I stopped by here during a training exercise in a helicopter. It's a country restaurant in the middle of nowhere that will serve you some typical American food. They have a pool table and a little museum inside that shows some history of the Pony Express. The staff is attentive/helpful and the burgers aren't bad. If you're even in the middle of nowhere near Cold Springs, then you're in luck to be near this restaurant. read more

A group of 10 of us stopped here for a bite to eat. The French dip sandwiches had so much meat! Delicious! Chef salad was fresh. They did mess up the orders, though: gave everyone fries, even those that ordered chips or salad. But this is a good place to stop while on The Loneliest Highway. read more

Hauling equipment back from Austin and was hungry, decided to stop in and have a bite! Waitress was fast on the drink order, ordered the club house sandwich with fries! Waitress kept my drink full. It took about 30 mins for the club, which I'm on a tight schedule but when it came out is was really good. Could of had a few more fries in the order. I've passed this place a dozen times, don't know why I never stopped, but had the opportunity to do an RV stay and here we are. Dinners are large portions with great food. This is our second dinner here on a three-night stay! First night the meatloaf special and tuna melt were tasty and plenty big so we had the leftovers for dinner the next night. Tonight is the cube steak and wifey got a chef salad. Again the food was fresh and flavorful. But the other draw here is the service...JoJanna and Emily make the meals even better with their fun banter and colorful and historic stories. We will be back. read more

I just stayed here for the weekend to get some much needed R & R. I like this place, for many reasons. The location is awesome if you truly seek to get away from it all. I stayed in a motel room. It was clean and worth the money. The restaurant was in the main building, and the food and service were good. There are so many neat areas to explore around here if you're an off-roader. Or, just stay and relax. They have interesting mementoes in the main building reflecting the surrounding history (Pony Express, etc). The bar is well stocked and spacious. The owners are warm and accomodating, and one feels welcome. I definitely recommend. read more

One of our favorite places to be. Either as a destination with the RV for taking the four-wheelers up into the mountains, or just passing through on Hwy 50 and needing a bite to eat. Best people great and great for camping always stop here for a snack! Camped here for 2 weeks and loved it... kid worked around the place and got 600 dollars!!! They can put you to work if you want AND give you free electricity and water (it's around 350 to stay here because if free stuff) great food also has a great selection of alcohol in there bar! On our way home from Ely, NV stopped here for an excellent Pony Express burger and fun chat with the owner! My husband had a lovely patty melt! As an added bonus we got to see the F18s fly by from the Fallon Air Base! So glad we stopped here! Highly recommended! read more

This place is fun and the food is amazing! Chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy is the best I've ever had. My husband had a club sandwich and it was delicious. Everyone in the restaurant and bar are friendly - including customers, employees and owners. We stayed over night in the RV park and it was very quiet. Only negative was we had problems hooking up our sewer. Other than that, we will be back for sure!! read more

This is a hidden Gem! Very small RV Park, with breathtaking views. Fully equipped with both 30 and 50 Amps. The place is very clean, cafe has real tasty food, fully stocked bar (which we needed after being on the road hauling a 40 FT.) Best part of the place is the owners and staff! Everyone had a great sense of humor and they made everyone in the place feel at home. Pulled in at closing time on a Tuesday night. My wife and I were heading West, stopping at Eureka and then Austin first which both are currently full of Geothermal miners taking up all the vacancies. No offense to the miners, we just really should have planned ahead. Anyways, as we pulled up, the owners were just settling in after closing up shop on the front deck. They welcomed us with open arms and even made a couple of drinks for us and we kicked back and chatted on the deck. Perfect ending to a long day of driving from Grand Junction. The rooms are of course not luxurious, but they are clean and comfy. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling on Highway 50 in Central Nevada. If one wants to stay more than one night there is plenty of hunting, hiking, and ATV trails to be enjoyed by all. Five stars. Maximum stars! read more

An oasis in the middle of nowhere. We ate breakfast one morning & my husband had a great omelette. I did not care for the chicken fried steak, it was flat & tasteless. The sausage gravy could use more flavor. Today I shared a cold ham & cheese with my husband. It was very good & I enjoyed the macaroni salad. I got a Cobb Salad for our evening meal & it looks awesome. I picked up chicken nuggets for our dog & she really liked them. read more

Pulled in at 8 pm, closing time on a Monday night just ahead of a snow storm. The owner made a great margarita. Despite the late hour, he whipped us some roast beef sandwiches and even asked for my husband's opinion on a newly stocked beer. The restaurant/bar/store was equipt with a pool table. The place not only had a wonderful pull through drive way and big rig parking (also easy for our quite large travel trailer to navigate) but a small motel and several camping sites with full hookups. Finish that up with an extra clean bath house and we have a winner! read more

We slept very well. We arrived late and the kitchen was closed. The cook made a couple of turkey sandwiches and we enjoyed the company of their family while we ate. I'm not sure if we'll be back this way anytime soon, but would go out of our way to stop by again. Good food, safe place and great people. read more

Was here about 3 weeks ago. Been here 5 times and i must say its different than it used to be. Seen the previous owners and the new. The food is the same. Pretty good.Clean place seeing how one of their employees never stops . She takes care of the patrons as well as making sure the place is nice and clean. But since the new owners took over the prices have gone up 2 to 3 times. And the portions are smaller. Didnt quite understand that until i had dinner there a couple nights. I would suppose that the prices have to be higher just to cover what the new owners alcohol intake is. Slurring drunk both times. Not a way for an owner to portray himself. Very un -professional. Too bad too, since its in the middle of nowhere. read more

Stayed here Oct 14 to 16 2016 and I was pleasantly surprised. First of all I went to meet up with a group to go off roading that were staying in the RV camping area that they have. My wife and I opted for the cozy motel rooms they have available (very clean). We had dinner twice and had breakfast twice in the diner. The food was like having a home cooked meal and was great! The service was great and everyone was very friendly. They also have a bar with a pool table and a small store. read more

Well I was disappointed. We had staved off eating because we saw this place had good reviews. I ordered Chef Salad. It came without an egg which I enjoy and I asked our waitress who said they had run out. If I had known that ahead of time I might have ordered something different. Additionally I had a bad piece of lettuce in mine. :-(. My husband ordered a burger and he said it was very good but waitress didn't bring him ketchup for his fries so I had to go get from her. I asked for water from this same waitress( younger with long hair) and later on another older gal asked us if we wanted another beer and I said I was still waiting for my water! The place had one other couple so it was not busy! My husband left a tip but I didn't think our waitress deserved it. read more

My husband , 91 year old grandmother , my aunt and myself stopped in to grab munchies and drinks on our way to Fallon and had a very embarrassing and horrible experience in the store. My husband was followed in the trest room by employee named Leon and when Leon was checking out my husband, my husband turned to the side. My husband finished up in the rest room and came out to get munchies with the rest of us. Leon proceeded to announced to the entire store and bar that we had to leave immediately because he saw my husband doing drugs in the bathroom and that he had already notified the authorities. He also got very aggressive with my husband and instead of knocking him on his ass, he tried to talk to the guy because he didn't understand what was going on. Needless to say we left not wanting to upset my grandmother. I called the owner and completely got the run around about how there was a problem there the night before and that was the reason that we were treated this way. MY HUSBAND DOES NOT DO DRUGS AND THE FACT THAT THIS EMPLOYEE ACCUSED HIM OF IT almost makes me want to hire a lawyer. We will never step foot in this store again and if you choose to.. you better watch out for Leon. They let this completely disrespectful employee falsely accuse you of what ever he likes. The thing that makes even less sense is the owner said that he knew who we were. We live in Austin and stop in on the way to Fallon almost every time and he still condoned what his employee did and was rude to my husband. His excuse for treating us like that was something happened the night before. That is not a way to run a business. If I could give them a negative score I would. read more
