Avoid like the plague. I was a new patient who was looking for a new dentist. I went in and was looked at for about 10 minutes and then given a referral for another oral surgeon for a root canal. It was very rushed and I felt like I was pushed out the door. When I went to the surgeon they advised me that it was likely I needed 2 different root canals and that I should have a real consultation with the Dentist. The oral surgeon candidly said that this was common with this office. Very assembly line like. So I go back to the Cohasset Dental and they have a plan costing 10K+ in place which the Dentist goes over in about 3 minutes. I left very confused and I felt as though my questions were an annoyance. It was clear that this was just a way to get in my pocket as much as possible. Reluctantly, I set an appointment anyways for a month later to start the process. That day I get a call from the office asking to move my appointment to a later time. This is in the middle of the day on a work day and something I was unable to do. They considered this me cancelling an appointment apparently because I could not adjust my schedule for them. I rescheduled for weeks later and when that day came I was stricken by a very nasty flu which they receptionist said was very evident to hear over the phone. Apparently this did not matter to the dentist as the Office called me back and said the Dentist needed to charge me a $50 cancellation fee. Really lousy policy especially considering the fact that they tried to reschedule me the day of on my last appointment. Time to find another dentist and I would suggest looking for another option for anyone who does not wish to be just another line on the balance sheet for this profit center. read more

Today, I saw Lisa for a cleaning. I was also being seen for pain I was having with one of my teeth. Not only was Lisa amazingly friendly, professional and knowledgable - her assessment of why I was experiencing pain in my tooth was right on point and validated by Dr. Thomas - so appreciate the great experience at Cohasset Dental! I recently had a crown done at Cohasset Dental from the time I sat in the chair I felt comfortable with what I first thought would be a 2 visit experience, when I was told this would be done today no need for a return visit, even better, Dr Chenette designed the crown chair side for me to see, I was amazed at the outcome, looks great with my other teeth and the fit is perfect. Professional and Informative - Instilled confidence. I moved to the area about 2 years ago and havent seen a dentist since. Had some minor discomfort and needed to establish a relationship with someone local. I was very hesitant when searching. After having my first visit, I would recommend these guys to anyone looking for a dentist. Friendly front desk. No wait - my appointment time was my appointment time. (this is huge for me with medical type offices) During the visit I found Dr. Chenette to be very affable, professional and willing to take the time to explain everything very thoroughly. I went to this practice looking to get a second opinion on costs involved for some cosmetic work that was needed. I had a dentist already and feared that his costs were higher than average and was ready to transition my care if my concerns proved to be correct. I booked an appointment for them to look at my teeth and they told me that they'd need to see my xrays prior to knowing what costs would be involved. I had my dentist send them over and was told that they needed another hour in the dentists chair to make their decision. I was unable to get even an estimate on costs without a meaningful commitment of time and shared that I was surprised by this and asked if I could even get a rough idea of costs involved prior to moving forward. Dr. Chenette has been caring for my family for years and we have always had an amazing experience. Just this past week, my son broke his two front teeth. I thought his smile was ruined for life. Updated review in response to Dr. Chennette: 1. I was a customer 2. I did not authorize you to review my medical records to verify Yelp reviews 3. Threatening legal action for a bad review is silly 4. Interesting how all negative reviews are marked as "not customers" and "slander" 5. My advice is focus on fixing problems and helping your customers I didn't have a good experience. All the receptionists I have spoken to seem to hate their jobs, and are not friendly. Getting questions answered on insurance coverage was painful. They acted like it was my privilege to be served by them. When I got my teeth cleaned, I was not given fluoride, and the polish was skipped. It was done so quickly, and areas of my teeth werent even touched. The cleaning itself was not gentle at all and he only smiled when my gums were bleeding and I was moaning in pain. When I asked why I wasn't getting a full cleaning, he told me that "insurance doesnt cover it." I offered to pay extra to have it provided but he said that I "needed to talk to my insurance company"..! The only positive notes of my visit were the nice location, cleanliness and the modern office, negatives were how I was treated and the actual dental care. This place is to be avoided. read more

This dentist needs to polish up on skills and behavior. My old dentist sold his practice to a dentist in hanover that I went to see until office renovations were underway .to my surprise i saw a dentist I knew to be from cohasset he.told me he would take my records to his practice in cohasset and he did things seemed ok for a bit until he talked me into removing a perfectly good crown to do a root canal. Then replace with new crown .after his assistant removed the wrong crown and put back they removed the other one to work on well after a few minutes of drilling I was sat up and told I needed to have it extracted this was more than upsetting since this tooth had zero pain or discomfort I decided not to go to oral surgeon they recommended instead I went to Artistic Dentistry in Hanover. In 2 visits my root canal and crown got taken care and has been great ever since .Pretty upsetting as the only reason cohasset dental wanted to try root canal and new crown was they new my insurance would cover it .well I refused to pay bill and they sent me to collection that I also refused to pay .now on my credit report only negative thing on the in 28 years .The worste of it all my awesome dentist that sold his practice to the hanover dental group got sued because most of the clients were skimmed and redirected by dentist that was hired to work for them Pretty poor business ethics. I love this office. I visited many offices before finding this gem. Dr. Chenette and his staff are awesome. They make me feel welcome and calm my nerves the second I walk in the door. I have had dental emergencies and they were able to see me right away. I couldn't ask for better service. read more

I bring both my sons here. EVERYONE IS AWESOME!! I chose this practice from referrals of MANY friends as well as them being #1 on the south shore! My son asks to go see Dr. Pinney even when he isnt sick!! he is SO GREAT with the boys! the nurses are fantastic with distracting them while giving vaccines or taking blood! Front Desk staff is very helpful.. Nurses call back with answers to your questions. sometimes they take a while on occasion when its busy but for the most part usually within the hour i will get a call back and i only call and leave a message when its non emergency! I highly recommend them as on sundays one of their offices is ALWAYS open for sick visits !! and they will always get you in!! just make sure you schedule your physicals in advance, last minute ones may get pushed back cause they are busy! read more
