Finally had a chance to try ColdStone Creamery, and to say it was a letdown would be an understatement!. I was really looking forward to giving this place a shot... As soon as we walked in, we weren't greeted. But even worse, was the awkward look we received from "the girl with the long black hair" when watching her mix ingredients on the cold stone. A simple smile goes a long way! Instead she looked bothered. We don't mind spending $20 on ice cream, but this just wasn't what we expected, the chocolate dipped waffle cone was so stale, my grandma couldn't take a bite! And the 2 cookies used to mix our $8 "Cookies make everything Batter" was definitely lackluster. Sorry ColdStone, visit Tongue & Cheek & you will see what fresh ice cream is supposed to taste like...

I ended up choosing the traditional vanilla tart flavor. You also had the ability to have a swirl of two flavors as well. Check out and service was quick and friendly with plenty of space for people to sit. There was ample space to park outside as well. We will definitely be back to create more delicious treats.

Flavors are arranged in nice pairings that you can choose to swirl together if you wish. There's a salad bar of toppings at the end which includes fruits, cereals and candies to add a little sweetness and crunch to your creation. My only caveat is make sure your eyes aren't bigger than your stomach... all those flavors and toppings add up and it can get a little pricey. Everything is served with a sturdy plastic spoon... most folks toss them after, but I like to keep mine as a little souvenir. There are a good number of tables and cafe chairs inside, I've never had trouble finding a seat. This is a family friendly place with lots of kids enjoying a cold treat.

We ordered the Ube Tres Leches and Mango Halo-Halo. The Ube Tres Leches was incredibly moist, rich, and packed with ube flavor without being overly sweet. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was relaxed. We love finding places that offer Filipino-inspired desserts, and Scoop N Buns definitely delivered. Since it was at a festival, the price was more expensive and it was $12 each. Both of the halo halo were refreshing and the ice cream were so good. My favorite topping was the flan, it was so creamy and paired so well with the shaved ice, but I wish they give you more flan though. Overall it was a good experience but I'd probably not going pay $12 for it again.
