Wow, what a gem of a little coffee shop. They sell all sorts of snacks and local goods. There are some coffee samplers available from Zojurushi coffee machines (TIL those exist???) next to the entrance. The flavors were rich and very representative of the notes they were trying to convey. Fruit notes, chocolate notes, caramel notes.. somehow, they've made a coffee nearly taste like an infusion. Maybe they are, since the cold brew flavors are so unique here. Overall, an unexpected gem of a find in El Paso and one of the best coffee shops I've been to in a while. read more

My review is for a wrapped gift assortment I received purchased in this Coffee Emporium location. The gift assortment was perfectly wrapped in Cellophane wrap with my favorite color bow. Vast and beautiful, the assortment contained tea lovers' items, two different kinds of tea: decaf mango and green tea--a lovely green tea mug with infuser and Happy Birthday Chocolate Bar. I have never visited this location, but seeing how perfectly the gift was wrapped and how neat all the items are, I would say this is a perfect place to get some coffee or tea and pick up beautiful gifts for your loved ones. Eh, lukewarm at best. Service was polite but not welcoming. We visited to redeem a gift card, and put it off for quite some time. However, today was the day we had time to stop by and shop. Selection was somewhat limited and pricey. Instead of lingering around to shop, and I love to shop, I felt a need to leave, and leave quickly. What a horrible experience! Wanted to grab a few bags of coffee, and as an ex barista I did not want to get the usual brands from Albertsons or Target. When I walked in the girl behind the bean counter, short hair, light complexion, stared at me with the worst look on her face as if I completely ruined her day. She did not say hello or greet me, or ask if I was looking for anything in particular, but just kept staring at me like as I looked at the coffee bean options and when I attempted to ask her about medium roasts she spoke to me in the most condescending tone. I felt so uncomfortable I opted for whatever was in front of me and decided to only get the smallest bags possible instead of the three full pound bags I was expecting to purchase in order to get out of there as quickly as I could. It's so sad as I had been wanting to visit this place for a while but I will never be back. If you hate your job that much you should probably quit because scooping beans and making recommendations is not that hard. The gentlemen who checked me out was the only reason I didn't speak my mind to the moody girl. Thank you for your kindness sir. Will never buy here again. read more

Yes. The answer is yes, you should go. This is such a neat coffee shop with confection options!! A huge coffee variety, extremely WONDERFUL "barista" and so many cool things to browse and buy. Came on a mini date with my toddler (no, he's not a coffee drinker) and ordered an espresso con panna (just espresso with whipped cream on top) and some chocolates. Mr. Magorium didn't actually die at the end of Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, he just packed up, moved to El Paso for retirement and opened The Coffee Emporium (you cannot convince me otherwise). Sure, he toned down the magic (I assure you, your chocolate will not get up and walk away if it finds your character a bit somber), but the wonder is still there. Anything slightly relatable to coffee is at TCE. Coffee. Tea. Chocolates. Jelly Beans. Birthday Cards. Trinkets. Doodads. On paper the relation doesn't make sense, but inside TCE it makes complete and total sense. The coffee. The cappuccino. The hot chocolate. You just can't go wrong. If it's supposed to have a strong coffee taste it will. There's also the coffee of the day, that is brewed and ready for the taking towards the back. The lattes don't come with latte art, but it's simplicity and focus on good coffee is, much like TCE as a whole, charming. read more

I remember stopping by and thought everything was so cute and neat, such a nice looking shop. I tried to order some coffee and had one person in front of me, she was taking a long time asking all sorts of questions and no one offered to start my coffee even though they noticed me standing there, nor acknowledged that I was still waiting even though they all looked and made eye contact. Then the lady moved on from coffee question to the truffles and chocolates that were next to the coffee. Still no help. So I left, won't be back since customer service is not equal. read more

What a cool coffee shop! Its more than coffee.. its chocolates, fudge, seasonings for oils, flavored oils, baking goods, finger food items, el paso souvenirs, jewelry, accessories... its endless! I could spend hours hanging out here or just looking at everything they offer! All while enjoying my double shot latte and fudge! Lol I think my only gripe is how the latte tasted. The coffee flavor to it just wasnt as smooth as i like it to be so i was slightly disappointed in that aspect. I still enjoyed finishing it though. And the fudge i got was regular milk chocolate flavored i believe and it was delish! I guess i got too excited when i was hoping for other flavors like pb and chocolate or cookies and cream. Today, they offered the milk choc or added pecans or walnuts basically. Not a fan of whole nuts in my fudge. Their milk choc fudge is delicious tho! Overall, great lil spot to grab some sweets or a coffee. I think I'll try their el paso latte since that has cinnamon in it and could balance out the coffee bitterness more! This shop is awesome! Don't get me wrong, I love Starbucks but...I wanted to try something different and local. It took me about 20 minutes to order! I couldn't decide right away because their coffee selection is huge! I finally went with a cinnamon bun frappe. The flavor was amazing! The cinnamon, coffee and whipped cream blended well together. I also got a brownie. It was very sweet but good. It had chocolate frosting and chocolate sprinkles. The prices are reasonable if you're comparing it to a chain coffee shop or restaurant. Coffee Emporium also has a wide selection of chocolates, candy and other gifts. I was going to get a chocolate but decided to do it another time. The staff was very nice and helpful. A+ experience. Coffee and Godiva Chocolate HEAVEN. This hole in the wall is nicely tucked in between a few shops in a small plaza, hardly noticeable unless you take the time to glance around. They have a wide assortment of various coffee beans with different flavors such as snickerdoodle or macchiato, either sold by the pound or by the cup of coffee prepared however you like it. They also feature an assortment of Godiva chocolate, anywhere from your standard pieces to different flavored ones. Stopped for birthday coffee and a scone with a friend. Jennifer is always THE BEST. She even opened the door early for us. It opens at 8 a.m. (Google says 7:30. Google is wrong!) I usually just go to McDonald's for my coffee but my friend forced me to go here yesterday. I thought it was going to be stupid expensive but they arent expensive at all. The cappuccino is soooo good. It has a strong coffee taste and lots of foam. But great coffee + chocolates is my favorite combo and this place has both. The coffee was so good that I just let the lady (I think she was the owner but I don't know) bring me whatever chocolates she thought I'd like. This business is NOT closed and in fact is my favorite coffee place in town! They have probably 20 different types of coffee beans (with their most popular flavor being snickerdoodle - it's amazing), plus maybe 10 different types of teas, and other chocolates, fudge, and gift type things you can buy. The people here are really sweet and will help you sample anything as well as pick out what coffee is best for you. There is solid WiFi and a few tables where you can sit and do work for hours. We even asked about camping out to do work for a while and the business owner was very kind and said that that was fine. Bonus: they now serve some BOMB cupcakes! After living in ELP for a year I finally found this place. Great coffee, though I wish they would upgrade to Monin syrups. They make a lovely latte with raw sugar!! Did I mention that they have a chocolate counter where you can buy GODIVA chocolate by the piece!!!! Great little gift shop too. The Coffee Emporium is a family owned coffee shop that has apparently been open more than 30 years. But its definitely much more than that. In addition to its great coffee and teas, the Coffee Emporium offers a variety of candies/chocolates, French presses, hummus dishware, specialty tea pots, and other random odds and ends. Its the kind of place my mom would love. But hey I guess I'm getting older cause I think its cool too. There is a little area to drink coffee but this really isn't the kind of coffee shop you go to hunker down and study or read a book. Its one where you buy your fresh coffee beans (which they will happily grind for you), look at the neat little things they are selling, and have a friendly convo with the owner who takes a genuine interest in you and your business. I went there this afternoon with buying a coffee maker in mind. The two ladies there were very friendly and helpful and in about ten minutes I had chosen what I thought would be the perfect coffee brewer for my taste and needs. I bought a chemex coffee brewer. The lovely ladies helped me choose the right coffee, accessories and filters. Next week I'm going back to sample the tasty looking treats they have. Pumpkin fudge? I HAVE to try that!
