The tea service for adults costs $38 per person, and it includes a loose-leaf steeped kettle of tea, two desserts with fruits, assorted scones with clotted cream and jam, and three flavors of sandwiches. The tea service for children costs $25 per person, and it includes a loose-leaf steeped kettle of tea, two desserts with jam, one scone, and two flavors of sandwiches. Sales tax and gratuity are added. These prices are lower than what some other tearooms in the Pittsburgh area charge.
Reservations are available for individuals and for events such as bridal and baby showers and birthday parties. I made a reservation online for my husband and me.
We parked our vehicle in a parking lot behind the building. When we entered the business, the owner Desiree greeted us and seated us at a spacious table that was plated with beautiful cups, plates, and utensils. The tearoom was nicely decorated for Christmas and had garland, a wreath, a tree, toy soldiers, etcetera. A vintage jukebox played music. Wide-brimmed hats were on a rack. There was even a teapot-shaped nightlight in a wall receptacle.
The tea menu listed many black teas (e.g., English breakfast, Scottish breakfast, and Vanilla Rose), green teas (e.g., imperial gunpowder and tropical), herbal teas (e.g., chamomile lemon, pomegranate rooibos, and cardamon cinnamon), and oolong tea.
Desiree took our order on time, and she soon brought out our teapots and an impressive three-tier tower of the desserts, scones, and sandwiches. I drank the Chai Black Tea, and my husband drank the Ginger-Peach Black Tea. The teapots were a large size, so we never ran out of teas. We poured the teas over strainers over cups. Creamer and sugar cubes were available.
Because our visit was during the Christmas season, we enjoyed the Merry Madeleine and Santa Hat Brownie for sweets, various flavors of scones, and Christmas Cucumber, Italian Focaccia, and Chicken-Bacon Crumble for sandwiches. I liked the flavors of all of these foods, and my husband most enjoyed the raspberry brownie and the chicken-bacon sandwich.
We really enjoyed this tea experience, and we highly recommend that other people make a reservation here.
