Very disappointing visit today. Went in looking for a specific color leather chair. After 0 minutes in the store I was greeted by Greg M. I showed him a leather chair in the color I was looking for. The sale price included an ottoman. I said where is the ottoman? He said, "in the warehouse!!" I said well can I see a picture of it? He said "no..it's just an ottoman!!" I asked for at least the size of it--he looked it up on computer. When he returned I asked him if there were any other leather chairs in the store in this color?? He replied right away, "no!" (the color is not unusual--a whiskey color) I asked if any other chairs in the store could be specially ordered in that color? Right away he replied "NO!"--no one is ordering that color any more!" I walked away and do not plan on returning! As I passed many chairs on my way out I saw several samples hanging in the color I wanted. I came back to leave a review since it's been a year since I moved to WI. As soon as my fiancé and I got off our flight from rural OR we went to work looking for things for my room. We stopped at this Colder's for a mattress. Several employees just stared at us, I assumed because we looked so flushed from the heat and overwhelmed by the huge store. Finally a lady came over to help and I asked what was the soonest we could get a mattress and how much for delivery. Side note: we are both from small towns in the west where the stores have only what you see. We knew little about warehouses and displays. The employee started to explain that it would take several days after we bought the mattress. Another employee, an older man, overheard the lady and interrupted to berate us, calling us "city folks" and cackling that we thought we could buy a mattress the same day. We just walked out, went to Steinhafels, bought a mattress, and we rented a small uhaul to get it from the warehouse later that day. read more

I purchased a sofa. I was told it would take a few weeks to come in. No big deal. Called to get it delivered to my residence after it did come in as stated. I have been on hold for over 15 minutes trying to get someone on the line. The original person who answered the phone was not very kind and then threw me on hold. I held for 15 minutes before the person came back on the line. Not very apologetic. Won't be shopping here again for furniture. read more

I would not advise people to shop here. We bought some lovely furniture for a decent price, BUT had a problem with the coffee table. It turned out to be broken, which was not apparent in the store, but since it was a clearance item, they refused to take it back. They did send someone out to fix it, however. The after sales service has been a minor nightmare, and unpleasant. In this day and age, where so many places have positive customer oriented attitudes, it's not necessary to shop in a place where they do not value their customers, and seem not to care about repeat business. It is not worth the hassle and indifferent attitudes of the personnel. Don't shop here. read more

I bought a Temperpedic Mattress from here in 2004. I'm having a problem with it shifting and seperating. I called customer service and they will not help me in any way. Purchasing a microwave, going on our 3rd so far in our lifetime, so we (spouse & self) know what we are looking for in a 36 year time span. The last one only lasted 8-10 years, and every finger print was visible so I was not sad to see is out the door. The Oak Creek location had maybe 2-3 other parties in the store at the time of microwave purchase arrival. Sales person, Kenneth B. assisted with measurements, and any questions and concerns we had and within 5 minutes, we narrowed down our selection between 2 and was listing the pro's & con's, with each of leaning on the opposite microwave. We calmly debated for 1 minute and mutually made our final selection. After the purchase was made with the sales person, my spouse went outside to pull the car up; I followed to the desk for the administrative clerk to take it out of inventory since it was a floor model or something. This took a managers approval, no problem for me to wait 3-5 more minutes. The sales person could not get the microwave to our car until this inventory or procedural task was done. Meanwhile, a few new customers walked into the store and the sales person was chopping at the bit wanting to jump on the opportunity. The computer task was done, and Kenneth B, Salesperson walked the microwave outside for loading. Before leaving the loaded car, unknown to me since I was inside the store to sign something for wait for the clearance to leave the store, Kenneth B, Salesperson stated to my spouse "Happy Wife, Happy Life". This could be funny if I had a personal relationship with the sales person, but professionally speaking, it was inappropriate and insensitive. I will think twice when using Colders again. I hope this person changes how he treats and talks to future customers in their presence or not. read more

Perhaps I was expecting too much, but be advised that you may be lied to by ill-trained salespeople. I bought a new dishwasher on Friday. The salesman assured me that in paying for delivery I was also paying for installation, along with removal of the old dishwasher. Today, I found out that he was simply wrong because he was "new." I suggested that, without inclusion of these items, this busy any clueless homeowner would not have completed the sale. I have decided never to buy from Colders due to the shady commitments of the sales person at the Oak Creek store (Brian). We bought a Refrigerator, a gas oven, a gas dryer and an electric washer. We were told by Brian that they would charge $99 for delivery and installation and will take care of everything. However, when the product finally showed up, the installation guys said that they did not carry the installation pipe to hook up with the stove or dryer. I called Colders and first they said that the house was old (only 7 years old) and that is the reason its not matching and I will have to make those purchases. When I contested that the home was only 7 years old, they (Brian and his manager (Dan) came up with the excuse that the home is "too new" and did not have the standard fixtures. Very unprofessional and very rude service. No ownership of keeping their commitments. I am never going back there. read more

Stay away from this store!!!! Horrible customer service. I spoke with three different managers and not one of them was willing to help me. I purchased a Flexsteel couch, waited six weeks for delivery and the couch was defective. It was missing a rivet in the recline mechanism. They refused to replace the couch after having it in my home for three hours. Finally after two weeks of unreturned calls, someone called and said they would replace the couch. No one called to apologize for the inconvenience. Then after three more weeks the new couch was delivered and the delivery man put the sectional together incorrectly and it couldn't be fixed so now I'm waiting another four weeks to have another replacement couch delivered. Disappointing customer service and sales experience. There are many other furniture store options out there and I wish I would have chosen another. We knew going into the store what we wanted in our sectional and there were few options available elsewhere. Delivery was a hassle given that they give you a broad time range and expect you to be home during a weekday which is not extremely common for most households. Went to purchase a washer and dryer set in late September. Ordered from sales person named John. Asked specifically if it was in stock and was told yes, that the company had them in stock in their warehouse. Set delivery up for the following week on Tuesday. Get a call Monday saying appliances wouldn't be in until the shipment on Wednesday. Moved delivery to Thursday. Got a call on Wednesday saying our dryer was MIA. Paperwork said it was on the truck but nobody could find it, salesman was "finding out where it is and will contact me back". I have yet to hear from him, he quit answering calls and does not respond to voicemail. I call again and talk to another person. Still no luck, but was promised another call from a manager (that never called). Called back again and talked to a woman that said it was on a truck that was supposed to arrive today and she would call me back. Not 10 minutes later I get a call from another manager saying there is no truck coming today and he didn't expect to have it until early November. They are sending a "temporary" dryer (per my demand that they do something because having a washer is great and all, but I need a dryer to do laundry with) until they can locate my dryer..... but that can't get there until sometime next week. At this point I'm ready to go back and demand my money back. The salesman only wanted to make a sale. Go somewhere else to buy your appliances, or don't go through salesman "John". Customer service is horrible here, and everyone has a different version of the truth as to what happened to the dryer. On the bright side, the delivery people were very professional. read more

Do not buy Southern Motion furniture from Colders. I had is three days and a cushion ripped. Service Department gives you the run around time and time again. Have two months the chair was replaced with a lot of calls made by me. Then that chair the spring broke, they came in and put in back in the hole. When they were I reported that the couch cushion was ripped. Another 6 weeks for replacement. Sent letter to President and General Manager about all the problems with the service department. They gave it to the service department to handle. Last email I received from Colders they told me it is under warranty until 2/15/15. There is only my husband and I at home, I can't keeping sitting on all the furniture to see what will go next and what happens after one year. So the furniture I brought for over $3000 is only going to be good for one year. Pretty expensive!! read more

I cannot adequately express how fortunate my husband and I were to work with JOSE RIVERA at the West Allis store...twice!! We purchased living room furniture a few years ago and were blessed to have his expertise and advise. We talked a lot, even about family etc., and I left feeling we not only added furniture to our lives, but also added a friend! As we walked into the store a few weeks ago to look at the possible purchase of a futon and chair, I thought about him and wondered if he still worked for Colder's. We entered the store, and who did I immediately see...JOSE! It was reuniting with a friend, versus just seeing an employee of a store. He even recalled the living room furniture we purchased years ago. Not once did we feel pressured, nor did he ever make us feel he was in a hurry, even though he was also helping other customers during our visit. I hugged him as we left. We are very satisfied with our Colder's purchases and are very grateful for employees like JOSE. Colder's is very fortunate to have JOSE RIVERA as part of the Colder's family!! Their selection of furniture is huge and the prices are manageable especially if you go to their 50% off holiday sales like the 4th of July weekend. Also, delivery was super easy and they only charge one flat rate to deliver any amount of furniture. Downside - sales staff are pretty aggressive and invade your personal space bubble and do not respond to your phone calls. Also, customer service department is a PAIN to work. We were told there are re-delivery fee for a backordered piece would be waved, but everytime we talked to customer service, they had no note of it and just tried to make things more difficult for us. Overall, after the whole process, we are very happy with all of your furniture pieces though. read more

Spent $7,000 on a leather sofa, love seat, and recliner. One month after the one year warranty expired I noticed two small tears in the leather on the sofa. Not sure when they happened. No children in the house jumping on the furniture. Very distressed after paying so much for such poor furniture. Called Colder's, spoke with Karra and her supervisor Dustin, who both told me $89.99 for a technician to come out and assess the damage and $89.99 per hour plus materials to repair. I sent them pictures which clearly showed the damage, but they both refused to do anything for me. Sure, why not, they already had my money! I will NEVER shop there again. read more

All I want is a lot of good furniture for a good deal, is that so wrong? Everyone who walks through the door runs away and tries to avoid the salespeople. It's like a fox hunt. We found out, you need the salespeople to decrypt the prices. They explained that there is a 3030 sale, which means everything is basically 50% off the tag. That annoyed me. I finally found a sofa, and the salesperson said it was around $5,000, but with the 3030, it would be around $2,600, but not including delivery, and taxes. I'm not a furniturista (new word?) but a fair price in my mind was under $2,500 including taxes and delivery. I asked for free delivery and was denied. I asked if they would haul away our old sofa and was denied. I asked if there were any other deals and was denied. I asked if there was financing and she seemed to discourage that, as if I wouldn't be approved or something. This place feels like a 1980's shopping experience, where there is tons of stale inventory sitting around and pushy salespeople in the way, to drive the price up as high as the customer can take. I like a store that provides furniture at a fair price that is openly and accurately stated on the tag. Perhaps I'm just not a good enough customer. They happened to have an auction in a loading bay and there were 20-30 customers in the auction and only us in the showroom. Colder's needs the understand that the customers of today, are the people at the auction. We want good deals! read more

It took three deliveries to get our last piece of furniture due to damage, and the last delivery was also damaged but fixed by their repair dept. I don't feel they care about customers satisfaction. read more

My "fixed" refrigerator was installed in my house today by Colder's and it is still not fully functioning. Instead of replacing the appliance, they will be sending a repair person to fix it again. I now have had the refrigerator not working longer than it worked. Unfortunately, they took my $3500 and will not return it. Terrible customer service. read more

She is attentive to the customer's needs, but does not pressure in that overbearing annoying "sales" way, which would put me off. I was very disappointed with the furniture I bought here..We notice a hole in the leather loveseat that was delivered to us..In addition the loveseat was uneven and the color was not the same color as the display..We had difficulty with trying to get a hold of the service managers as we were getting the run around by rude phone associates as well one of the store manager. We finally gotta hold of the service manager really nice lady. In the end we were told that we can't get refund nor exchange because of special policy on furniture..Its not our fault that the furniture was out of stock so we had to take what was offered which was for them to fix the new furniture that we bought..terrible advertisement and refund policy. read more

We bought 6k worth of furniture here..including a new washer & dryer.. the washer has a hole inside the drum...that's right a hole inside the drum of something that fills up with hot water...so when we turned it on we had a massive flood inside our new home..when we called to get some service all we hear is that its samsungs problem .. this washer is less than a week old and used 1 time..I can't tell you how angry I am. they don't seem to be doing anything about it..they don't care that it doesn't work..don't care that there product flooded my house and certainly don't care that I have no clean laundry..it is possibly the worst screw job I've seen in the retail industry..I mean it's a brand new washer !! Wtf ..and they refuse to give me a new one..or even repair this one..much less make up for the damage to my floor or waste of my time..now my options are to get this brand new washer fixed ..or call an attorney ...brutal ..stay away please !!!! read more

I will not being going back to Colders again. My initial experience was good going in and searching. I did not feel hounded by anyone. I went back a second day after thinking it through and purchased a table. No chairs included. The price was a little steep but for a decent table, it was okay. I then found out that delivery was not included which was a little shocking to me, plus the availability of days for it to be delivered to my home (5 miles away) was sparce. Two days later, I received a call from my sale's associate stating that my table was discontinued and that she would do her best to find which she did. She stated that she would call me with delivery. After this it was all down hill. I was not receiving calls back from my sales associate and the manager that I spoke to was rude and didn't seem to have a clue what was going on with it. I finally only received a response once I left a voicemail stating that I was going to cancel my order and the next day, the table was miraculously able to be set up for delivery. I continued to have troubles receiving calls back. After speaking to a manager, I was able to get part of my delivery charge back which I still do not believe was enough for what I went through as I would probably still not have it unless I had called and complained. read more

Awful experience overall. I paid A LOT of money for a memory foam mattress. The salesman was very unprofessional. It comes with a mattress protector that is basically cheap crinkly scratchy paper. The salesman told me I had to go pick up the bed frame in the store so they wouldn't have to deliver it. I go to pick it up and the guy basically throws this big heavy box to me and walks away without helping me get it in my car. When the delivery guys showed up they stacked the mattress and box spring up against the wall and then said okay we're all set. When I explained to them that the salesman told me they would set up the bed frame for me they said no they don't know that I got it from their store so they won't put it together. The mattress was nothing like the one on the sales floor that I sat and laid on there, it was basically like sleeping on a rock. When I went back asking the manager if I could exchange it before the 30 day trial period because it was so awful I couldn't sleep he said no too bad basically not his problem. He was such an unprofessional jerk about it. Then because I ended up choosing a cheaper mattress, they were refusing to refund the difference and I had to argue with several people over the phone. Bought new Englander couch from Colders in Feb. 2015. Had the couch 4 weeks and the cushions looked like I owned the couch for years. Called customer service and set up appointment soonest was 4 weeks away. Tech. came said looked like #### I said if this looks like this after a few weeks what will it looked like 1 or 2 years down the road. He took pics and went back to store, No one called be back to tell me what they were going to do. I called them after 10 days. They said they would get back to me. Now they are going to order new cushions and that it would take 6 weeks to come in then set up a new appointment to install. Had company over and they asked didn't you buy new furniture I said yes, they all laughed. Called Colders and asked if I could return it and buy a another new couch from them Sales Manager said NO. Guess I have to call them every couple weeks and have them replace cushions. My advice don't shop Colders. read more
