We were looking to get an oil change and have a tugging sensation looked at before a family road trip for our 2013 GMC Yukon XL. Cokato Motors say they specialize in the repair and sale of mainly Chevy/GMC vehicles,so we decided to take it there. They completed the oil change.Dave and they drove the Yukon and did not feel any tugging sensation.This raised a red flag for me as 4 people besides myself drove it and said they felt the same tugging I felt.I gave the manger Dave a look of confusion...said okay and took my vehicle.Before leaving I was told that there might be an oil leak because there was dried oil by the oil pan.I explained I have never seen a drop of oil anywhere we parked. They could not have test driven our vehicle.When we picked up the vehicle all of the mechanics were just standing around.If you aren't going to do something why say you are going to do it. A month later I end up having a collapsed lifter...coincidence? Im not sure.I just don't trust these guys! read more

Cokato Motors: imo, do not go there if you're concerned about vehicle safety! I had my 2006 Cadillac DTS here (I have another vehicle in Milaca) this is what happened -last December I had L front bearing repaired, pwr steering fixed, I asked for OE parts, bill was $1300 which is fine. -I brought it back @weeks later said i felt the similar thing, Dave had it checked, said it was a warped rotor. -I do not put on many miles, so when I drove it back from MSP after being in Florida MY LEFT WHEEL BROKE FREE, AT 45MPH AT 0130 AND WENT INTO A YARD! -a Wright Cty Deputy brought me home, the tow people took it back to Ckto Motors. -I went down there next AM, they had already started to work on it BEFORE they called me! -I explained, they were responsible and they should fix it, Dave and another mechanic gave me the run around! -time went by, I thought on it, then I retained an attorney at this time. as chance had it, i had the oppurtunity to speak with Garth the owner, he seems sincere. I explained I retained Ferguson Law firm, but I'd rather work it out 'the old fashion way' as I was moving in a month and "it NEEDS TO BE ROAD READY" -he agreed to fix it and paint it where it was damaged, he was open and willing to discuss things on the table; I believe he is a good man, unfortunately overseeing inapt and lazy workers who have little respect for any property not bought "on the lot" -when I picked it up, it literally looked like a toddler pounded the wheel well in place then rattle canned it. the used rim they got (other rim was dc) still had grease pen on it, my rotor which ROAD ON THE TAR FOR IDK HOW FAR, was NOT replaced, and the white paint wasnt a match. I asked the service dept, "ummm is there a reason why you didnt fix my car??" Mousekateer mechanic mngr say, "we did fix it, why whats wrong with it" -I decided to speak with Garth. He said diamond white is a Caddie color (see above for what car I own...) and she is an '06 with high miles etc (all true) and his workers said "its safe to drive, it was checked twice" He agreed they could fix it...again as he wanted me happy. I had to leave sooner than expected well 2-3 things here:, if they werent at fault why did they starting fixing it before they called? OH! the owner didnt even know this had happened until i told him, so his own service dept is compromising his business! -ummm irregarless of the value, its my car/your screw up, either fix it right or pay me -I was driving that Cadillac out of state bc I wanted to buy a WAY NEWER one from Ckto. Motors with my SAVINGS and trailer the Caddie I had fixed. Final thoughts? If youre a "local" who bought off their lot, you will probably receive good service. Anything aside from that, for safety reasons alone i woudnt go there. read more
