The interior is far larger than I expected-- with large windows, high ceilings, and an airy ease that belies its origins as a converted bank. There is a generous amount of seating as well After interrogating the barista on the exact ratio of espresso to milk on their cortado, I ordered it without any expectations. What a pleasant surprise: a rich and smooth espresso, with the perfect amount of milk. Exactly what I needed. 10/10 would get the cortado again. And probably tomorrow.

After they left, the barista immediately went to the other side of the restaurant and no one was making coffee anymore. I had to interrupt the front desk cashiers whispering to each other and giggling while a line of 3+ people waited. They told me that my coffee was up, at the other side of the restaurant, and I should have heard it. Terrible professionalism and customer service. Plus all that for an average coffee. The cafe itself is so cute and inviting, the kind of place you can easily settle into for a while. We loved that they feature local pastries, which made the whole experience feel even more special. The coffees were delicious across the board. My personal favorite has been the tiramisu latte, but honestly, you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I was so excited for this Hazlet location to open, although it seems to be more in Keansburg. Nevertheless, it's closer to me than the Middletown location. I ended up stopping by on their opening day, which was the day after Thanksgiving. There was a pretty good crowd there, but it wasn't too overwhelming. What I loved is that I still received the same friendly service that I get at Middletown. My namesake, Mia, was there. :-) Also, this location has seating!!! It's beautiful on the inside and now provides a place to meet up with a friend to sip and chat or even have a coffee/tea date. In addition, they also sell a few pastries and merch is available for purchase as well. Needless to say, I'm excited that this new location is open and look forward to more of their fun, seasonal drinks.
