still clean and looking new! They take good care of it. Interesting K cups for sale!! Eggnog, strawberry rhubarb, and other flavors you won't see elsewhere. Gone is the cherry coffee. And breakfast was 24 dollars for a coffee and flat croissant. I wanted the fluffy one with chocolate and pistachio but they got the order wrong and I got the flat, moist bottomed, sugar topped with artificial crusties that they call knaifev and I suspect is a phyllo dough crunchy. No bagels now (there is a bagel place in the complex). Coffee was ok. Took a while for the serve and sit for a regular coffee. Still lots of potential. They are trying. And for convenience, or before or after a soldiers delight hike it hits the spot just right. read more

I was in the area for a conference on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and needed a pick me up. I found Coffee Beanery here on YELP!! It's located on the side of the New Town shopping center, kind of towards the back, depending on where you enter the parking lot. There's plenty of indoor seating, very cozy, as well as outdoor tables & seats. I was helped right away and ordered a latte and 2 spinach pastries! I sat in at a little table by the window, and ate my first pastry and it was so fresh and delicious, it reminded me of Greece. Unfortunately, the main reason I went there, the coffee...it had burnt taste. I ended up only drinking a little bit and poured the rest out. I'm sure they probably have great coffee, but it was 4:30pm and I'm thinking I got an old batch. I would definitely go back again for the pastry and try the coffee again, earlier in the day. Came in on a weekday morning. I wanted to try out their coffee. It was a quick trip. I only ordered a plain black coffee. The parking lot is shared with a lot of other businesses, but there was plenty available. It is small inside with just a few seats available. There were plenty of pastries, but I did not partake today. Coffee was about the same as a a Starbucks. They do have plenty of flavors and espresso. I am a plain black coffee kind of guy. read more

The coffee beanery opened in the Newton Village Center in Owings Mills about a month ago. Bringing a coffee option to the shopping center once again after the last coffee shop relocated a few years ago. The menu offers pastries and sandwiches as well as coffee and teas. They offer a punch card rewards program where you can get a free beverage after 12 punches. Who doesn't love a good incentive. The coffee shop offers a seating area towards the front where you can sit and enjoy you coffee and food. There is a bathroom tucked away in the back for customers to use. They have merch for sale such as take home coffee and teas as well as travel mugs. The staff is very nice and attentive. The owner, Frankie, came out to introduce himself to me. I welcomed them to the neighborhood. And Faruq took my order and made sure my coffee was.made just right I usually make my coffee at home but decided to stop in to give them a try and it was a pleasant experience all around. I stopped in for a late afternoon, coffee and treats. I found a delicious crumble cake that was topped with a delicious brown sugar crumble and a soft cake underneath. My drink was a caramel crunch Frappe, which was actually pretty good topped with whipped cream and crunchy bits in it made it a wonderful afternoon treat and enough caffeine to get me through The evening. There were plenty of tables to sit at where people were chatting. They have ground coffee for sale in addition to muffins and cinnamon rolls, teas, juices, croissants, warm food and other snacks. There is a single bathroom for guests to use if needed and I really did appreciate the warm inviting Charm of the barista who quickly made my drink. read more

Nice to see another coffee shop take over this location. I have only visited a few times, but I know that I will be back pretty often. I have not yet indulged in the pastries, but they look delicious and there is a wide variety. Additionally, the staff want to ensure you are happy with your drink and are happy to make any adjustments; that type of care and personalization is deeply appreciated. Plenty of parking in the shopping center as well. read more

Hubby spotted this cafe, which has limited competition nearby. I ordered a Caramel Espresso and he selected the White Mocha Raspberry with a dubai chocolate bar to go. Total order was approx $21. Pricing is ok but slightly high (comparably to Starbucks). My drink was good- hot and not too sweet. Hubby's was sweeter yet, enjoyable. The flavors were pronounced and not watered down. It took about 6 mins to get our order and there were 3 patrons there working. The space is well-designed and would be a nice spot to work, relax or read. They have a plethora of pastries to complement any drink order. I would go back and think they are a good addition to the New Town plaza read more

First time today and I will definitely be back! The owner is clearly excited and plans to add new drinks as they continue to be open. There is a book club once a month and plenty of space to sit and enjoy a beverage. I'd love to see some comfortable couch/chair seating. I will be back with a book to try more options! read more

Cute new place that opened where Starbucks used to be. Went around 10 am on a Wednesday and it wasn't crowded / no lines. The almond croissant was 10/10 never had one like it! While I don't frequent the New Town side of Owings Mills like I use to, I'm grateful to see new businesses in this shopping area. The exit of Starbucks (or rather, the relocation to the Mill Station shopping center) was sudden and left a hole in this community. So glad the coffee beanery has filled that void. The inside looks very much like the Starbucks of late, featuring coffees, teas, and tumblers on the wall to your right as you enter the store. A few different pastries were available (mostly muffins) and they offered your standard mochas, lattes, and teas. I kept it safe by ordering two white mochas with oat milk. The customer service was 100%. Drinks were handcrafted and took about 8 minutes to make, a bit slower than I'm use to, especially when there were no customers ahead of me. Perhaps they were taking extra care in making sure the drinks were perfect (they were). I'd love to see more pastry offerings in the future, but overall, this was a pleasant experience.
