Decent place amongst several similar places but this one has really decent food - and many vegetarian options. However, don't expect service-with-smile as this place is quintessential laconic! However, don' take it personally as I have been travelling to Prague since 2005 - and the overall customer-friendliness is on its way down since Czech Republic joined the EU. I wanted a quick bite so went for their "pizza sandwich' with corn - not too shabby for cafe food. Indeed, their cakes are great and highly recommended. Nothing fancy, but one of the better cafe and not as much of a tourist-trap.

Meh is exactly what I think when I think of this place. Service wise, quality wise, even their wifi. It seemed right upon entering they already lost me by allowing the people in front to smoke and leave the door open letting all the heat out. So wasteful. The it was very overcrowded with tourists and czechs alike who are all crammed together like sardines- not my idea of a cozy cafe in the afternoon. At least the decoration saved me liking some of the non smokey interior, because in the back they have bookcases which are nice/decorated and some comfy chairs with small tables. Problem is though groups come in here of about 4-8 and stuff themselves into smaller tables that they do not fit at, this causes also crowding in the back room where is it smoke free. Their cakes and pastries on display do not really look nice, they look more plastic and unappetizing, as this is what I would have gotten before settling for a cafe latte all by itself. Staff here is also very blah, not very friendly or helpful, I asked for the wifi password three times before I got it, and it didn't even work. When I finally bothered to ask again we got it to 'work' but the signal is so weak you cannot even check in on yelp with it, It constantly gives you an error. When I was here a girl was stuck in the one ladies bathroom stall and couldn't get out because of the way the door was made...a maintenence guy had to break open the door...what a sight to see.... Overall this place was a hot mess and I would not go back here. High prices, fabricated atmosphere and too crammed to ever be 5 stars.

Berry yoghurt pastry with veggie sandwich.

Very filling veggie sandwich and the selection of pastries is exotic. Unfortunately, I could only try one (berry yoghurt) and it was better than expected. The place is tucked away in this gateway building in old town so it is easy to miss it. But do stop by for a cup of coffee or pastry or sandwich, this cafe is not expensive at all.

Pleasant drop-in for an afternoon break from wandering around Staroměstské Náměste (Old Town Prague). This haunt, although named "Coffee Lovers" is often coined "Caffé Milani" by locals due to their aptly adorned coffee mugs. However, don't be confused as there is a 'Café Milani' also located near Old Town. The latter bearing little similarity to Coffee Lovers. The staff here are occasionally referred to as abrupt. However, you get in return what you dish out; If you're pleasant to them, they'll take great care of you. Amongst the delectable selection of baked goods and freshly prepared Panini, there's an equally terrific selection from the coffee & tea bar. And then there's gelato. Word of caution to first time visitors, order & pay for what you desire before finding a seat. Once this formality is behind you, find a seat, sit back and relax.

I like it here its cute and nice.

Coffee and desserts are good but they ruin it by allowing smoke from the outside to come in from rude smokers.

This is a great spot, and I wish we had a hard time to go back for lunch or dinner. If you are coming to prague, this might be a place you want to put on your list. Rather than look at the menu, I made my decision by viewing the desserts. For an unknown reason, rather than being placed upfront, the tiramisu was placed behind a box of pralines. I do not recall the last time I was served tiramisu in a dish. In between two layers of the mascarpone were the ladyfingers. The bitter cocoa complemented the overall sweetness. I was amused, and slightly caught off guard, with the vending machine in the men's restroom dispensing cologne. None of the other restaurants I visited in the city had one.

My mom and I ordered bottled sparkling water and were surprised when it was served warm (not just room temperature but actually warm). When we asked if we could get cold water instead, we were told that they didn't have any cold water available due to the heat. This wasn't mentioned when we ordered. We were offered a small cup of ice, but there wasn't nearly enough to cool the whole bottle. The waiter didn't apologize and came across as quite rude and annoyed with us. She also never offered more ice, even though it was clear the amount we got wasn't enough. I understand that things happen, but a simple apology and a better attitude would have gone a long way. It's a shame because the food was good, but the service made the visit much less enjoyable.

We had just tap water and I ordered the scrambled eggs with a hot dog bun and salad. The lovely K had the Turkish eggs and toast with lovely fresh dill on top. Both were excellent and a fair sized portion. The poached eggs and the scrambled eggs were spot on. My salad was also excellent with a dressing I'd like to replicate at home. The service was prompt, and friendly, and the food came out quick in spite of how busy they were. I can't say much about the ambiance as we were outside, but the chairs were comfortable and blankets were also available if you felt the need to bundle up. We would most certainly return!

We all started off with drinks - I'm not a wine person, but the prosecco was delicious and a great wine. While I typically would subtract a star for slow service, as we had some issues with people receiving drinks and appetizers, we were a large group with only a couple members of the waitstaff taking care of us. Overall, I found them very effective. For the entrees, we were given the duck confit. WOW! So so good. It was tender and perfectly cooked, and served with pickled cabbage that complemented it perfectly. It also came with a few potato dumplings which in general are a bit heavy so I didn't finish those. We ended the night with a dessert selection where I along with most of my cohort went with the Misa dessert, a whipped cream-sponge cake filling surrounded by hardened chocolate. It was delicious, but quite rich and I struggled to finish. So, so good though. The rich history of the restaurant is also absolutely fascinating and I'll recommend this restaurant!

I knew I had to go. I ran there from our hotel and felt very safe. It's near the water so the view is good, even in Winter! Walk on the bridge after you eat or drink, great place to think. I loved the live music--the pianist was so fun to watch and listen to. He played "My Heart will Go On" from the Titanic and I was in heaven! Love the decor and the art. I ordered an espresso and the pear crepe, and everything was very good. I did feel awkward eating alone here for some reason--the service seemed a bit weird about it? I took out my notebook and Kindle. Maybe they thought I was taking up a table from a party of two on a Saturday night? Anyways, would recommend coming here if you're in Prague. Feels fancy and a bit like you stepped back in time.
