The Good: -His selection of memorabilia is the best around. From autographed baseballs, jerseys, rare collectibles, even old Sports Illustrated issues... I have yet to find anyone in the Midwest who can match his inventory. -Wes is a nice guy. He knows the industry and is more than willing to help you out. His prices are always fair. -The employees that work with him are equally as knowledgable. That's a rarity in Card Shops. The Not-So-Good: -His store is VERY cramped. He is trying to pack a ton of stuff in a tiny space, and it can be overwhelming. Sometimes, he has stuff on display that is blocking another item, and you don't want to bug him just to see what it is. -Along the same lines, if there is more than 4-5 customers at a time, it can be an uncomfortable experience. Too many people crammed in that shop and you want to leave. -It is hard to get out of. When you try and leave, you can't turn left on 70th Street, and even if you could, the traffic there is terrible and anything other than going right is going to take you a while. There isn't much chance to get around behind the small alleys behind the shops, either. All in all, this is a great place. I have bought wedding gifts, birthday gifts, graduation gifts from him. I have collectibles in my office that were bought from his shop. Sports Card shops provide people with a lot of nostalgia and happy memories. It makes it better when the store is outstanding. They are eager to help, they know a lot about the stones, can show you all kinds of jewelry, or happy, friendly, positive and customer oriented. Just an overall great experience. We didn't know what we were doing & so we asked the lady at this pawn shop to explain. She gave us an attitude the whole time. We asked her when the first interest payment was due she said at the end of the month. Then after everything was signed , she said i have a week before it would be $6 then two weeks it would be $12. everything was all signed so i couldn't get my items back because they have a 48 hour policy. they are scammers & scumbags who want to take advantage of people in need. when we went in we noticed most of their clients were mentally ill, chronically ill, or down on their luck. we went back before the week ended & the guy tried charging me $12. They thought since we were young they would be able to scam us but i was so upset i told him "no the lady right next you told me it would be $6 for a week." & the lady just sat there looking at me blankly and tried to lie. the guy was like well yes you are under the first week mark okay. Then the next incident is that they have a sign that says you can pay the interest off with a card. you can't ! it's always a catch with these people , you can pay off the interest with card if you wait over a month . overall a horrible place with horrible people. they have signs all over saying "however you treat us the better price you get" when they themselves are horrible people who treat non white people rudely. would never ever recommend.

It is a platinum diamond infinity band that was bent into a severe oval when I lifted a heavy box during our move. I was told by the large jeweler that too many prongs were damaged and it would need a new setting- which they offered to sell me. Fast forward a few months- I ended up stopping at Elder Jeweler on a whim. The jeweler listened to my story and while we spoke he was working on my ring. By the time we were done talking he had bent it back into shape. He was basically showing me that the other place was just trying to sell me a setting. He gave me a quote to repair the broken prongs and reset the diamonds. It was very reasonable. They told me it would take a week, however they had it done in just a few days and it was done on the low end of the estimate. I was more than impressed by how new my ring looked! Fast forward 6 months- my daughter has a religious medallion that she wears when she runs. It means a lot to her as she has some health issues and the medallion is blessed. The bail broke this morning and she has a meet tomorrow. I ran it over to Elder. They did not promise that they could repair it. They said they don't normally do same day repairs. The sales associate said she would talk to the jeweler and see what could be done. 5 minutes later I heard him call to the associate and tell her that "the chain will break before the bail fails". He had soldered it shut and it is repaired to new! I am so grateful to have this local shop. They are very trustworthy and do fine quality work! Thank you Elder Jewelry!

Tina was a joy to work with, and I was even able to get the battery replaced in my tiny Seiko watch while we were discussing the plans for my ring. She quoted me about a week for the turnaround time; they had it back to me in five days! The workmanship is seamless, and being able to comfortably wear my ring is worth far more than the (very reasonable) ~$100 it cost. They were even kind enough to give it a good clean before I picked it up!
