I love Cold Stone Creamery! The ice cream is super creamy, and I love that they have a ton of mix ins to choose from. The brownies they use for the mix ins are very good! They are actually homemade brownies, and they chop them up in front of you. You can go with one of their signature creations or you can create your own creation like I did today. I had the cheesecake ice cream mixed with peanut butter, cookie dough, and brownies. It was delicious! The cheesecake, cake batter, and fudge brownie batter ice cream are my favorite flavors here. The only reason why I'm not giving this location 5 stars is because today there were out of a bunch flavors! I was disappointed that they were out of the flavor I came in here for fudge brownie batter. Today, the cookie dough mix in I could barely taste because the girl over chopped it. This location shout out to the entire crew but esp Denise the GM who always goes above and beyond. This wasnt the first time she made an amazing cake for me. My order wasnt easy as there are ALL nut allergies as well as egg allergy in my family. She made sure that there was no cross contamination of any items of eggs or nuts. The staff was friendly and accommodating building the cake I ordered. So my less than perfect review is really about the ingredients of the cake, and not a reflection of the store, or its staff. The cake was constructed of multiple layers of sponge, so there is actually very little ice cream in the cake. I had always presumed that CSC ice cream cost a premium because it was natural and high end. Once I read the ingredients on the quart, I realized that's it's no better than Carvel, or Baskin Robins. Nice small ice cream shop in Marlboro NJ. Store is small, has the usual wacky flavors that you don't normally see at a regular ice cream shop. The staff is friendly, and had a nice attitude, when I told them what I wanted. I got cookie dough ice cream, which doesn't sound too crazy, but pretty much everything else that they have isn't flavors you would normally see at ice cream shops. It tasted nothing like cookie dough, tasted like a sweet cheesecake. I was hungry, so I didn't bother to ask to change. So, this was a huge disappointment. My mom had ordered two ice cream cakes two days ago at this particular location and went to pick them up late afternoon today. As we were walking out of the store, with our cakes boxed and bagged, the girl who helped us stopped us and handed us $3 for 'forgetting to put chocolate ganache between the layers of one cake'. Now, we were not told that they had forgotten when they pulled out the cakes. Had they told us then, and perhaps apologised, it would not have been an issue. We understand that things like this happen, and it really wasn't a big deal. However, I had called and asked to speak with the manager to make him aware that it had happened and the reply I received was completely unprofessional. He was rude, and told us that 'it happens, its a holiday weekend, what do you want me to do about it'. I have no intention of getting anything out of the phone call, except to make them aware that it had happened so it wouldn't in the future. Yet he was extremely defensive and not once did he apologise. I deal with customers on a daily basis as well, and I would never fathom to even speak to customers the way he spoke to me. Never had a problem with this location, until last night. Ordered two ice cream cups and midway through lady realized she had mixed up the size of the cup I had ordered, no problem. Paid for the ice cream and lady kept checking to see if I left her a tip on the receipt, which I found to be very unprofessional. Later on, she bagged our ice cream to go and I looked into the bag to realize the signature flavor I ordered was a completely different flavor (ordered apple pie a la coldstone, and got a completely different creation). This Cold Stone is great. Not very crowded usually and always extremely clean. There's indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of parking. Employees are always polite and professional but occasionally don't look thrilled to be there, but they're teenagers, so that's to be expected. They also don't sing when you tip them. Oh well. I've only tried their ice cream and their ice cream cupcakes, but both have always been delicious. The ice cream is creamy and doesn't have freezer burn, unlike the Baskin Robbins near me. I usually get a Signature Creation - I've tried almost all of them and have never been disappointed. I think the superior quality is worth the slightly higher price of other local ice cream places. A small ("Like It") is about $5.00, and the cup looks tiny, but believe me, it's satisfying. It's not as good as Haagen Daz, but it's better than everything else around here. There's also lots of variety, including candy apples, chocolates, shakes, and ice cream cakes/pies. Recommended: Mud Pie Mojo, Peanut Butter Cup Perfection, German Chocolate Cake, Cookie Mintster Not Recommended: the seasonal pumpkin ice cream, the blue favor Pistachio is okay but doesn't taste how pistachio ice cream should taste. read more
