When I went into this business I asked what their specials were and they said if you pay for 3 months, you get a month for free. I paid my 3 months and moved all of our things in. FIRST ISSUE: During the move-in I noticed the gate was broken and was in the up position. I stopped in and asked when that would be fixed and they said it would take a week for it to be fixed. A month later it was still broken,as the owner doesn't want to put the money in to fix it correctly. SECOND ISSUE: I work away from home, so during the last month of my first three months I paid and the month I got for free, I receive a letter saying my unit is going to eviction status for lack of payment. I called the manager and she said the lady that made the offer no longer worked for them and that they wouldn't honor the offer. Even though it was on my contract I had to argue with her that wasn't my problem and after going back and forth she finally gave me that month for free but couldn't do it right then because the owner was standing right there and didn't want to honor the offer. She had to go behind the owner's back to credit me the month storage. THIRD ISSUE: I asked them what deal they would make me if I paid a years worth of storage upfront and they said I would receive nothing. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!?? FOURTH ISSUE: A 10x20 unit they charge me $133.00 per month. This is the highest rental rate in the Montgomery County. FIFTH ISSUE: I went in last week and asked them when my rental needs paid as I have been paying 3 months at a time, they said I wouldn't need to pay for another month. I asked if I moved my things out if they would credit my card back the money I have already paid them in advance. They said they wouldn't. I asked if that policy was in my contract and they said it wasn't. I asked how they can then enforce that policy and they said tough, deal with it. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE. THE OWNER DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS AND RIPS OFF HER CUSTOMERS.SHE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HERSELF!!. SIXTH ISSUE: The gate out front got fixed last week, 5 months later. The record on video but don't check them until the next day if at all,so plenty of time for someone to walk right in a bolt cut your lock and steal your possessions. I went to B and H storage in Clayton and the offered me (2) 10 x 15 units for 131.00 a month together. That's 100 sq. ft. more than the one unit at Englewood Storage and less money, or the offered me a 10x40 unit for 137.00 a month. These units are brand new looking and the gate works all the time. Icing on the cake!!.

I have discovered several items were missing from my storage unit (TVs, boots, a kitchen aid mixer, a blue tooth speaker.) There was no signs of a break in. My lock was in tact. I have given no one access to my storage unit. I made a police report. I asked the man that works at the front desk for an insurance claim. I've messaged SOA on their website and have called several times. I never received a call back or an email. When I went to the storage place I was told I need to talk to the manager, who is conveniently never there. I was also told they could not give me a number to call the manager. There is a paper with info about the Tenant Protection Plan and the cost, but no contact information is on it at all. I am highly upset and feel like they could care less about my claim or items that are missing and I think the Tenant Protection plan they offer but claim is through another company is bogus. I'm also convinced that an employee is responsible for the theft of my items. especially since there was no signs of the lock being broken in. The tops of the unit are only covered by netting. I'm not sure how someone got onto my unit, but they did.

    I experienced the worst move ever with this company. Also, they have refused, short of a lawsuit,…read moreto resolve the issues that resulted in my rating. We moved on March 9, 2022. During the move floors were unprotected and gouged and scratched and walls were also scratched and gouged. A 3 piece wall unit was ripped apart without the connecting bolts removed. In addition, 2 of the 6 glass doors were broken. A dryer and freezer were both damaged and the freezer stopped working. Parts were left anywhere. For example, 2 futons were taken apart. At the new house futon parts were found in the garage, some in the kitchen and others in the basement. Shelves to a bookcase were not found. Trash was left behind in our yard after they left. This is not a comprehensive list, just the major highlights. I filed a claim, and almost 4 months later here are the results. The damages to floors and walls cost over $1600 to fix. They offer $0 to repair. The bookcase cost $1100 30 years ago, and $7000 to replicate. They offer $850. The freezer reimbursement offer was $60. I elected $10,000 insurance, but you see the results of my claim submission. Here is Moving Ahead's last reply to me: If you still do not find our current offer to be acceptable, the next step would be to begin the arbitration procedure, as outlined in the documentation you have already received.
