Shortbread, cookie sandwiches with sweet filling, biscotti, cheesecake, cookies and more. I sipped a flavored green tea refresher, but coffees are available. The owner-baker has an eye for detail- with their baked assortment as well as the shop. It's clean and tidy, places to sit, with plenty of visual and tasty appeal. Note the hours of operation, regulars stream in, and kids could squeal with delight, or that might have been me! Excellence on every level- service, product, and ambiance-decor! Plan to stop here soon! Very easy off Beltline- River Rd.

The owner/baker(?) was so SO friendly and welcoming and it made the whole experience so personalized. We enjoyed our coffee, a cinnamon roll and orange glazed cinnamon in the adorable room in the back of the "house" and honestly could've stayed all day! Everything was delicious but I LOVED the orange roll! Took some cupcakes- a lemon/raspberry and raspberry vanilla, another orange roll and a blueberry oatmeal sandwich cookie with maple buttercream frosting home for my dad's birthday. Again, all were decadent and delicious but I wish I still lived in town because I would be getting that raspberry/lemon cupcake WAY more often than necessary. My body thanks me but my taste buds are BUMMED! I can't wait to come back to town because I'll be going straight back to this fun spot!

The earthquake cake was fabulous; it was not a soft cake, it was very dense and full of rich chocolate, cream cheese and chocolate chips . It was extremely filling. The two women who helped us were very polite and very patient as we took forever to choose from their delicious options. They had a massive selection of treats. A true sweet-treat paradise. The ambiance reminds me of the old candy shops I would go to on the Oregon coast, which brought back fond memories. It would be helpful if, instead of a large sign that said 'bakery,' it had the business name. Nonetheless, this place was great, and we will definitely be back.

There's no wrong decisions. I had made my mind up as soon as I saw the selections in the case: one of everything. Problem with that is... there's a lot to choose from. And worse than that? I went there in pumpkin season. How am I supposed to decide when there is a selection, and then next to it was the pumpkin version of it. (Except pig in a blanket, but maybe next year? Maybe they were sold out??) So yeah, everything in there looks fantastic but I can't have one of everything (I could, but like I said before, that would check the box next to deceased for me). I got a "slice" of coffee cake. And a cupcake. I had to eat the cupcake on my walk back to the lovely hotel up the road so that my wife would think I was reasonable and only got coffee cake. My wife doesn't like pumpkin stuff the way I do, and buddy, she loved this pumpkin coffee cake. Great place, heat a room near the beach and walk over here, amazing little shop with a feel like a deli you'd see in a movie but it's a bakery. As I left I heard a voice from further back in the kitchen thank me for coming in and I knew that voice came from the grim reaper... Maybe next time, pal

The staff was prompt in responses and provided a full menu I could pre order from (though my order was small enough that it wasn't required). I ended up picking up my cupcakes a few hours early and to my surprise they were ready! The cupcakes themselves were wonderful. Not these huge cupcakes that you see other speciality cupcake bakeries creating. These were classic size with wonderful flavors, some even completely reimagined. When I arrived for pick up I saw they had a new, special flavor- S'mores. I had to grab one of those too and I'm glad I did as it was the best cupcake of the assortment which a nice marshmallow surprise in the middle of the cupcake! Oh man, definitely worth the drive and worth the costs. I'd highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area. Luckily the shop is in a pretty nice area of Salem so you could even make a few hours of it and check out some of the other shops in the area.

I always enjoy my latte here. I've also tried out their sweet and creamy cold brew (a little too sweet but as a treat it was great!) and their cortado which are both solid. My go to dish is usually the acai bowl. Plenty of textures, flavors, and a good amount of sour and sweet that makes it's perfectly balanced. The only downside is that the spoons that are provided are a little big for the bowl that you are given, so you are bound to spill a little bit. The Mexican bowl is okay, but not quite my personal preference since there is more of a curry taste to it. Overall come and give Bodhi a try!

Though busy on a Wednesday afternoon (it was the day before Thanksgiving after all), we found a table and had a great meal. I loved my latte and biscuits and gravy! Everything was tastefully presented and had wonderful flavors. The portion sizes aren't too big, so don't expect a huge meal. I found the biscuits and gravy to be filling for a brunch, but someone with a bigger appetite might want to opt for something more substantial. The staff did a great job getting many orders out in a fairly short amount of time, and based on my meal, they weren't sacrificing quality in the process. The cafe norms are pretty standard for a seat-yourself cafe where you order at the counter, pick up your food at the counter, and bus your own table. I found Bodhi Cafe and Bakery to be exactly what I needed, and look forward to returning.
