After attending a Filipino-hosted Sungka Social event at Cafe Frida, we stopped by Scoop N Buns for dessert (it's next door ), and it was the perfect way to end the evening. We ordered the Ube Tres Leches and Mango Halo-Halo. The Ube Tres Leches was incredibly moist, rich, and packed with ube flavor without being overly sweet. The Mango Halo-Halo was refreshing, loaded with toppings, and perfect for a warm Texas day. Not pictured was the Ube Oreo Cookie, which was equally delicious and a great treat to take on the go. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was relaxed. We love finding places that offer Filipino-inspired desserts, and Scoop N Buns definitely delivered. I finally got to try the famous Halo Halo from Scoop n Buns during the Ube festival in Garland. The line was insanely long and I think they had the longest line out of all the vendors there. We got the Pandan halohalo & mango halohalo to try. Since it was at a festival, the price was more expensive and it was $12 each. Both of the halo halo were refreshing and the ice cream were so good. My favorite topping was the flan, it was so creamy and paired so well with the shaved ice, but I wish they give you more flan though. Overall it was a good experience but I'd probably not going pay $12 for it again. read more

This place is so cute, you wouldn't imagine it looked like this from the outside. They have a connecting cafe on the other side where more "grown folk" can go and have a good time. The side we went on was definitely more inviting towards kids, they even had a Nintendo system and my daughter did not want to leave. I really wanted to get halo halo but I didn't want to tempt myself to eat everything because I wanted to try more things on their menu. How can I put into words my love for this wonderfully unique ice cream parlor? I have so many happy memories taking my kid here. The space is cuuuuute with Instagram worthy decor. This place has a lot of heart. Mexican-Filipino inspired hand-made ice cream flavors. They always have ube (sweet purple taro) and usually have coconut, tres leches, or horchata ice cream alongside chocolate, vanilla or others. It's a different selection every time and I love that. It was my first time visiting on a busy pre-Christmas weekend, and the staff was so friendly! Very helpful and happy to explain ingredients and favorites. They were having a 'spend $10+ and get a free pastry', which included their DELICIOUS ube tres leches. They even stored it in the fridge for people until they were ready to leave. My original order was the halo halo (the original one with ube). It was super good! And you get so much, so maybe share with a friend. :) I also got a horchata latte to go and it was delicious. It's a very cute place with tons of Frida artwork. They're selling labubus and other stuff like jewelry and trinkets from local artisans. So cool to be involved in your community :) Love that. I needed help with buying 2 cakes for my dad's birthday. Zoya was super helpful and offered a helping hand to bake the cakes I wanted for my dad's birthday. I sent her pictures of the design I wanted and they came out beautifully done. I also asked her to put in some stands around the cake to prevent it from sliding around. She took pictures of where she put them so when we cut the cake we would know where they would be. I also told Zoya I had a concern about the cake melting because in the summer time it can get very hot in Texas. She told me she tested the whip cream at different temperatures to make sure it would hold up. The flavors I got were pandan with strawberry cream filling and ube with whip cream. I'm so so happy to have found a halo halo place here in the DFW. It's also a great idea due to the heat! Halo2 is delicious! I do wish they have the option to add more of the contents. Went here last night and still as amazing as the Day they opened. It is very cute on the inside and the staff are super friendly. The ice cream is ever changing and always good. I tried their cornbread flavor, which was rich, creamy and not overwhelming in sweetness. This place was recommended to me while I was doing interviews at the 2023 Palengke in Dallas. We were visiting from Seattle, but had to show up for the culture. I got the sampler that came with three mini scoops. I chose the sweet corn, ube (duh), and mango. My mom got a halohalo and my mans got the churros with Sakura crunch ice cream. Everything popped off. If you think I'm a sweet tooth, you should meet my mom. Her standards are up there but she said that this was one of her favorite stops during our whole trip. When you pull up, you know it's about to be a banger because the spot is a complete hole in the wall vibe. We've been waiting to go to this place for months now and finally got the chance on a Sunday after church. Located near the transit center and not too far from downtown Garland , Scoop N' Buns was a pleasant experience on a hot Sunday afternoon. We got here as soon as they opened and the appearance on the outside could never depict what the encounter will be like In the inside . Decor and artwork alone are vibes here . Very trendy and it's a must you snap a pic of some of the amazing features here. I loved the fact that they had Nintendo, childhood fav for sure! I knew almost exactly what I wanted before hand and that was the ice cream on a glazed bun. I opted for the Ube ice cream and beforehand I got to sample it which was great. I really wanted to like this place. I wish I could tell you how the place looks inside but from what my partner mentioned to me, he said it was a pretty cool place. He said he played Super Mario bros while he waited for our order. Let's talk about what I got. I decided to go for the churro bites and got Pandan and Matcha. The Pandan was good but the matcha was not the best, it had a weird taste to it which was definitely NOT matcha flavor. I had to toss it out :/ Unfortunately the flavors I wanted was NOT on the menu despite it being listed on their WEBSITE!!! Someone needs to update that to reflect what is in store. The Churros were also not my favorite, it tasted really doughy! My boyfriend got the Biscoff flavor and that was the best flavor. Wish I had got that instead!
