    Cathy and her team are phenomenal! Our good friends had worked with Cathy for their wedding at the Avalon in Palm Springs in March 2017. We trust our friends and knew we needed lots of help because we live in SF, so we jumped into working with Cathy very enthusiastically for our April 2019 wedding at the Sands Hotel and Spa in Indian Wells. We benefited tremendously from the fact that the Cathy and Olivia at the Sands had worked together many times, and we felt incredibly taken care of throughout the wedding process. Although Cathy is very busy, she is responsive and very available for questions and advice. Her knowledge of the area is unbelievable, and her recommendations were very valuable. Her staff is amazing, and she even works with her wife who is a sculptor and made us a perfect sign for the photobooth on short notice. Everyone worked so hard to make our weekend go smoothly. We knew where to be and when, they gave us food early so that we wouldn't faint from exhaustion, and offered emotional support during stressful moments. Cathy listens to what you want, has a great eye, is incredibly creative and resourceful, and will help you throw an amazing party.

    We contracted with Cathy in August 2018 for our wedding at The Parker in Palm Springs on 3/2/2019. We are currently based in NYC. Cathy's expertise and knowledge in regards to The Parker, Palm Springs and the vendors who are most suited to an event like ours was invaluable. The event exceeded our expectations. Many of our guests stated that it was the best wedding they have ever attended. Wedding planning can be very stressful, but Cathy made it seem like a breeze for two busy professionals planning an event from 2500 miles away. If you're planning a wedding, especially at The Parker--you cannot go wrong with Cathy and her team at COJ Events.

    Cathy officiated our wedding during COVID.I can't say enough great things about her. We initially met with a variety of officiant's all the different price points, but we really loved the Cathy's warmth, kindness, and experience. My husband and I both work long hours and she was able to meet with us via zoom around our schedules. She provided a variety of resources that really helped us both in the planning and preparation for the wedding. She was willing to get Covid tested and quarantine the week prior for our 10 guest wedding. She both offered a variety of resources without pushing anything which was ideal for our small budget. We were running a bit late the day of and she was accommodating giving us those extra 15 minutes to finish getting ready. On the day of, she was excellent and her delivery so vibrant so positive and adaptive so all of the changes that happened with the unforeseen. We were doing a wedding live stream on Facebook and Kathy was wearing a microphone for us and she did great. My groom needed help with his boutonniere and Cathy helped him. She filed our wedding license the very next day to apply for the certificate. If you're weighing your options and considering who to hire this one is a no brainer. Hire Cathy she's absolutely fabulous.

The bud vases were so sweet and romantic but also affordable. My sister commented they looked vintage chic. I would definitely recommend bud vases instead of traditional floral centerpieces if you aren't looking to spend all of your budget on florals. Alyssa can really make them look beautiful. I think she is just trying to get that part of her business up and running, but she should definitely stay in her lane. So much went wrong, so here goes. Her budget was way off. She did not return calls in a timely manner until it was brought to her attention. Not a big deal? Ah, sadly, there's more. We found out day before the wedding that her computerized version of seating arrangements was "just an approximation." So seating was way off from how we had imagined and we had to make last minute adjustments. She does not know how to run a rehearsal and announced to all that she had never seen a wedding like ours before! (The men walking to the front while bridesmaids walked down alone). This was followed by her lining up all backwards and everyone was trying to tell her it was wrong. So much confusion that the pastor finally took over saying, "Friends, I'm now running this rehearsal." She should've been embarrassed, but she wasn't. The day of the wedding she asked me how to display the table menus - one for each table. I had previously asked her how many frames to bring and she told me. I brought extra, but it wasn't enough. No problem, she said, we can just put the ones without frames up against the centerpieces. How tacky! As guests began to arrive, a friend asked where she could put her wedding gift. When I asked Alyssa, she said that "no one brings gifts to weddings anymore," so there wasn't a place for them. The wedding was to have bubbles on each seat. Not on mine, and I'm the MOB! Didn't get to blow bubbles for my daughter. And others felt the same way. What part of "every seat " is hard to understand? At the reception, wine was to be self-serve on the table and would then be replenished as needed. When I noticed some friends had no wine, her lame excuse was that she thought it would be nice to serve our guests. But those glasses were empty!! There's more but you get the picture. Along the planning way, when asked for lists of what she should be doing and when, her response was that we had no need to worry because it was all in her head. But it clearly was not. We paid a lot for her services. Almost $6000, not including flowers. The day ended up beautiful but because we had to work around her. Such a disappointment. The most disappointing things is when I reached out to her to discuss all of this after the wedding, she took absolutely no responsibility for anything. She actually thinks she did a great job. I'm here to tell you she did not.

Trust me, it happens to even the most saintly. No need to fret, April is there for you! She will listen carefully, ask you all the right questions, follow through promptly and thoroughly. She will be your best friend. This is not an understatement, as my man and I decided to get hitched in a week. I called April two days before (from LA), confused and bewildered on a Saturday! I still can't believe she not only graciously called me back but gladly took up the challenge of our small but very important day. April got us the most amazing photographer, beautiful flowers, a fabulous french resturant to exchange our vows (and to have dinner after). Last but not least, she coordinated the best officiate I could dream of, who through a conversation the night before, gave us a moving and personal ceremony. To top it off, the price for everyone's services was exceptional. I can't sing April's praises enough. If you are considering the Palm Springs or surrounding area for your wedding, check out "The Bride and I" it's a top quality service that stands above and beyond the competition.

While I had gathered everything together, made arrangements with vendors and had a rough timeline, April was the key to pulling everything together. She is calm and collected but also sweet and nice. Plus since I live in LA and didn't know the best local vendors, she was so helpful in the months leading up to the wedding in locking in my hair and makeup team and a few other loose ends. We had a few conference calls, and a walk thru at the venue and she produced a perfect table map and timeline. I instantly felt at ease! She ran our rehearsal so well and on the day of I was able to just relax as she handled decorating and getting everything and everyone where they needed to be. She has an excellent way of keeping everything on track while making you feel totally at ease. After the reception, she and her assistant got everything into the house in a super organized way, making it much easier to pack up the next day. Plus when the police showed up multiple times about a noise complaint she handled it so effortlessly when I asked her about it she said not to worry at all :) Highly recommend her to anyone needing some help on their big day, she's wonderful!
