Steve isn't a competent CPA, at least if you need him for business financials vs. simple personal taxes. He's also miserably unresponsive and can't even figure out how to reply all to an email--he's just out of touch with the business world. (Maybe his thing is personal taxes with older people that don't use email or expect calls to be returned in a timely manner...) It's as simple as: he didn't (and has refused to) provide us with Excel documents of the financials--he gave us PDFs, completely useless. That said we paid him $3k for a project he failed to perform completely and satisfactorily. Learn from our mistake -- we now have to find another CPA and pay him or her more to finish the job. He said he had done the work before and yet he didn't do the job we asked him for and it was basic--there was an outline provided by the relevant government agency that he failed to follow/satisfy. He simply wasn't up for the task and was so off the mark it makes his representations re: doing similar work before appear fraudulent. When we pointed out the deficiencies, at first he agreed to correct them and acted like he was working on it. Despite knowing that time was of the essence, he didn't respond to any of our inquires re: the status of the project for the better part of a week--and then finally when he responded, he insisted that we were asking for new work that would require more money and he said that while he had already performed the work (bullsh*t) he wouldn't give it to us because he didn't like how demanding my business partner had become. --I'm only being a little hyperbolic when I say that he did more work on the email asserting his falsified version of events than he did on the financials, clearly preparing a rebuttal for the Better Business Bureau/Board of Accountancy complaint/suit we told him we intend to file. Keep looking. He's unprofessional/uncommunicative. I don't trust him. He's a cheat and a bum. read more

John Rader has been doing my business & personal taxes since 1995. John has been the most professional, competent and personable CPA's I've ever interacted with. I can see absolutely no way you could go wrong entrusting John with your financial dealings. His advice has always been spot on, and I never, ever had an audit. Natalie has been with them as long as I can remember and they could not have a better person for the "face" of the office. John Rader was my CPA for the past five years. I trusted him and referred him to many others. I am very conservative with my taxes and they are not very complicated. Within the last year I have been contacted by the IRS on two occasions for mistakes he made on my taxes from years back. Now I'm paying penalties and have a huge tax bill to pay. Additionally, I have asked him to resolve the mistakes (which he admitted to). His resolutions have been declined by the IRS each time. Just a warning, he may not have always been on his game, and you might want to have a professional review your taxes from previous years. My apologies to anyone I referred to him. read more
