I can't believe I've never written a review for this amazing cafe! I visited for the first time almost a decade ago, but I've been coming more frequently now that it's very close to my new job. Everything I've had here has been absolutely delicious! My top espresso choices are La Jolla, Pebble Beach, and Maple Brown Sugar Espresso. The Pebble Beach cereal treat and Cookie Dough Croissant are also very tasty if you're looking for a sweet treat :) I'm always on the go when I grab a drink here, but there's plenty of indoor seating and the interior (including the bathroom) is always clean and a great space to do work or meet up with a friend. Staff is always nice and efficient and it's located in a strip mall, so there's always plenty of parking. They also sell lots of cute merch, including a Pebble Beach candle that smells like Fruity Pebbles! One of my favorite cafes in NJ! read more

Have wanted to try this coffee spot for awhile and I'm so glad I finally did! Not only was this latte stunning to look at but it was also so good. The lavender flavor was so prominent and the coffee was so smooth. It's their spring special Honey Lavender Latte and I 100% trying before it's gone! Great and friendly service. The strawberry rose lemonade was sweet and refreshing. The Alcatraz was delicious and reminded me of chocolate milk. They have plenty of wall outlets for you to use if you need to bring your laptop and get some work done. The place has great music playing in the background but not so loud where you can't carry a conversation. I stopped in randomly on a Saturday morning after being in town visiting friends. I was looking for a good coffee shop that wasn't a chain and California Cold Co was a great choice. It's been too long since I gave one of my fave cafes a little Yelp love. And since it's Women's History Month, they get double love with a review update (spoiler alert: still 5 stars!!!) There is no bad drink on the menu, sure there are some that are super sweet and some that are perfect when you want more of a true cup of coffee, but they all hit the spot. Some favorites: the La Jolla & the avocado toast. It is a perfect combo for a coffee break and snack. I am pretty sure I mentioned them in my review back in 2019, so my tastes have not changed much. They have soooo much seating inside. Tables, high tops, couches. I've mostly only ever been in on the weekdays, but I don't think you'll have trouble getting a seat if you want one. They also have some tables outside on nice days. The baristas are all incredible helpful and sweet. Always patient with my questions like "how sweet is this drink?" or "wow this bread is good, what kind is it?!" Anyway, if you haven't been, I highlyyyy recommend. Oh! Ordered was the Alcatraz, one of their Signature Crafts, which has a double espresso shot, house-made vanilla, activated charcoal and oatmilk. Added were the dark ice coffee cubes. The beverage was smooth, flavorful, with just the right amount sweetness and a nice caffeine hit. The dark ice coffee cubes retained coldness without thining out the drink. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised at the cool vibes that this place gives when you walk in, because it's a part of a very unassuming, sorta blah looking strip mall. But, the best part... I've never seen a more creative cafe menu in my life! I mean, Fruity Pebble iced coffee?? Of course, I had to get that one... espresso, vanilla, and Fruity Pebble milk.. it was perfect. You can ask for less of the Fruity Pebble milk to make it less sweet.. which I did. They have a great seasonal menu that sounded over the top good... pumpkin spice anyone? There is a great sitting area in the back with really comfy clean couches, armchairs, and a table where my guest and I sat. Nice beats were playing. According to the barista, they've been in Manalapan for about 2 1/2 years (around the same time we opened our second office location) and we still have yet to find a new coffee spot other than Rook. I've visted L.A./SoCal countless times so when I found this coffee spot thanks to the raving review from my CM, Katarina L., I had to see why a coffee shop in Central Jersey is called California Cold Co. It turns out that the owner lived in the West Coast. All the oversized mural and photographs of Venice Beach & the Hollywood sign were taken by him. Surveying the menu was super fun to read because all the drinks and bites were named after places in San Francisco or L.A. Here is what we ordered: - Monterey Bay (Chocolate, Coconut, Choice of Milk) - Alcatraz (House-Made Vanilla, Activated Charcoal, Oat Milk) - Banana Foster Latte (Espresso, Banana, Caramel, Honey, Milk of Choice) I give all the drinks a 10/10. With every sip, I can taste the fresh brewed espresso with a perfectly balanced aftertaste of the banana in my Banana Foster Latte. And if you're like me who likes to suck and crunch on ice, you can add Dark Ice Coffee Cubes for $.50 extra but I wouldn't say it enhanced the drink.
