We (and our yorkie poo) love Colby's Dogcare & Spa. Going out of town for an evening without our 8-month dog, we scrambled to find a place to board her. Michael at Colby's Dogcare & Spa was super helpful. Within a day, we were bringing our dog for a free five-hour assessment. She passed and the next day she was spending the night. After the assessment, we bought the package of 10 nights for just under $600 total. Drop off is at 7 a.m. and pick up is 7 p.m. the next evening giving you freedom to take longer trips. The space itself is clean and every staff member treated our dog with care. Once you check in, they take your dog off the leash into one of several rooms. We love this spot!

Proceed with caution. I left my pup here for a week stay and he returned with poop matted in his fur and an extremely irritated bottom. My pup is 9-months and fully potty-trained and has NEVER had this happen in the care of any my regular sitters so this just let's me know they didn't take him out properly to use the bathroom over the course of days. I'm extremely disappointed by this lack of care, especially with such a high daily rate. My dog is currently awaiting care so this post will be updated.

Words cannot explain how HAPPY we are with Colby's Dogcare and Spa. On Saturday we took our Arrow to Colby's for a free assessment day. Jamal, the Pupcare Director, gave us a tour; it was wonderful. The knowledge, enthusiasm and genuine care and concern for the health and safety of the pups is evident. Our Arrow is home a lot and needs socialization. This. Is. The. Spot. We immediately signed him up for daily daycare and are not looking back. The entire staff is awesome. Drop Off and Pick Up is seamless. This week, Miranda and Amber, assisted us with scheduling a full groom and apple harvest facial for Arrow. Who knew...a facial for a pup. Let me tell you, Josh was his groomer and he looks great!!!! Oh yeah...he loved the facial. You can tell that the staff enjoy their jobs and look out after the pups. I normally do not write long reviews, but for this, I had to. If you are considering Colby's...GO!!! If you haven't taken your pup to Colby's...take him/her. If you are in the neighborhood and just need to check them out...GO!!!! And lastly, Arrow now has friends and a Doodle Tribe. See pic...Arrow is the one smiling.

Very good day care for dogs. Have full services, though definitely pricier than I would like. They also don't offer any webcams

When we walk home from the dog park and pass the doggy daycare, my dogs are always pulling to go to Colby's.

Initially we checked out the Ridgeside Instagram account and then after contacting them for additional information we decided to sign Flossie up for the 3 week board & train program. We were given our trainer's contact info in case we had any questions or wanted additional info prior to the start date. Gina picked up Flossie and for the next three weeks we got pictures and videos every day of Flossie's training progress plus also information for us to learn about the training. All of this made the transition back home easy and seamless. Gina's instructions were clear and concise and she also made sure that we understood the hows and the whys of training. Since Flossie has been home Gina reached out to see how things were going and said she was available if we had any follow up questions. We are very happy with the outcome and feel the training really firmed up our loosey goosey training up to that point. Gina gave Flossie the foundational training she needed in order for us to meet our goals with Flossie and we couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Pebbles (blue heeler, 1.5 years old) would never listen to me, would not sit or lay still, and had a lot of other obedience issues that caused her to be stressed or confused. She was a TOUGH dog to train and I was concerned I couldn't find the solution for her to get basic concepts. This view has completely changed since working with RSK9's 3 week program. I would HIGHLY recommend them and their methods - you can tell they genuinely love working with dogs and it's made a huge difference in giving my dog the chance to find real rest at home. They send DAILY updates with photos and videos which was so nice. This isn't a regular class or something you just pay for; it's truly an investment that you and your dog will be using for the time you get to share together. Side note: it's worth doing 3 weeks versus 2 weeks. At the 2 week mark is when Pebbles really started to understand her marks and cues. From here there is so much more that can be refined and Brandi/Perry really capitalize on that threshold being crossed!

He had never been to a daycare facility before, at least not since we adopted him. I had my doubts as to whether he would gel with the experience. He's very difficult with people he doesn't know, but generally does alright at dog parks and is fine with professionals like vets and groomers, so I figured with another set of professionals he may be alright after all. And to be completely fair, he WAS difficult. They told me had to be wrapped in a towel for anyone to approach him to remove his leash and took a couple hours to actually socialize with any dogs. This guy has to go in for grooms and vet tech appointments monthly where his leash has to come off and while I have no illusions about him being a difficult dog, he is, this is the first I've honestly ever heard that removing his leash was an issue at all. Considering what followed with his return, and that this is a thing that's never come up before, it's left me wondering how much of it was truly Oliver and how much of it was the staff. When he came back to me he was squirrelly and jumping around with a very thick gauge rope around his neck. As he has severe tracheal collapse, this is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable, as anything that pulls at his neck can exacerbate his condition, or worse, completely cave in his trachea, killing him. The staff member that brought him out admitted she was new here but said that nobody from the AM shift said anything about his severe tracheal collapse, nor was she aware of it being noted in his online profile (it's absolutely a thing I made a note of, along with his medicinal schedule to treat him for this disease). She informed me that he would not be a good fit for their facility. Fair enough. An evaluation is exactly that, and if he doesn't gel I'm not obligated to their services. If that's all it was, I wouldn't be here writing a review. Instead I wanted to offer a warning for any pet owners that may have a dog with severe medical issues or concerns to consider going elsewhere where staff may be more sensitive and attentive and not outright dangerously negligent. That he's not a good fit for Playful Pack, I say the feeling is mutual.
